Chapter 874 Sarah Seduced Francis
The commotion was quite significant, and Ryan had been hiding in his room all day. In the evening, Lisa walked to the study and knocked on the door. "Mr. Valencia, are you busy?"
Lisa's soft and weak voice came from the doorway. Francis frowned, "Come in."
Lisa pushed the door open, closed it, then seemed to remember something and reopened it. As she walked in, she twisted the hem of her clothes with her hands, looking nervous.
Francis noticed her actions and paused. "What is it?"
"I... I heard you argued with Ryan this afternoon?" Afraid of causing a misunderstanding, she quickly explained, "I'm sorry! This is all my fault. I didn't expect Ryan to misunderstand us. I'm sorry, if I had noticed earlier and stopped it, this wouldn't have happened. I'm sorry, Mr. Valencia!"
She spoke incoherently, and her reddened eyes showed that she had been crying.
Seeing her like this, Francis felt an inexplicable irritation. "It's not your fault."
He wasn't an unreasonable person.
What happened today was clearly a result of the kids thinking they understood adults and making plans in private.
Lisa felt even more guilty and choked up, "Mr. Valencia, if I've caused trouble between you and Ryan, maybe I should leave and find another job. I..."
Before she could finish, her phone suddenly rang in her pocket.
Francis frowned, "Answer your phone first."
"Yes, I'm sorry, please wait a moment." Lisa wiped her eyes, looking pitiful and tearful.
She walked to the window to answer the call, and the shouting from the other end was clearly audible in the office.
"Elara, when are you going to pay back the money? You've been delaying! How long have we given you already? Huh?"
"If it weren't for your dying son, I would have smashed your crappy house long ago!"
"I'm... I'm sorry!" Lisa was so scared her legs went weak, and she had to support herself on the window to stay upright. "Lonnie, please trust me, I'll pay you back as soon as possible. Please give me one more chance, okay?"
Lonnie Caldwell cursed a few more times, and she tearfully pleaded, "I have no other choice. My son is still in the hospital, waiting for money to save his life. Please give me a few more days, okay?"
"Damn it!" Lonnie cursed a few more times on the other end. "I'll give you ten more days. If you don't pay up, you'll see what happens!"
After hanging up, Lisa stood by the window for a while. Her dejected figure looked pitiful and helpless, but she was still trying to adjust her emotions.
A minute later, she walked back to the desk. "Mr. Valencia, I..."
"No need to say more." Francis raised his hand and pinched his forehead. He had heard everything just now. If he kicked her out under these circumstances, wouldn't that be heartless?
"Stay here, but be more mindful in the future."
Lisa looked up in surprise, her tone cautious, "Really?"
"Yes." Francis didn't want to look at her anymore. He lowered his head and organized the documents on the desk, saying in a deep voice, "Just act naturally. Pretend nothing happened before."
Lisa bowed gratefully, "Okay, I understand. Thank you, Mr. Valencia!"
She turned and left. As she walked out of the study, a faint smile appeared on her lips.
Francis let out a heavy sigh.
He didn't know that everything that happened at the company today was about to reach Guadalupe's ears.
At that moment, Guadalupe was abroad, dealing with the trouble caused by Meridian Group, feeling overwhelmed. He angrily swept all the documents off the table, "Useless!"
"Mr. Diaz."
"Get out!"
The subordinate left trembling, closing the office door behind him.
Guadalupe leaned back in his chair, his long fingers loosening his tie, allowing his constricted throat to relax.
He hadn't expected Meridian Group to cause such a big problem this time, hitting every sore spot, and leaving everyone defenseless.
Guadalupe closed his eyes, a cold and sharp aura spreading from him.
After a while, the black phone on the desk buzzed, the vibration resonating through the wooden desk, alerting his nerves.
He squinted his eyes, stretched out his long arm, and picked up the phone. "Speak."
"Mr. Diaz, something happened at the Valencia Group tonight."
"What happened?"
"Mr. Valencia dropped something from his briefcase during a meeting, along with a love letter."
Guadalupe's eyes darkened, a glint of ice flashing through, "What was it?"
"A condom."
Guadalupe let out a short, dangerous laugh, sending a shiver down the bodyguard's spine on the other end of the line. The bodyguard asked nervously, "Mr. Diaz, what should we do now?"
Guadalupe's hand on the desk clenched, his eyes dark and cold, "Since Sarah dared to seduce Francis, shouldn't we teach her a lesson to show that I understand social etiquette?"
"Mr. Diaz, could there be a misunderstanding?"
"What misunderstanding could there be?" Guadalupe's voice was flat, like falling snow, "Besides Sarah, who else is around Francis? Who else would dare to be so bold?"
'Only her, Sarah! That bitch!' He thought.
Guadalupe's eyes seemed to burn with fire, wishing he could grab her and kill her right now!
"I don't care what method you use, Sarah must learn a lesson!" Guadalupe snapped.
The bodyguard thought of the pregnant Sarah and felt his scalp tingle, "Mr. Diaz, she's pregnant. What if something happens?"
"If something happens, it's just bad luck for her, isn't it?" Guadalupe didn't care about that. All he could think of was Sarah seducing Francis. The thought made him want to tear Sarah apart!
"Do as I say!"
"Yes!"
Sarah had no idea she was already on Guadalupe's radar.
That evening, Sarah finally convinced Cynthia to go out for dinner at a restaurant near the nursing home, within walking distance.
On the way back, they walked arm in arm, with Antonio following at a respectful distance, giving off an air of absolute protection.
"Cynthia." Sarah leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Don't you think he's actually a good person?"
She could tell that Cynthia's attitude towards Antonio had changed a lot today. Although she wasn't exactly friendly, at least she wasn't sarcastic.
And during dinner, she even ate the shrimp Antonio peeled for her.
Cynthia snorted lightly, "How long have I known him? How can I tell?"
"Fine, then I'll have him spend more time with you!"
Cynthia glared at Sarah, but Sarah still smiled ingratiatingly, "Cynthia, I've known him for many years. I've seen everything there is to see. If you want to know more about him, we'll spend more time with you. Besides, it's only right for us to keep you company!"
Sarah's voice was clear and strong, like warm water flowing into one's heart.
Cynthia sighed and poked Sarah's forehead, "You."
"What about me?"
"You're too considerate of Antonio. Some people can't be understood in a lifetime, let alone a few short years."
In this world, the most unreliable thing was a man.
"But I can't give up the chance for happiness just because I can't understand someone."
