Chapter 582 Daddy Forgot It Again
'Initiating for too long can also be tiring. Forget it... Let's coax him one more time,' Sophia pondered.
Sofia sniffed and tried to cheer herself up, jogging to catch up. She pounced on Alex's back and wrapped her arms around his neck, her watery eyes shining. "Alex, don't be angry... it was my fault for saying the wrong things, okay?" Her soft voice had a hint of a gentle tone.
Alex wasn't angry; he just sighed and held her. "Stop messing around. Be careful not to fall."
"If you're not angry, I won't mess around anymore. Are you still mad?"
Alex's face remained calm. "I'm not angry."
Sofia smiled. "I knew you weren't that petty. Then, take me home!"
Sofia smiled on her face, but she felt frustration inexplicably.
On the other side…
Benjamin arrived at the parking spot where Sarah had planned to buy flowers.
Sarah sincerely thanked, "Thank you for bringing me here. Be careful on your way."
She didn't look at the man in the driver's seat and got out of the car.
Benjamin could see her eager expression in the rearview mirror as she couldn't wait to get out of the car. The smile on her face seemed somewhat awkward and was blocked by her hair as she turned her head.
The car door closed, blocking his view.
In no time, Sarah drove off in her car.
"Benjamin?" Isabella's perplexed voice sounded beside him, bringing Benjamin back to his senses.
"Shall we go too?"
"Sure," he replied nonchalantly, his fingers shifting the steering wheel in a different direction, diverging from the BMW behind them.
Sarah watched the car getting further and further away in her rearview mirror, relieved, and pressed on the accelerator.
…
Back at home, she parked her car in the garage and stood in the yard, trying to gather her thoughts.
The events of the day were too chaotic, and she didn't want to bring any negative emotions back to her children.
After taking a few deep breaths, she felt much calmer.
Upstairs, in their room…The three children were discussing with eager anticipation, "Do you guys think that Daddy and Mommy will make up soon? Maybe they'll come back together?"
Harper held her face in her hands and smiled, saying, "I think so, too. We were so successful yesterday, they will definitely make up!"
Ryan nodded in agreement. "Harper's right."
Ethan's ears perked up, and he heard the sound of the door opening downstairs, excitedly exclaiming, "They're back, they're back! It must be Daddy and Mommy coming back together!"
The kids quickly put on their shoes and ran out of the room, one after another.
Ryan, walking at the back, reminded his younger siblings, "Be careful on the stairs!"
"We know. Ryan, hurry up!"
Harper and Ethan didn't even turn their heads. They just wanted to see what was happening with their parents as soon as possible!
Ryan shook his head helplessly but quickened his pace.
The kids rushed down the stairs and found Sarah changing her shoes at the entrance. However, her smile vanished as she froze in place.
"Mommy. You came back so early today?"
Harper walked up to her, looking back a few times in confusion. 'Daddy didn't come.'
Sarah didn't notice the children's unusual reaction and walked over, holding their hands and leading them to the living room. "Yes, Mommy wanted to come back early to spend time with you. Are you happy?"
'If Daddy also came back, it would be even happier.'
Ryan and Ethan exchanged a glance but didn't say anything.
The TV in the living room was on, and the voices inside became clearer as they approached.
The gossip news voiceover gradually made the three kids nervous. "The Harrington Group's CEO, Benjamin Harrington, was spotted shopping at a furniture store with his fiancée, appearing intimate and potentially creating a love nest."
The TV also showed photos.
Ethan quickly ran a few steps and stood in front of the TV.
He only partially blocked the large television screen, and Sarah calmly glanced at it, clearly seeing the photos on top.
However, she felt somewhat helpless because of Ethan's actions. 'Does he really think he can block it?'
Ethan also realized that his actions were a little foolish, so he touched his nose and stepped aside.
Ryan and Harper looked at Mommy's reaction and felt that something was off. They couldn't help but feel a bit worried. How could this be?
'Doesn't Mommy feel sad when she sees Daddy with another woman?'
Harper bit her lip and reached out to tug at Ryan's clothes.
After thinking for a moment, Ryan cautiously approached.
"Mommy... Nowadays, gossip reporters are really boring. They make up stories and present them as if they were true. They even dare to publish this kind of photos without fear of legal consequences."
Sarah sat on the sofa and rubbed her neck with her hand.
Her gaze remained on the television.
No emotions could be seen on her face as she casually said, "It may not necessarily be made up. They seem to be a good match, and they are engaged after all. It's not wrong if good things are about to happen."
Upon hearing this, the children immediately became anxious.
'Why isn't Mommy worried at all? That's Daddy! How can Daddy be with someone else?'
Harper's face contorted with bitterness. She couldn't believe their plan had been completely useless.
'But the operation at the racetrack seemed so successful. Why hasn't Daddy remembered anything?'
