Chapter 374 Honey, Let's Go to Sleep

"Of course not. It's me who owes you," Antonio said, holding Sarah's hand. I owe you and can never repay you in this lifetime, so I plan on paying you back in the next."

"No need for that." Sarah bit her lip. "Let's eat quickly and stop talking."

Antonio obediently stayed silent and finished his meal peacefully.

At night, Sarah habitually stayed back to accompany him in bed.

"If you need anything, call me. Rest early," Sarah said, turning Antonio's bedside lamp off and intending to lie down on another bed.

This was a VIP ward, spacious enough for her and Antonio to rest comfortably.

As soon as Sarah turned around, Antonio grabbed her wrist and pulled forcefully, causing her to lie down on the bed.

"Antonio, have you lost your mind?" Sarah was startled, afraid that this rough action would aggravate his injury.

"Why would I have lost my mind? I just wanted to cuddle with my wife and sleep," Antonio stroked Sarah's hair, restraining himself from kissing her in fear she would find it distasteful.

"This is a hospital."

"The bed is big enough. I won't suffocate you you," Antonio said, holding Sarah in his arms. He did nothing out of line, simply holding her quietly.

Considering Antonio's injuries, Sarah struggled a bit but didn't dare to make any drastic movements.

"Honey, let's go to sleep. It's getting late," Antonio rested his chin on Sarah's head, gently nuzzling her in a heartwarming manner.

Sarah no longer struggled and thought it was just sleep; nothing more would happen.

However, her heart was always on guard.

Serene's teary red eyes occasionally came to mind, troubling Sarah.

Antonio had repaid the debt from back then, but what about now?

Serene was the one hurt, losing her freedom for a lifetime.

Antonio didn't think much; simply being able to fall asleep while holding Sarah was already his idea of great fortune.

Though it was a dreamless night, Antonio felt his heart and body relax, as if he hadn't experienced such peace in a long time.

However, upon opening his eyes, he discovered Sarah wasn't beside him.

Antonio sat up in confusion and thought that everything that had happened yesterday was just a dream.

When Antonio saw the clean lunchbox on the bedside table, he suddenly realized and didn't even bother putting on his shoes before rushing out.

Meanwhile, Sarah was in the doctor's office. She hadn't slept well the whole night, constantly thinking about Antonio's condition and Serene's injured leg.

As soon as it dawned, she got up from bed and looked at Antonio, who was sleeping. Without much thought, she tugged the blanket and got out of bed.

After tidying up, Sarah’s timing coincided with the doctor starting work, so she went to the doctor's office.

"Mr. Valencia's condition is not serious. However, he should remember to rest well, avoid excessive fatigue, and avoid any further injury to the head.

"Although it's a mild concussion, it involves the brain's nerves. Plus, he had another bump yesterday, so it's important to take good care of him."

The doctor carefully explained this to Sarah as he looked at Antonio's medical records.

Sarah breathed a sigh of relief. As long as the nerves were not affected, it was only a mild concussion, and he just needed to rest properly.

"Is there anything else, Mrs. Valencia?" the doctor asked when he noticed that Sarah hadn't left yet.

After hesitating for a moment, Sarah decided to ask, "Doctor, how is the condition of Serene Jerrett, the patient who was brought in with Antonio the night before yesterday?"

The doctor hesitated a bit. After all, he wasn't very familiar with Sarah and she wasn't Serene's family member. As such, he did not need to discuss the patient's condition with her.

"Serene is my husband's savior, so I still need to know about her condition to repay her kindness," Sarah said with a smile.

The doctor felt relieved and pulled up Serene's medical records.

Although Serene was not his assigned patient, he had been involved in the initial treatment and had a general idea.

However, he froze for a moment as soon as he opened the medical records.

He had been one of the doctors involved in the initial treatment, but later, the patient was transferred to an orthopedic doctor.

When he examined Serene yesterday, her injuries were not this severe. How did she suddenly become unable to walk?

"Doctor, is there a problem?"

Sarah felt uneasy. The nurses had informed her that this doctor had been directly involved in the emergency treatment and was well-versed in Serene and Antonio's conditions.

Seeing his shocked expression, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the situation that she wasn't aware of.
