Chapter 719 Antonio's Mother

The grin on his face slowly disappeared, and sweat started pouring down his back like a waterfall.

Just when he was about to lose it, Antonio suddenly cracked up, "Of course, I'm here to chill with you guys! What were you thinking, Loren?"

His playful tone made Loren breathe a sigh of relief.

"Yeah, man, I've missed you too!" Loren said, trying to sound casual.

Loren went in for a fake hug, his shifty eyes giving away his guilt, even though he thought he was slick. "Long time no see, let's get some drinks!" he suggested.

He figured if Benjamin got wasted, he might find a way to slip out. No way Benjamin would keep an eye on him all night, right?

Antonio sneered inside but said, "Just drinks? Nah, man, I got something better for you!"

He shouted, "Waiter! Bring all the hottest girls here for my buddy Loren! We're gonna party hard! Everything's on me tonight! But remember, it's my buddy Loren who's treating!"

His black shirt was unbuttoned at the top, showing off a chiseled chest, and the diamond stud in his ear sparkled, making him look like a total baller.

Before Loren could react, he was surrounded by a bunch of gorgeous women.

He glanced at Antonio, who gave him a reassuring nod and sneered, "These ladies are all yours tonight!"

When everyone heard that everything was covered, they got hyped and cheered around Loren like he was the man of the hour.

Loren felt a rush, thinking maybe having a bro like Benjamin wasn't so bad. Plus, this Benjamin seemed kinda dumb, way easier to fool than he thought.

He'd lost all his cash gambling recently and hadn't had such a good time in ages, especially not with so many women around.

"Benjamin!" he called out.

Loren, with a beauty in his arms, felt a weird sense of superiority that made him a bit emotional. "Don't worry! You'll always be my friend!"

Antonio raised his bottle in response.

A bunch of women wanted to get close to him, but his cold stare kept them at bay.

When Loren was almost wasted, Antonio staggered over, waving the rest away.

"How's it going, Loren? Having fun?" he asked, a sly grin on his face.

"Totally!" Loren nodded heavily, his eyes glazed with drunkenness.

"Since you're having fun, how about we chat?" Antonio's tone was casual, his words slurred like he was drunk too. "Do you know Harold?"

Loren laughed, "How could I not know him?"

He added, "If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have such a good friend like you!"

He chuckled after speaking.

Antonio's eyes turned cold as he probed, "Oh, so it was him who made us friends."

"Yeah!"

Loren was already drunk and completely off guard.

"It's wild, we didn't even know each other and became friends!" He shook his head, clicking his tongue, "But it's all thanks to your dad Harold and my dad, otherwise, I wouldn't have had such luck."

Hearing that, Antonio's eyes flickered.

He thought Loren was just some random actor Harold picked up, but now it seemed like Harold, being the careful guy he was, wouldn't just choose anyone.

It looked like Loren and Harold had some serious history.

Antonio grinned, "What do you mean? Spill it."

Loren, with that stubborn drunk look, started explaining like it was the most important thing ever, "My dad, oh right, I'll tell you, but you gotta keep it on the down-low!"

Antonio, with Loren's arm around his neck, thought he looked like a total fool but kept a straight face. "Don't worry, I'm a vault."

Then Loren went on, "So, my dad, back in the day, helped your dad with a ton of stuff! No one knows, but your dad was set up big time, and while he was busy with the company, his wife ran off with someone else!"

He laughed, "Bet you didn't see that coming, huh?"

He added, "Thanks to my dad, your dad saved the company."

Antonio's frown deepened. He definitely didn't see that coming.

If what Loren said was true, then the woman who left Harold back then was his biological mom, Carter? He couldn't be sure.

He hid his emotions and asked, "Why did she run off?"

"I dunno." Loren shook his head, pouting, "There seemed to be other reasons, but you can't tell anyone, Benjamin. My dad told me when he was drunk. It's a top-secret in the Harrington Group, no one talks about it."

As Loren rambled on, Antonio's face grew colder.

Whether the person who ran away back then was Carter or not, there had to be some hidden truth behind it.

And Antonio had a gut feeling that these hidden truths might be why Harold was acting the way he was now!

He got up and walked to the balcony, the noise fading away.

The cool breeze cleared his head a bit.

When Antonio first found out he wasn't the biological kid of the Valencia family, he was confused and hurt.

But no matter what, he had accepted that he had no parents.

Having a dad like Harold was worse than having none.

So Antonio never looked into his biological mom, Carter.

But now, it seemed he had to.

Even though Harold was a schemer, he had only ever married one wife and never divorced. Publicly, it was said his wife had passed away.

Antonio let out a breath, staring out the window, murmuring, "Mom, what kind of person are you?"

After a deep breath, he sent a text to Otis, asking him to dig up everything about Carter.

Soon, Otis sent the info to Antonio.

Not wanting to deal with the idiot Loren anymore, Antonio went out to his car to read the info.

One place name caught his eye.

Carter's grandpa lived in a small town called Whispering Pines Village.

Antonio felt the name was familiar, like he'd heard it before.

Suddenly, it clicked. His hand paused, eyes narrowing.

He remembered Sarah mentioning it.
