Chapter 897 The Medicine's Effect Wore Off

At the delivery room door, the nurse reached out to stop him. "Family members can't go in. Please wait patiently outside."

"Yes, okay, please take care of her." Antonio stammered, watching helplessly as the door slowly closed in front of him. The feeling of being suddenly cut off from another world made him both nervous and agitated.

He worried that Sarah wouldn't see him when she came out, so he decided to wait for her before going to see Ryan.

The long wait made him extremely anxious.

In the meantime, an emergency nurse came by and said that Ryan's condition was stable. He was likely just frightened and still unconscious, but he would be fine once he woke up.

Antonio thanked her and resumed his anxious pacing, occasionally glancing at the tightly closed door.

'How long has it been? Why hasn't Sarah come out yet?' He thought.

About an hour later, footsteps finally came from inside. A doctor opened the door, removed his mask, and said, "Congratulations, your wife has given birth to a daughter."

Antonio's heart finally settled, and he thanked the doctor breathlessly, "Thank you. How is my wife?"

"She will be transferred to a regular ward soon." The doctor followed his gaze inside and added, "However, since the baby is premature, she will need to stay in an incubator for a while and can't meet you yet."

"Is there any danger?"

"No, don't worry." The doctor nodded kindly. "The most important thing now is to take good care of the mother."

As soon as he finished speaking, a nurse pushed a hospital bed out of the delivery room. Sarah looked very weak, her lips pale.

She raised her hand, "Antonio."

"I'm here!" Antonio hurried over to hold her hand, his eyes welling up with tears. "Sarah, thank you. You've given us another lovely daughter."

"Yes, I love daughters." Sarah smiled contentedly. "The kids will be so happy to know. By the way, how is Ryan?"

"He's fine, just hasn't woken up yet."

"That's good."

Everything turned out fine, and Sarah finally relaxed, closing her eyes and exhaling deeply.

Back in the ward, Antonio was restless. "Sarah, how are you feeling?"

Sarah saw the concern in his eyes and shook her head with a smile. "I'm okay."

She was usually in good health, and this time she had a natural birth. However, the early labor pains had exhausted her, so she felt a bit tired now. "I just heard the nurse say that the baby needs to stay in the incubator for a while."

Antonio poured a glass of water and used a cotton swab to moisten her lips. "Yes."

"In that case, let's stay here for a while. The baby is premature and can't handle much movement." Sarah looked at him with watery eyes. "You also need to think about what to name her."

"Take your time, no rush." Antonio looked at her tenderly and tucked her hand under the blanket. "This is a good time for you to rest. When the baby is ready to leave the hospital, we can go back to Capital City and reunite her with the other kids."

Sarah was very weak, and Antonio stayed with her until she fell asleep. She didn't wake up until dinner time.

The couple called home, not only to share the news of Sarah giving birth but also to tell the kids about Ryan's situation in Northwest Ridge.

At the Valencia Mansion, Brian relayed the news to Ethan and Harper, and they were overjoyed. "We're going to have another sister! That's great!"

Ethan sighed, "I really want to see what she looks like!"

"Me too."

At the mention of this, Harper's smile faded. "But we don't know when Mom and Dad will come back. By the time our sister comes home, will she even recognize us?"

At this moment, the usually calm Brian suddenly stroked his chin and said, "Do you want to go to Northwest Ridge to find Dad and Mom?"

Ethan and Harper looked up simultaneously and said in unison, "Can we really?"

"Yes." For Brian, this was a small matter.

"I'll coordinate things with James at the company, and then we'll leave."

Ethan and Harper exchanged glances and jumped up in excitement. "Yay! We can see our sister!"

"Awesome! Our family can be together!"

Outside the room, Lisa overheard their conversation and her face darkened visibly with hatred.

'Sarah, why is she so lucky? She actually gives birth to another daughter smoothly! And Guadalupe, isn't he supposed to use Ryan to threaten them? Why hasn't there been any reaction for so long? No, I don't even know how Ryan was doing now! I have to contact Guadalupe again!' She thought.

Lisa turned and quietly went downstairs. Once back in her room, she took out her phone to call Guadalupe.

But just like before, there was no answer.

'Guadalupe, you useless fool!' She cursed in her head.

She gritted her teeth, her mind racing. Suddenly, she remembered something else.

She had given the drug to control Ryan's consciousness to Guadalupe's people, instructing them to administer it on time. Now two days had passed; had they given him the drug?

If not, the drug's effects would gradually wear off, and Ryan would regain consciousness. All her previous efforts would be in vain!

The thought of this possibility made her so agitated that her teeth hurt.

At this critical moment, she couldn't reach Guadalupe, and she had no idea what was happening in Northwest Ridge!

Upstairs, the kids quickly packed their luggage. Their small suitcases weren't heavy, and they carried them downstairs, making a rustling sound on the stairs.

Lisa pretended to be surprised as she came out of her room. "Where are you all going?"

Harper, full of joy and without any guard, said, "We're going to find Dad and Mom! Mom gave us a baby sister!"

Brian frowned and took the suitcase from her hand. "Elara, we want to surprise Dad and Mom, so please keep it a secret."

"Sure, I won't say a word!" Lisa pretended to agree, then looked worried. "But you're all so young. Is it safe for you to go alone?"

Ethan, who never liked Elara much, scoffed at her concern. "We've been flying alone for a long time, and this time Brian is with us. There's nothing unsafe about it."

"That's not what I meant." Lisa waved her hands, pretending to be very concerned. "I'm relieved that you can go by yourselves, but Mrs. Valencia is still in the hospital and needs care. How about I go with you? I can take care of you guys and Mrs. Valencia!"
