Chapter 293 Will Never Truly Have Sarah
"Mommy, I've just remembered something that needs your immediate attention," Brian said, wrapping his arms around Sarah's neck. His tone was determined, imitating Harper's coaxing manner.
Sarah frowned, her eyebrows knitting together. "Ethan, when will you learn to handle your own affairs?"
"This is an emergency," Brian insisted. "Mommy, just accompany me for a bit."
Sarah, taken aback by Ethan's sudden cajoling, softened. "Alright, alright. Let me get ready. Where are we going?"
Brian, disentangling himself from Sarah's embrace, replied, "Mommy, I've prepared our outfits. How about we wear matching ones? Here, this one is for you."
Sarah sensed something was amiss. "What exactly are we doing?"
"I'm attending an awards ceremony. After all, I am a grand slam winner," Brian explained.
Sarah quickly changed into the grand outfit prepared by her son, although she felt it was a bit too extravagant.
Upon arriving at the venue, Sarah looked around, realizing it was filled with men. The decorations and atmosphere were more akin to a matchmaking event rather than a children's awards ceremony. Stars mixed with champagne roses, and a large flower arch at the entrance gave the impression of a blind date gathering."Hello, are you Miss Miller?"
"Hello, Miss Miller, I'm Wang Mingyang."
"Hello, Miss Miller, nice to meet you."
As Sarah walked in, she was greeted by a flurry of introductions. It was then she discovered she was the only woman present, and there were no children either.
"Ethan was supposed to receive an award here..." Sarah mumbled to herself, turning around to find a bouquet of flowers and a note in place of Ethan.
"Mommy, enjoy yourself!" the note read.
Sarah realized with a sinking feeling that this was no awards ceremony at all.
Meanwhile, James, looking at the women who had come for the blind date, wore a terrified expression. He was an eligible bachelor who had also received an invitation, but he hadn't expected his boss's wife to be the only woman present.
He quickly called Antonio, who was at the company dealing with other matters.
“What’s the matter? Did you find Alex?”
"Mr. Valencia, I came to attend a blind date gathering, but the only woman here... is actually the madam!"
"What?" Antonio shot up from his chair in disbelief. "That can't be true!"
"It is, Mr. Valencia. Over ten men have already handed me their business cards. Please come over quickly, I'll watch over everything for you."
Antonio, shocked, immediately rushed to the venue. However, he paused at the entrance, spotting a familiar figure.
Antonio's gaze met Asa's across the distance, the atmosphere instantly becoming tense. Antonio approached, questioning the true nature of this blind date.
Asa's presence triggered several thoughts in Antonio's mind, each one enough to make him furious. He wondered if Asa had set a trap for him and Sarah, intending to drive them apart, or if he was trying to approach Sarah with ill intentions under the guise of this blind date event.
At the sight of Asa's face, Antonio was reminded of several pictures he had seen before.
They caused him pain and brought him shame. With these thoughts, Antonio's anger intensified.
On the other end, Asa also did not expect to see Antonio here.
When he had received the invitation, he had immediately recognized the silhouette as Sarah, the one he had been yearning for.
He didn't understand why Sarah suddenly decided to organize this blind date event, but he knew this was his chance.
The last time they met at the party, Sarah clearly distanced herself from him.
Combined with the lingering images from the surveillance footage, Asa's hatred had been building up.
Since Sarah organized this so-called blind date event, he naturally had to get involved.
If he could seize the opportunity to eliminate the barrier between them through this event, he would have even more chances to act.
However, he was puzzled by Antonio's presence. Weren't they in conflict? If there was no conflict, why would Sarah arrange this blind date event?
"Mr. Valencia, long time no see," Asa greeted, his smile not reaching his eyes.
Suddenly, Asa felt that this blind date event was just another way for this affectionate couple to show off.
If that was the case, why invite him here?
Asa's extreme thoughts almost revealed his emotions.
Nowadays, he was becoming more and more restless. He found himself unable to wait calmly like before.
He couldn't tolerate Sarah being with Antonio.
Sarah was his, and could only be his.
Antonio, seeing through Asa's hypocritical demeanor, retorted, "I regret not seeing you at the last gathering, but Sarah should have conveyed my greetings to you."
"Is that so? We've never mentioned your name in any of our conversations."
"Sarah usually refers to me as 'Mr.' when we're in public, so naturally she wouldn't mention my name. But what about you? What are you doing here today?"
Antonio's cold and piercing gaze swept over Asa's gloomy face. "Are you secretly coveting someone else's wife again?"
"Antonio, you don't have to be so sarcastic here. What you've obtained, I may not have missed out on either. Who's to say who has more?" Asa replied, his eyes fixated on Antonio with a sinister glare. "Let me tell you, you'll never truly have her. Sarah will never belong to you."
Bam!
With a swift movement, Antonio's fist landed on Asa's face. He then grabbed Asa by the collar, his grip tight. "Asa, I warned you. I spared your life for her sake. If you dare to come near her again, I'll make sure your sorry, treacherous self becomes cat food."
