Chapter 371 Serene Saved Me Again
"You're right." Antonio chuckled and lightly touched Sarah's nose.
"Sit properly, don't move around," Sarah supported Antonio to sit back in the wheelchair.
Antonio obediently listened but didn't let go of her hand.
"Sarah, please don't be mad at me," Antonio pleaded.
Sarah didn't want to say anything harsh now. "Forget about that for now. Just focus on getting better and not worrying. We don't want to make the children worry."
A heavy burden lifted from Antonio's heart as he gratefully held Sarah's hand, heading towards the hospital ward.
Sarah pursed her lips and cursed Antonio inwardly for being such a rogue, but she didn't pull her hand away.
The doctor's words echoed in her mind, and she couldn't imagine what would happen if something had truly gone wrong earlier.
Meanwhile, Serene sat in her attending physician's office and insisted on exaggerating her condition.
"Ms. Jerrett, your leg has no major issue, just a slight fracture. You don't even need a wheelchair. Isn't this wasting medical resources?" The doctor was helpless, wondering why he had a patient like her.
As soon as Serene entered the office, she demanded that the follow-up results be altered.
Originally, she only had a minor fracture, which would heal quickly with proper rest. The accident scene yesterday only looked frightening.
Serene was slender. When the car overturned, it wedged against a nearby large rock, giving her ample space to escape.
Requesting a wheelchair upon waking was already excessive, but now she desired the doctor to exaggerate her condition and alter her medical records. This was unprecedented in his medical career.
"I don't care!" Serene slammed the desk. "If you tell anyone about this, I will get you fired right now!"
"Ms. Jerrett..."
"Don't worry, I won't waste your time and medical resources. I just want to stay and recuperate in your hospital, maybe do some rehabilitation treatments. I might even transfer to another hospital. All you need to do is tell others that my follow-up results are extremely severe, and that's enough."
After saying that, Serene took a check from her bag. "This is for my medical expenses. Thank you for your trouble."
The doctor had no other choice when faced with this situation.
Serene had already made her identity clear—she was someone he couldn't afford to offend.
"Alright then. What do you specifically want me to write?"
The doctor was extremely helpless; now, whatever Serene said would go.
"Just write that the fracture is severe, and I may not be able to stand for the rest of my life or something like that."
Serene couldn't help but smirk slightly. She found it hard to believe that Antonio could remain so indifferent after getting injured while saving him.
The doctor frowned. 'She is really conniving…'
"I'll come to you later for the follow-up results. Once this is done, you'll benefit." Serene put a check on the desk. "This is for your efforts."
The doctor had no other choice.
Serene pushed her wheelchair out of the doctor's office.
To her surprise, as soon as she stepped outside, she saw Sarah pushing Antonio out of the elevator.
Serene had heard Sarah's voice earlier but thought she must have misheard.
Serene clenched her nails into her palms in anger. She never expected Sarah to show up here. No wonder Antonio suddenly changed his attitude when they were in the ward.
Weren't they in the midst of a marriage crisis now? Why was Sarah being so persistent?!
Meanwhile, as Sarah pushed Antonio, she said with a hint of disdain, "So, you were with Serene all day yesterday? You didn't think I wouldn't know."
Antonio quickly explained, "No, Sarah, we just happened to run into each other on the plane. The organizers also arranged for us to stay at the same hotel. There was nothing I could do. We ended up traveling together."
Speaking of which, Antonio couldn't help but sigh. "But Serene really did… save me once again."
Sarah stopped in her tracks. "What did you say?"
