Chapter 78 Making Sarah Jealous
That day, after Antonio had that gnarly allergic reaction, she sent someone to hunt down the maid ASAP. But the maid swore up and down she was chilling at home and had never been there.
At first, she thought it was total BS, but now, everything clicked!
Lisa's eyes twitched with rage as she glared at Sarah. Thank God Antonio was okay that day; otherwise, she'd be in deep trouble!
Thinking her plan hadn't hit the mark yet, Lisa swallowed her anger and kept pushing, "Yo, you peeped Antonio's love for Ryan that day, right? Harper's just a side chick! Save yourself and bounce while you still can!"
Ryan was her ace in the hole. Dropping his name always gave her a boost.
But she quickly realized this move was a bust!
As soon as Sarah heard her mention Ryan, she laughed even harder, all sarcastic-like. "You're the one who needs a reality check. Harper's living the high life in Antonio's villa, treated like royalty.. She snaps her fingers, and she gets whatever she wants. But Ryan? He's stuck outside with you, just like you, not even allowed to live with Antonio!"
Those words hit like a sledgehammer.
Lisa's pride and logic crumbled instantly. She was fuming and stepped forward, ready to slap Sarah.
Just then, the door swung open.
It was Antonio!
Seeing him, Lisa quickly dropped her hand. The anger and malice on her face vanished, replaced by fake regret. "My bad. I shouldn't have been so clumsy and messed up your clothes. I just wanted to say sorry. Even though we're not blood-related, I've always seen you as family. I didn't think things would go south like this. Please don't be mad at me."
Sarah looked at Lisa, who was now playing the guilt card, and thought it was a shame she wasn't an actress.
Anyone hearing Lisa's sob story would think Sarah was the bad guy.
But Sarah didn't give a damn what Antonio thought. There wasn't a single decent person in this room, and she just wanted to bounce.
Before Sarah could make a move, she saw Lisa walk over to Antonio and cling to his arm, looking all pitiful. "Antonio, can you help me get Sarah to chill out?"
Antonio didn't shake off Lisa's hand. Instead, he gave them a look, his eyes flashing with some unreadable emotion, and said in a deep voice, "Don't beat yourself up. You did nothing wrong."
As he said this, he stared hard at Sarah, watching her every reaction. He said it on purpose to make her jealous.
This was why he agreed to bring Sarah back to meet the Miller family.
Even though he wouldn't divorce Sarah, he couldn't get over her betrayal, which bugged him, so he wanted her to feel the hurt too.
But he couldn't find a hint of concern on Sarah's face.
Sarah's face stayed stone-cold.
Ignoring Antonio, she shot daggers at Lisa. "Stay outta my life. I don't want anything to do with your messed-up family anymore!"
She gave them a cold look, then stormed past them, ready to bolt from this madhouse. But just as she hit the yard, another pain in the neck blocked her way. "Leaving so soon?"
Sarah glanced sideways and saw it was Sharon. Feeling grossed out, she picked up the pace, but then Sharon called out, "Do you recognize this?"
Sensing something was off, Sarah turned her head and was floored to see the shiny object on Sharon's chest.
It was Carol's necklace!
Carol's most prized piece of bling, which she rarely wore. But when Sarah was sorting through her stuff, it was MIA. Turns out, Sharon had swiped it.
Now Sharon was flaunting it, clearly to get under her skin!
No way was she letting Sharon keep Carol's necklace!
So Sarah marched over. "What right do you have to wear my mom's necklace? Hand it over!"
With John not around, Sharon dropped the nice act.
Seeing this, she smirked all smug and provocative. "If you got the guts, come and get it!"
Sarah glared at Sharon, cursing her shamelessness, but she didn't want to waste time arguing. She lunged straight for the necklace.
Sharon's face twisted with malice, and she shoved Sarah hard towards the nearby pool.
She knew Sarah couldn't swim, so she had deliberately sent John away before coming over.
And Antonio should be tied up with Lisa right now, making it the perfect opportunity for avenging Lusa!
'Sarah, you little witch, you're toast today!' Sharon cursed inwardly.
Sarah didn't expect Sharon to suddenly attack her, and she tumbled towards the pool.
In that split second, Sarah's thought wasn't that she couldn't die, but that she couldn't die alone!
Remembering that Sharon couldn't swim either, Sarah used all her strength to grab Sharon by the edge and yank her into the pool!
They both splashed into the water, and Sharon, who had planned to drown Sarah, now found herself flailing in panic. Just moments ago, her face had been full of smugness, but now it was pure terror. "Help! Help!"
Sarah was also scared out of her mind, but all she could think about was getting Carol's necklace back. In her desperation, she went savage, grabbing Sharon's hair with one hand and yanking her back, while the other hand snatched the necklace from her neck.
With the necklace back in her grip, Sarah clutched it tightly, terrified of losing it again.
Hearing the cries for help, people in the house rushed out and saw the two women almost completely submerged in the water.
Seeing this, Antonio's eyes narrowed, and his heart felt like it was being squeezed by a giant hand.
Without a second thought, he dove into the water.
He quickly reached Sarah, pulling her out of the water and hooking an arm around her neck to keep her face above the surface.
Sarah had swallowed a ton of water, but finally, fresh air hit her lungs, and she coughed violently.
Being rescued didn't make her happy at all because the first face she saw was the last one she wanted to see.
She'd rather drown than be saved by Antonio!
