Chapter 621 I Also Did Something Wrong

The conference room fell silent, and everyone was stunned.

So sudden!

Isabella also didn't expect that the topic of today's meeting would be because of this. She raised her eyes in confusion and looked at the man above with a majestic aura.

What made him suddenly make such a drastic decision?

Isabella thought of many reasons, then denied them, and tentatively said, "Mr. Harrington, weren't we planning to wait and see a bit longer?"

He replied with a hint of indifference, "Not necessary."

Benjamin showed no emotion on his face, only a hint of coldness in his deep eyes as he continued, "Our sincerity is already sufficient, and now, with Ms. Miller of the Valencia family hospitalized and the group leaderless, it's the best time for us to make a move."

Isabella didn't miss the chill that flashed in his eyes, understanding what was going on.

No wonder.

It turned out to be a fallout with Sarah.

This could be considered a good thing, whether it was for the company or if it was for her. As long as they acquired the Valencia family and The Jerrett Group, that was all that mattered at that moment. With Sarah's personality, it was even less likely for her to have any further encounters with Benjamin.

Isabella naturally welcomed this, happily turning to look at the other executives, saying, "Since Mr. Harrington has made a decision, it's time for everyone to show your skills."

Everyone in the company also came back to their senses.

They had made many preparations for the acquisition of those two companies, and now it was time to see it through!

People began to discuss the previous acquisition plans in hushed tones, making modifications to some impractical areas and occasionally asking for Isabella's opinion.

As for Benjamin, no one dared to disturb him at the moment.

He watched the bustling crowd below, leaning back lazily with his hands crossed.

Sarah.

She wanted to draw a clear line!?

No matter how harshly she spoke, as long as the Harrington Group started the acquisition of those two companies, even if she didn't care about him, she would have to come knocking on his door!

As for Antonio.

At the mention of this name, Benjamin's eyes slightly narrowed, and the emotions in his eyes froze for a moment.

For some reason, every time the name crossed his mind, it seemed like there was a surge of electricity coursing through him. The feeling was subtle, but he could discern the meaning of it, perhaps he envied Antonio.

Antonio had a clear history of Sarah's love, a daughter and a son, and the happiest family and marriage.

And Benjamin, after living for so many years, had everything reset to zero due to a car accident.

He had no past, no memories, no origin. Even with a father and a fiance, he still felt like he was alone.

So, he had to be tough because he only had himself.

Benjamin rarely allowed himself to sink into what he considered to be such a weak emotion.

But watching Sarah today, he couldn't control himself.

Unfortunately, despite having everything, Antonio had no good luck; he died too early.

Benjamin rubbed his brow, stood up, and left the conference room. In any case, he was determined to acquire the Valencia family and Sarah.

Sarah was unaware of all this; after brushing her teeth and washing her face, she looked at her weary face in the mirror, feeling strangely unfamiliar.

She forced a smile, then turned to leave.

Bob entered, carrying a takeout box.

"Mama," Ethan had just called out, but seeing her disheveled appearance, he paused, the rest of his words stuck in his throat.

Bob frowned, handed the bag to Ryan, and instructed, "You take your siblings in to rest for a while; I'll talk to Mama."

They nodded obediently.

Bob, seeing her state, hesitated to ask but couldn't help it, finally speaking up.

"Has something happened?" he asked, worriedly.

Sarah forced a smile, shook her head, and replied, "Nothing."

The beef between her and Benjamin was not something she wanted others to know, and she wasn't in the mood to talk about it now.

She tucked her fallen hair behind her ear and led the way inside, "Let's go in first."

Bob didn't press further upon hearing this and followed her.

Inside the suite, the three children had already taken the food out from the box and set the table with bowls and utensils.

Harper was about to speak when she suddenly noticed Ethan still lost in thought beside her, looking pensive.

She nudged his arm and whispered, "Ethan, what are you thinking about?"

Mama was back; shouldn't he be trying to cheer Mama up?

Ethan's thoughts were interrupted, and stuttered, "N-nothing."

He had been thinking that the room smelled a bit off.

It was perfectly normal before they left, but upon returning, he caught a whiff of Uncle Benjamin's scent in the ward.

Uncle Benjamin must have been here!

Having spent time with Benjamin at Pine Mountain, Ethan's memory of his scent was still fresh.

He couldn't be mistaken!

No one else noticed his unease, all urging Sarah to eat.

With several pairs of eyes on her, even if she had no appetite, she had to pick up her spoon and fork, sighing, and helplessly said, "You guys go play on the side! I can't eat with all of you staring at me."

Bob finally felt reassured and smiled in agreement.

"Alright, we'll go play over there. You take your time eating," Bob encouraged her.

Ryan and Harper were happy that Mama was willing to eat, and they obediently followed Bob out.

Ethan remained seated on the sofa, watching them all leave before quickly moving closer to Sarah, cautiously asking, "Mama, was Uncle Benjamin here just now?"

He had thought about it for a while before deciding to ask.

Sarah had just taken a bite of food, finding it tasteless as she had imagined. Ethan's question suddenly made the taste in her mouth turn bitter.

She paused her actions, the bitterness in her heart held back, and helplessly said, "You found out, but from now on, we really have no relationship with Uncle Benjamin."

Ethan was very smart; there was no need to lie to him.

However, Ethan's response was unexpected.

"Was Mama like that just now because of Uncle Benjamin?" he asked, innocently.

Sarah was momentarily stunned. Then, a bitter smile spread across her lips. Ethan was too receptive to think he could even guess this.

After a while, she said, "Mama did something wrong, which made Uncle Benjamin very angry, but Mama will apologize to him."

Mama did something wrong?!

Ethan didn't understand but suddenly remembered something from before.

"Mama," he hesitated, "I also did something wrong."

Sarah looked up in confusion, and asked, "What?"
