Chapter 246 Must Find Mommy as Soon as Possible!
After just experiencing a chase, Sarah's sense of alertness remained strong. But he had saved them, and that was a fact. She pondered for a while before finally answering, "He is my husband."
Upon hearing her response, Richard's eyes revealed a hint of disappointment. "He's next door if you want to go see him. Just be quiet, as it could disturb his recovery."
Richard stood up, and he seemed a bit desolate.
Sarah didn't notice this; she only heard that Antonio was next door. She quickly stood up and followed Richard, her heart and eyes full of concern for Antonio.
When they reached the doorway, Sarah saw a familiar yet unfamiliar pale face. Antonio lay quietly on the bed, as if he had been pulled into another world.
She held Antonio's hand and rested her forehead against the back of his hand, feeling his faint warmth. "Antonio, we're safe now, you know..."
She held Antonio's hand tenderly, but it felt soft and weak, no longer the strong and healthy hand it once was.
Sarah's heart suddenly ached, and the tears, which had been swirling in her eyes, burst out uncontrollably. "You have to wake up, okay? Don't leave me alone; I can't lose you."
Her voice choked with sorrow, and the tears streamed down her face. Unbeknownst to her, Antonio's fingers twitched slightly while her face was buried in his neck.
Sarah tightly grasped his hand and pressed herself against his side, hoping to lend him strength. After a while, she wiped away her tears with her hand, her eyes reddened, and retreated to the living room.
Richard's parents happened to have finished cooking and brought the dishes out. When they saw Sarah coming out, they looked at her with warmth and concern.
"Young lady, you finally woke up! When Richard brought you all back, I was really scared. Come, have something to eat and replenish yourself."
At Richard's mother's invitation, she took a seat at the dining table, pleasantly surprised when Richard kindly served her food. It touched her deeply, as she hadn't anticipated encountering such kindness from strangers on the island.
This isolated island was a world unto itself. Its inhabitants lived and died there, self-reliant and without ever venturing beyond its shores. They were unaware of any routes to other destinations.
Sarah suddenly felt despair. Both hers and Antonio's cell phones had been ruined. In this secluded little island, how could they be found?!
The table displayed an array of fish, each appearing and smelling delightful.
Sarah managed a few bites, but her concern for the unconscious Antonio dampened her appetite.
"Thank you all for saving us. We will always remember this kindness and repay you in the future."
Upon seeing her reddened nose and her slightly trembling voice, Richard's parents couldn't help but feel touched.
Feeling sorry for her ordeal, Sarah explained to Richard's mother, "I'm Sarah, and lying inside is my husband, Antonio. We were attacked on the cliff..."
She recounted their experience, hoping that they would be allowed to stay without revealing they were being pursued.
"Who could be so heartless?" Richard's mother exclaimed, slamming the table in anger. The villagers, known for their simplicity, felt even more sympathetic towards Sarah after hearing her story.
At that moment, Sarah thought of Harper, but also worried about their children back home.
Meanwhile, Michael received the message from Harper and immediately arranged for a group of people to pretend to cause a scene at the villa.
"Quickly search the place! Find the two kids who stole from me. If you don't, I'll smash this villa!" Michael commanded his hired companionss, burning with anger towards the thieving kids.
The staff that the butler had left behind noticed the situation and guessed that the two illegitimate children had stolen something outside, attracting these people. They hurriedly approached to inquire about the whereabouts of the children.
"How would I know where the kids are? If I knew, would I still be here talking to you? It's more likely that you guys are hiding them! Let me tell you, they stole my money and a very important jade bracelet. If you don't hand them over, I'll destroy this place!" Michael snarled, looking difficult to deal with, while commanding the people beside him to start destroying the villa.
Realizing that they were outnumbered, the staff members didn't do anything to Michael and his group. Instead, they explained, "We are also here to catch the two kids but haven't found them either. This is not the place for you to create trouble. Leave immediately."
After being warned, Michael discreetly checked his phone to see if any message had arrived about the two children. Before receiving any news, he had to continue finding excuses to confront the two.
"No one? Are you intentionally deceiving me? Don't you know those things are important to me? If you don't give them to me, I will keep causing trouble until you hand the two children over!" Michael and his men were entangled in a confrontation.
Meanwhile, Ethan and Harper had already crawled out of the dog hole behind the villa. This secret hideout belonged to the three kids in the house, and no one else knew, so it was safe.
As Michael anxiously waited for the children's message, he was worried that they might be discovered. Only when he received confirmation that they had successfully escaped did he stop.
Out of sight from the others, Michael immediately changed his demeanor and contacted Ethan, "Where are you? I'll come and pick you up. Don't wander around. Stay safe and wait for me!"
After reuniting with the children, he hurriedly brought them back to his own home, relieved that they were safe.
As soon as Ethan sat down, he furrowed his brows and said, "We can't just sit around and wait for things to happen. We must find Mommy and Bad Guy as soon as possible!"
