Chapter 972 He Is Back!
The Morrison family was well-known, and they paid their servants generously. Losing such a job there would be a real blow.
"I just..."
Another servant sighed.
"I just feel pitiful for Ms. Morrison. She's just a kid. She only knows who treats her well. You saw it last time, right? Mrs. Valencia is so patient with her. No wonder Ms. Morrison likes her."
"Yeah... Compared to her, Mrs. Una Morrison is way too strict. She even used such harsh words to scold Ms. Nia Morrison."
"Ugh... If only Mrs. Valencia could take care of Ms. Morrison. She's only well-behaved when she's with her."
"Don't let Mrs. Morrison hear you say that!"
"But it's true... Yesterday, when Ms. Morrison came back, her skin was still smooth, and she had gained some weight. But she cried almost all night, which shows she really depends on Mrs. Valencia."
Women tended to be more soft-hearted.
As servants, they all felt sorry for Nia and couldn't understand how Una could be so heartless.
They continued to vent by the trash cans for a while longer.
Little did they know, Sarah had heard everything.
She had parked her car outside the neighborhood and saw the two servants coming out of the Morrison Villa. She had intended to follow them and find a chance to ask them some questions, but after hearing their conversation, there was no need to do so.
How could this be?
Nia was crying so much. Shouldn't Una be comforting her?
Sarah's heart twisted in pain, making it hard to breathe.
If...
If Nia was really her daughter, then everything she was going through now was because they hadn't protected her well.
Thinking about this made Sarah feel incredibly guilty, as if her soul was being torn apart. She felt so disoriented that her steps were unsteady, her mind a chaotic mess, with only one question lingering in her mind.
How much more time did she need to spend, and what else could she do...
To reunite with Eden?
Unable to think clearly and not wanting to stay home and overthink, she drove around aimlessly. By the time she returned, it was already evening.
Antonio saw her come in and breathed a sigh of relief, putting down his phone and walking over to hug her.
"Where did you go? You scared me."
"I just went for a drive."
Sarah had calmed down a lot and patted his shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry, I'll find a way to manage my emotions. I won't lose control again."
"That's good."
Antonio led her back to the living room. "I've already got people looking for Bob. Now that Una has hidden Nia, the simplest way is to find him and have him explain everything himself."
Only Bob knew the truth.
Sarah was silent for a moment, about to speak, when a servant's voice came from the door. "Mr. Antonio Valencia, Mrs. Bob Valencia, there's a flower delivery outside that requires your personal signature."
She instinctively said, "There must be a mistake. No one ordered flowers..."
"There is."
Antonio interrupted her, his voice carrying a hint of restrained excitement. "I'll sign for it myself. If you have nothing else to do, you can go rest."
The servants left, and Antonio leaned down to whisper in Sarah's ear, "It's Francis."
"Really?!"
Sarah's eyes widened in surprise. "Go bring Francis in. I'll get Ryan."
Antonio nodded and headed to the door.
Francis was dressed in a store uniform, with a baseball cap covering most of his face, holding a bouquet of vibrant flowers.
When the door opened, he looked around cautiously before stepping inside.
"Francis, why didn't you let us know you were coming?"
"I heard you were all busy, so I came straight over. Is Sarah okay?"
"She's fine."
Antonio glanced at his leg and took the flowers from him. "Ryan will be thrilled to see you. Why don't you move back in with us?"
Francis's face softened with a hint of tenderness.
"Not yet, let's wait a bit longer."
"I've got people tracking Guadalupe. Once we confirm he's not investigating anymore, you'll be completely safe."
Antonio assumed he was worried about that and didn't say more, leading him upstairs.
"Dad!"
Francis had taken off his disguise and couldn't help but tear up when he saw Ryan running towards him. "Ryan... I'm sorry for making you worry."
"Don't be, Dad."
Ryan wiped his tears. "I know you have your own things to do. I don't blame you."
Seeing Ryan so understanding, Antonio and Sarah felt relieved and stood quietly by.
After talking for a while, Francis greeted the other children.
"Francis! Your leg is healed!"
Ethan's surprised voice drew the other kids' attention to his leg.
"Yeah, Francis! Does that mean you can play with us now?"
"Yes, there will be opportunities for that."
Ryan was also thrilled to see Francis's leg healed.
Surrounded by the kids, Francis felt content seeing them all healthy. Suddenly, he remembered, "Isn't there another little one I haven't met? Where is she? Let me see her."
Sarah had given birth to a child in the Northwest, but he had left in a hurry and hadn't met her.
But his question brought silence.
The kids looked downcast.
Sarah took a deep breath and told the kids, "Francis has a secret mission to complete, so we can't tell anyone he's back, okay?"
Their attention was diverted, and they agreed seriously. But they were more curious about Francis's secret mission.
"It's a secret, so kids can't know."
Sarah laughed, ruffling Harper's hair. "Now go play for a bit. Dad and I need to talk to Francis."
The kids obediently left, and she turned to Antonio. "You should tell Francis what happened."
She feared that explaining it again would break her heart even more.
Antonio nodded, his voice heavy.
"Eden went missing shortly after she was born in the Northwest."
"What?!"
Francis was shocked. "Who did it? Haven't you found any clues?"
Antonio and Sarah exchanged a look, pausing before he said, "We have some clues now. She might be with the Morrison family, but they're very guarded, so getting a DNA sample will be tough."
There was no point in mentioning that Eden was initially taken by Guadalupe, as it would only make Francis feel guilty.
