Chapter 511 Rumors Abound

Could there be details about that avalanche that she didn't know about?
Sarah played the recording she had obtained from the doctor for Antonio. "Listen for yourself."
Upon learning the whole truth, all the emotions on Antonio's face turned into blazing fury. He made a move to rush to Serene's house.
Sarah stopped him. "Wait a moment. Find the person in charge of the ski resort and ask what exactly happened that year. I want to know the whole truth."
"Okay!" Antonio immediately sent someone to contact the person in charge of the ski resort.
Although it was something that happened more than ten years ago, because an avalanche had occurred, the ski resort and other rescue facilities still had very detailed records.
The manager of the ski resort quickly sent over the records of that day.
Antonio looked at the list that was sent over. There were thousands of names on it. He searched through them one by one until he saw Serene's name.
"Serene... huh."
Antonio scoffed coldly as he pulled out the information James had found about Serene. It matched perfectly.
"Serene was in an orphanage before she recognized your father. She was a temporary worker at the ski resort. According to the rescuers, she survived by hiding in a cave at the time."
Now that the truth was out, Antonio and Sarah both calmed down.
After learning that he'd been deceived for so long, Antonio wished he could tear Serene to pieces immediately!
The two were silent for a while.
After a while, the hospital called. It was the nurse from before.
"Ms. Miller, you should come back quickly. Mr. Jerrett's examination is over, and he's awake now. He says he wants to see you."
Without wasting a second, Sarah immediately asked Antonio to drive back to the hospital.
Sarah practically ran to the door of the ward, but when she heard Kevin talking to the nurse about how wonderful Serene was, she froze in place like a statue.
Although Kevin only recognized Sarah as his daughter, in his memory, his daughter's name was still Serene...
Tears instantly flowed from Sarah's eyes, and once she started crying, she couldn't stop.
The old man on the bed was already on the verge of death, yet he was still being deceived by Serene.
She didn't yet know if the person who had drugged him was arranged by Serene, but if it was, Sarah would tear Serene to pieces even if it killed her!
This was the biological father she had been searching for half her life, the man her mother had been longing for before she died. Yet Serene was tormenting him right under her nose!
It was unforgivable!
Antonio gently patted Sarah's shoulder. "Sarah, go in. Dad has been waiting for you for a long time."
Yes, he had been waiting for a long time.
Sarah walked in; her vision blurred by tears.
She practically threw herself in front of the bed, tightly gripping Kevin's hand.
"Dad, it's me, Dad! It's me! I'm Sarah; I'm Sarah!"
Kevin was stunned. He looked at the woman crying while clutching his hand, but he had no idea what was going on.
"Silly girl, of course I know it's you. What's wrong?"
Sarah couldn't speak. "It's me, Dad. Dad, I'm really your daughter, Dad..."
Kevin was even more confused and began anxiously comforting his precious daughter, "Sweetheart, don't cry, okay? Oh, you poor thing."
While Kevin was comforting his daughter, he looked at Antonio.
He noticed that his eyes were also red; what on earth had happened?
Antonio choked up as well. He felt even more sorry for Sarah as he watched father and daughter recognize each other, yet not truly recognize each other.
If it weren't for Serene, Sarah wouldn't have been searching for her father for so many years without any leads and been so tragically deceived by Victor Edwards, nearly losing her life.
Antonio walked in and put his arm around Sarah's shoulder. "Sarah, stop crying. You're confusing Dad."
"Sweetheart, did this rascal bully you? Dad will help you teach him a lesson."
With that, Kevin symbolically hit Antonio.
Sarah shook her head, pushing Antonio away. "You go out; I don't want to see you."
Antonio had no choice but to comply. He knew that Sarah wanted to spend some quality time with her father.
"Alright, I'll wait outside then. Call me if you need anything." Antonio obediently stepped out.
Sarah still nestled against Kevin, silently shedding tears.
Kevin comforted his daughter, stroking her head, assuming the young couple had a quarrel and hadn't made up yet.
Antonio silently stood guard outside the ward while occasionally looking inside. It wasn't until he saw Sarah had stabilized her emotions and was chatting with Kevin that his worries finally subsided.
Then, James came over. "Mr. Valencia, you were looking for me?"
Antonio's eyes were filled with a cold light that was too chilling to look directly at.
"Keep a tight watch on the Jerrett family home. We can't let Serene out of our sight. Also, freeze all accounts of the SK Group, including Serene's personal account. Remember, don't give anything away. Do it quietly and gradually."
James complied and hurried off to make the arrangements.
SK Group had always been under Antonio's control, and all of Serene's expenses were accounted for through SK Group. Freezing the accounts would be a piece of cake.
After James left, Antonio suddenly remembered Victor Edwards’ broken phone that he had found abroad. There was a fragment of a recording on it. To decode the recording, he had given it to Brian.
So many things had happened afterward that this matter had been put on hold.
Now that he thought about it, the woman in the recording was undoubtedly Serene!
Antonio immediately headed home to find the recording.
Meanwhile, at Serene's house.
She was looking at the list of her stolen property. The total value was not more than a million, and the more she looked at it, the stranger it seemed.
There were many valuable and easily taken items in the Jerrett family home. For example, the necklace left by the European queen in Kevin's study, which was a priceless treasure.
So why did the thief go to such lengths to take away some small, insignificant items?
The more Serene thought about it, the more it didn't feel right. She felt like she was missing something.
At that moment, the phone rang.
Serene looked at the name on the screen. It was someone she hadn't contacted for a long time, and she furrowed her brows as she picked it up.
"What's the matter? Didn't I already send the money for this year?"
The person on the other end of the phone chuckled. "Yes, I just suddenly thought of you and wanted to catch up. After all, you are an elite who came from us."
Serene scoffed. "Why would you suddenly think of me?"
The person on the other end said, "Well, someone just came to inquire about the avalanche that year, and I immediately thought of you. I'm very grateful for your strong support of our ski resort over the years."
