Chapter 948 The Annoying Bob

Sarah was deeply concerned about Antonio's current situation.

Back at the Valencia Villa, the kids were surprised to see Nia. They surrounded her, chatting non-stop and trying to cheer her up.

"Mommy... is this Eden? Where did she go? Why didn't she come back with you and Daddy earlier?"

"Eden is so cute!"

Harper gave her a kiss. "Now I'll have someone to wear pretty dresses with Mommy!"

Sarah was taken aback.

This wasn't Eden, not their sister.

But looking at this scene that should have belonged to her, she felt a lump in her throat and couldn't bring herself to deny it. After all, she hadn't figured out how to explain Eden's absence to the kids, so she hadn't told them the truth right away.

Was this really fate? After losing Eden, an angelic child like this came into their lives.

Sarah watched them gathered around the crib, waving their hands and making Nia laugh. A nerve deep inside her softened, and she couldn't help but smile.

She felt a stolen sense of happiness, fermenting in her heart.

Let it be...

She would just be a thief who loved her daughter too much.

Seeing the kids having fun, Sarah quickly went to find Antonio. Fortunately, the lawyer was reliable and said it would be resolved soon. Antonio, worried about her health, told her to go home and wait.

Reluctantly, Sarah went home to get the little ones to bed.

"Alright, you all have school tomorrow. It's time to go to sleep."

Ryan and Brian were the first to say goodnight and head to their rooms.

Ethan and Harper lingered, not wanting to leave.

"Mommy... is Eden going to sleep with you?"

Sarah paused. "Yes... she's too little to sleep on her own."

Nia wasn't in good health and had a big temper. She couldn't just leave her with the house staff...

Harper and Ethan exchanged glances. "If Eden stays with Mommy, she won't disappear! We'll play with her after school tomorrow!"

With that, they dashed off.

Sarah stood still, dazed.

Were they... worried Eden would disappear again?

But this wasn't Eden. Nia was only here temporarily, a stolen moment that would eventually have to be returned.

Sarah clenched her fingers, feeling a mix of emotions.

She hesitated for a moment, then got into bed, lying next to Nia.

Nia was so small, barely a tiny bundle, softly leaning against her arm, full of dependence.

Sarah didn't even realize her eyes were red. A wave of inexplicable happiness and contentment washed over her, making her hold the child beside her tightly.

Antonio had spent the day at the police station but hadn't been mistreated. The officers knew he was the Harrington family's heir and treated him with a certain respect.

"Mr. Harrington, we'll notify you as soon as we get to the bottom of this. In the meantime, we hope you'll cooperate with our investigation."

They also thought it unlikely that a well-known businessman would assault a housekeeper. It wasn't an easy conclusion to draw.

Antonio waved calmly. "Thank you. I'll head home now. Feel free to contact me if you need anything."

He was mainly worried about Sarah.

She must be terrified.

Rushing home, Antonio felt a mix of emotions as he looked at the darkened house.

He thought Sarah would be too worried to sleep, which was why he hurried back. But she wasn't worried at all, not even leaving a light on for him?

Fine... Sarah's sleep was more important.

Antonio took a deep breath and turned on the bedside lamp.

The room was dimly lit, revealing everything, including Sarah lying in bed with a baby beside her.

His eyebrows shot up in disbelief.

This was the Morrison family's child!

After everything that happened today, Sarah had brought this child home!

Antonio felt a surge of anger, burning away his rationality. He couldn't hold back any longer and spoke in a low, heavy voice. "Sarah!"

"What is it..."

Sarah wasn't in a deep sleep. Hearing his voice, she instinctively responded before slowly opening her eyes.

She saw Antonio standing by the bed.

Her eyes lit up with surprise as she sat up. "You're back?"

Antonio's eyes were cold, but he tried to suppress his emotions. "If I hadn't come back, were you planning to bring other men home too?"

Sarah froze. "What do you mean?"

"What do I mean?"

He pointed at the sleeping Nia. "After everything that happened today, you're still not satisfied? You brought trouble right into our home?!"

If it weren't for the Morrison family, none of this would have happened. Yet this ungrateful Sarah not only agreed to be Nia's godmother but also brought her home!

"What do you mean, 'everything that happened'? Did I want any of this?!"

Was Antonio being unreasonable?

Sarah was furious. She pushed his hand away from Nia. "And how can you talk about a child like that? She's only a few months old. What does she know?!"

No matter how inappropriate Bob's behavior was today, the child was innocent.

"She doesn't know." Antonio looked at her coldly, sneering. "But Bob does."

"This child is just his excuse to get close to you. Now that you've brought her home, he'll have more reasons to come around. And you'll keep this close contact?"

How could he say something so irritating?

Sarah was livid. For the first time, she found Antonio completely unreasonable. She didn't want to argue anymore and pointed to the door. "Talk to me when you've cleared your head! Tonight, you sleep outside!"

Otherwise, with his current attitude, he'd drive her mad!

Antonio's veins bulged on his forehead. "You..."

Before he could finish, Nia, who had been sleeping, woke up and started crying.

Sarah quickly leaned over to soothe her, glaring at Antonio. "You'd better go sleep in the guest room. If you want to keep arguing, don't expect to come back in here!"

Antonio was speechless.

This Sarah!

She actually confronted him here!

He wanted to say more, but Nia's crying wouldn't stop. The patient Sarah was entirely focused on the child, not listening to a word he said.

The more Antonio thought about it, the angrier he got, but he was at a loss.

He had planned to take Sarah to visit some orphanages in the next few days, hoping to find a child they could adopt. It might help distract her and aid her recovery.

But he hadn't expected this!

Bob had beaten him to it!
