Chapter 39 I'll Disguise Myself as a Girl to Help You
Sarah had been soaking in the water way too long. Now, the once cozy warmth felt like a trap, making it hard for her to breathe.
Her head was all foggy, and she felt weak as a kitten. After a bit of struggling, she finally just slumped into Antonio's arms, totally spent.
Thinking she was finally giving in, Antonio loosened his grip a bit and went in for a deeper kiss.
Right then, Ares strolled in with his date and caught the steamy scene in the pool!
"Whoa, you two can't wait, huh?"
He knew there was something brewing between them.
Sarah snapped out of it at the sound of Ares' teasing. She shivered and instinctively shoved Antonio away.
With a mix of being out of breath and sheer embarrassment, her face turned beet red. She couldn't stick around any longer and bolted out of the pool, grabbing a bathrobe as she fled.
Antonio was left hanging, his arms suddenly empty. Watching Sarah make her escape, his face darkened.
Seeing this, Ares squinted, wondering if Antonio had really fallen for Luna.
If that was the case, Ares dropped his playful act and said seriously, "She looks a lot like Sarah, but you better know what's real."
Antonio's eyes were glued to where Sarah had run off, his gaze intense.
Ares thought Antonio hadn't heard him. Just as he was about to say more, Antonio coldly replied, "She is Sarah."
Ares' eyes went wide with shock.
The next morning, Antonio cut the hot spring trip short. When Ares said goodbye, he couldn't help but steal a few more glances at Sarah.
Sarah was still mortified about last night, and her mood was sour on the way back.
As soon as they got back to the villa, James showed up. "Mr. Valencia, BrianTech Solutions Inc. has thrown down the second challenge this morning. It's go-karting."
Go-karting? Seriously? Kid stuff!
Antonio shot James a look, saying, "You can't handle it?"
James flinched under Antonio's sharp gaze. Feeling the pressure, he cleared his throat and said, "Mr. Valencia, this isn't your average go-kart track. Check out this map they sent over."
Antonio glanced at the tablet James handed him and saw the map was a real maze, super tricky.
James looked stressed, saying, "I never expected BrianTech Solutions Inc. to do this. I had everyone in the company attempt it, but no one succeeded. Mr. Valencia, this is simply impossible!"
James was stressing out in the study when Harper happened to walk by in the hallway.
Antonio caught sight of Harper out of the corner of his eye and called out, "Harper, come here."
Harper was in a foul mood today, still mad at Antonio over last night. Hearing him call her, she huffed.
She thought, 'Can't you see I'm in a crappy mood today? Stupid Antonio, couldn't even win Sarah back with such a golden opportunity last night.' She'd never seen anyone so clueless.
Harper reluctantly walked into the study. "What do you want?"
Antonio replied, "Try this."
James, seeing her as a lifesaver, immediately handed her the tablet. "Harper, it's all on you."
Hearing this, Harper felt a surge of pride, but when she saw the map on the tablet, her smile froze.
She immediately recognized it as the game Brian and Ethan often played, but it was something only boys liked.
She felt a bit troubled and pursed her lips. "I don't know how to play this."
Antonio squinted his eyes, scrutinizing Harper. "You don't know?"
His implication was clear: then what's the point of keeping you here?
Harper sensed the displeasure in Antonio's words and quickly changed her tune. "I do! But I need time!"
Seeing Antonio's face darken further, Harper's mind raced, and then her eyes lit up.
She raised her head and glanced at Antonio. "I'm not feeling great today, which affects how well I can help you. Let's chat about it tomorrow when I'm in a better mood and can perform at my best to help you pass the level."
She was genuinely in a bad mood today and really didn't know how to play!
Afraid Antonio would get angry, Harper quickly finished her words and ran off.
She ran all the way back to her room, locked the door, and immediately called Ethan.
As soon as the call connected, Harper anxiously pleaded, "Help! I'm in a hurry!"
On the other end, Ethan was shocked and jumped up from the couch, asking, "Harper, what's wrong? Did that bad dad bully you? I'll go deal with him right now!"
"No, no, Ethan, calm down. Listen to me." She quickly explained the situation to Ethan and asked him to help her pass the challenge.
Finally, she pleaded, "Ethan, whether I can pass the challenge depends entirely on you. You wouldn't leave me hanging, right?"
Ethan listened quietly, but his little face grew darker.
He didn't want to help that bad man Antonio!
Ethan thought, 'Why is Harper helping Antonio? Could she really have been bribed by him?'
Ethan's young face was full of worry, lamenting that Harper was too easily swayed. But he couldn't let this happen!
Thinking quickly, Ethan's eyes suddenly lit up.
Antonio was so cunning and deceitful, and Harper was too naive. She couldn't fight Antonio alone, so he would have to take her place and deal with Antonio!
Having made up his mind, Ethan came up with an excuse, saying, "Harper, you found the right person. I can pass the challenge, but I have to do it myself."
Hearing this, Harper panicked. "What? Then what should I do?"
Ethan flashed a big smile. "We look alike, so I can dress up as a girl and take your place to pass the challenge."
Harper immediately agreed to this suggestion, "Okay! Ethan, you're so smart. Let's do it!"
