Chapter 791 Are You Here to End a Life?

Philip's heart was full of disbelief, but he couldn't help trembling all over. His pupils dilated in his feverish eyes, almost as if they were about to fall out.

He tried to get off the hospital bed, but his excitement caused a sudden jolt in his chest, and he fell back down.

His incredulous gaze remained fixed on the man sitting over there. His lips trembled, opening and closing, but he couldn't utter a single word. Philip completely passed out.

The man merely glanced at him indifferently, expressionless.

His gaze moved past Philip's unconscious body and landed on the TV screen in the background, which was broadcasting the news.

"The Valencia Group's recent actions are equivalent to changing the CEO. I wonder if Ms. Miller plans to step back, and what direction her six-year-old son will take the Valencia Group?" The narrator's voice was full of emotion.

The screen was showing a photo of Sarah and Antonio.

The man in the wheelchair casually pinched his fingers, a disdainful and mocking smile slowly forming at the corner of his mouth.

After handling the company's affairs, Antonio and Sarah returned home. After a reluctant farewell, Antonio took a flight back to Marshall City, leaving the remaining issues for Brian to handle.

As soon as he got out of the airport, Antonio video-called Sarah to let her know he was safe. After just a few words, his eyelids twitched heavily.

He suddenly paused, a strange feeling spreading in his heart.

Seeing his unusual expression, Sarah was puzzled. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," Antonio snapped back to reality. "Maybe I got a bit dizzy from the flight. You should go rest; I have something to take care of."

Sarah thought he was referring to Harold's matter and nodded, "Okay, but you should also take care of yourself."

Antonio smiled, "Mm, I love you."

After hanging up, he got into the car. "To the hospital."He had already contacted Timothy in advance. Today, they would discuss the strategy, and once the surgery time was confirmed, they could proceed to remove the chip from his shoulder.

Forty minutes later, the car stopped at the hospital entrance.

Antonio got out of the car calmly, his tall and slender figure attracting a lot of attention.

Just as he entered the hospital lobby, a commotion erupted outside.

Numerous uniformed individuals came in, and the hospital's administrator led a group to greet them.

The lobby, already bustling with people, became even more chaotic.

"What's going on?"

"I heard someone is here for an inspection!"

"Who cares as long as they don't interfere with our treatment!"

Patients and their families were all talking about it. Antonio got the gist of it but didn't pay much attention and headed to Timothy's office.

The investigation was quite extensive, almost all the doctors were questioned, and eventually, they found a doctor who had accepted large bribes, which was a criminal offense.

Moreover, the doctor held a high position.

The involved doctor was taken away by law enforcement for investigation.

Antonio and Timothy had just finished their conversation and witnessed this scene. A kind nurse explained the situation to them.

Antonio raised an eyebrow and looked at Timothy beside him. "All the doctors were called in for questioning. Why weren't you?"

Timothy glanced at him sideways, "Do I look like I need money?"

Standing in front of them were two handsome men. The young nurse blushed and couldn't help but explain to Timothy, "Mr. Valencia, Dr. Reed is a specially appointed doctor. His family owns a company, so why would he care about such bribes?"

Even the hospital director might take money, but Timothy was absolutely not.

Timothy gave her a faint look but said nothing, and the nurse ran off in fear.

Antonio already knew this.

Timothy, with one hand in his white coat pocket, said with a stern face, "You should go back first. I'll notify you once the plan is confirmed."

"Mm, thank you." Antonio waved his hand and turned to leave the office.

They didn't know that the doctor who was taken away was Harold's subordinate, Percy.

Previously, Percy had been in direct contact with him, and they had agreed to meet tonight.

And tonight, Timothy happened to be on duty.

In the dead of night, the entire hospital quieted down from its usual hustle and bustle, with only the faint sound of the nurses' conversations coming from the nurse's station.

"Dr. Wheeler was taken away. His patients haven't been reassigned to another doctor yet, so we all need to keep an extra eye on them tonight."

The younger nurse immediately looked distressed, "What about the critical patient?"

If a critical patient didn't have a responsible doctor and something happened, wouldn't the nurses have to take the blame?

Before the other nurse could respond, a cold male voice suddenly spoke. "Which patient?"

The three nurses at the station were stunned and turned to see Timothy standing there.

His veined hand still had water droplets on it, indicating he had just come from the restroom. The overhead light cast a divine glow on him.

"Dr. Reed."

Timothy nodded, "Which patient?"

The nurse blushed and quickly grabbed the patient's file, "The one you helped pay the medical bills for. He was Dr. Wheeler's patient, and his condition hasn't stabilized yet."

Timothy glanced at the file, "I'll go take a look."

With that, he walked towards the ward area.

In the ward, Harold was in extreme agony without seeing Percy.

He had clearly arranged to meet Percy tonight, but he had been waiting until now, and it was already midnight.

Did Percy think that now he had become a doctor, he could forget where he came from and pretend to be a good person?

The painkillers Harold had taken had long lost their effect, and waves of pain engulfed his body, making his anger even more intense.

His forehead was covered in sweat, and his face was extremely pale.

At that moment, there was a noise at the door.

Someone pushed the door open and walked in, the steady and powerful footsteps getting closer.

Harold took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, "You finally came!"

Timothy heard this and quickly furrowed his brow, speeding up his steps to the bedside. His eyes, deep behind the glasses, looked at Harold, "You're awake?"

Harold had been in a coma before.

Harold was momentarily stunned, recognizing the voice in shock, "You... Where's Dr. Wheeler?"

In just a few seconds, countless thoughts flashed through Harold's mind. 'Isn't Percy supposed to come? Where does he go? Why is Timothy here? Does he already know something he shouldn't?'

He had been "asleep" in the ward and didn't know that Percy had been taken away.

Seeing Timothy approaching the bed with a cold and stern demeanor, Harold's sweat poured even more, and his eyes were full of caution.

He couldn't help but think, 'Could it be that Percy had been discovered? And is Timothy here to kill me.'
