Chapter 877 She Is the Savior
Lisa naturally didn't want him to help. "Ryan, how can I let you carry it? It's not that heavy, I can manage it myself."
"It's not that heavy, which is why I can help you carry it."
Antonio pushed Francis's wheelchair and held Sarah's hand in the crook of his arm. "Let him be. He's grown up now, and it's good that he's willing to help."
With that, the three adults didn't think much of it and closely followed the children.
Since they hadn't been here for a long time, the kids were like birds finally let out of a cage when they arrived at the amusement park. They played every game they could.
Ethan and Harper wanted to drag Ryan and Brian to the adventure house. After much persuasion, they finally agreed.
Sarah was pregnant now, so she didn't dare to play such thrilling games. She thought for a moment and said, "But I would be worried if you go by yourselves. How about letting Dad go with you?"
Before Antonio could speak, Ryan volunteered, "Dad, why don't you stay with Mom? You can wait for us at the entrance. Let Elara go with us, okay, Elara?"
Lisa was more than happy to agree, pretending to answer casually before timidly turning to ask, "Is that okay, Mr. Antonio Valencia... Mrs. Valencia?"
Francis, with his inconvenient legs, thought it was a good idea. "Then you go with them, and be careful."
Ryan jumped up happily and pulled Lisa's hand to go inside.
Brian, Ethan, and Harper were momentarily stunned but were quickly attracted by the adventure house and ran after them.
The three adults waited outside, and Antonio and Francis took the opportunity to chat about company matters.
Sarah, finding it boring, wandered around and took many photos with her phone.
After just a few minutes, a commotion arose in the distance. She looked over and saw thick smoke billowing from the roof of the adventure house.
Sarah's hand trembled, and she quickly ran over to pull Antonio, who was about to go in. "What's happening? Is there a fire inside?"
Antonio's face darkened, and he said sternly, "Yes, stay here and don't run around."
"Okay."
As a pregnant woman, she couldn't go in.
Sarah forced herself to stay calm, watching a group of staff rush inside. She quickly stepped aside to avoid blocking their way.
"Sarah, don't worry, nothing will happen." Francis was also worried but tried to comfort her gently, "It's not black smoke, so the fire shouldn't be too big. The kids are smart; they'll be fine!"
Hearing this, Sarah felt a bit more at ease and stared intently at the entrance. "I hope so!"
Soon, Harper and Ethan came out holding hands. "Mommy!"
Sarah opened her arms to hug them and looked behind them anxiously. "Where are the other two? Why haven't Ryan and Brian come out yet?"
Harper wiped the ash off her face. "Mommy, Uncle, don't worry. Ryan and Brian are fine, but..."
Before she could finish, a group of people came out from inside.
Antonio was holding Brian's hand, his face not looking good.
Ryan was crying, and beside him were staff carrying a stretcher. Sarah was stunned and then looked over to see that the person lying on it was Elara!
She had a pained expression, looking seriously injured.
Sarah was taken aback. "How did she get hurt?"
Antonio walked over and patted her back. "Let's get her to the hospital first. We'll talk about the rest later."
Francis, seeing that Ryan was okay, was relieved and wanted to take him along, but Ryan refused.
He cried sadly, saying, "Dad, I want to stay with Elara. She saved me; otherwise, I would be the one injured now."
Hearing that, Francis wanted to ask more, but Ryan had already followed the staff out and got into the ambulance.
Antonio said in a deep voice, "Francis, let him go if he wants to. There won't be any danger in the ambulance. We'll follow along; it's okay."
At the hospital, Lisa was taken to the emergency room for examination, and Sarah, relieved, quickly comforted the frightened children.
Francis glanced at the crying Ryan, who couldn't be consoled by Sarah.
He was worried about Elara. "Mommy, will Elara be okay?"
Sarah quickly wiped his tears. "Don't worry, Elara will be fine."
Harper and Ethan also helped wipe his tears and comforted him.
Brian looked at the lit emergency room door and said, "Elara was hit on the waist, but it shouldn't be too serious."
Seeing the children's pale faces, Sarah turned to ask, "Antonio, what exactly happened?"
Antonio shook his head. "When I went in, the fire had already spread. The metal cabinets on both sides had fallen, and I saw Elara holding Ryan and rolling to the side. If she hadn't moved quickly, Ryan would have been the one hit."
As for the exact cause of the fire, they would have to wait for the amusement park's investigation results.
The atmosphere instantly became serious. So, it was really Elara who saved Ryan. Did that make Elara a benefactor to their family?
Ryan couldn't stop crying, thinking it was all his fault.
If he hadn't been scared and frozen in place, Elara wouldn't have been injured trying to save him!
What if something really happened to Elara?
Ryan was filled with thoughts of Elara, afraid she was seriously injured, afraid she was in pain, and even more afraid she would leave him. He even wished Elara hadn't saved him!
If only he could take Elara's pain.
It was the first time he had such a thought, and he didn't know why Elara had become so important to him in such a short time. But he couldn't think about that now.
Half an hour later, the emergency room door opened.
The doctor came out and removed his mask. "The patient's waist is seriously injured, with a minor fracture. She needs to rest in bed for a while."
Sarah quickly stood up and asked, "Doctor, is there anything else?"
"No, you can rest assured."
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but the worry on Ryan's face didn't ease. He nervously watched the nurse push the bed out. "Elara, how do you feel?"
The nurse glanced at him and smiled. "The patient will probably wake up later. Let her rest for now."
She then noticed the crowd at the door and was slightly surprised. "Who are you to the patient?"
Sarah looked at Ryan, whose eyes were red from crying, full of worry and pain.
She sighed silently. "Friends, I guess."
The nurse's eyes flashed with surprise. "Ms. West has been to the hospital many times. She usually comes alone. I've never heard of her having so many friends."
Sarah was a bit surprised. "She's been to the hospital many times?"
