Chapter 15 He Actually Took the Surveillance
The next morning, in this swanky villa neighborhood, a taxi rolled up and parked under a big ol' tree.
A plain Jane stepped out; it was Sarah, but with a new look.
She found the Miller Villa just like she remembered. Staring at the place she grew up in, it felt like a total stranger now.
She had one mission today.
Sarah hid the ice in her eyes and rang the doorbell. A maid answered pretty quick.
The maid looked kinda shocked. "What are you doing here? Isn't today your day off?"
"Oh, totally slipped my mind." Sarah's voice was different too. She gave an awkward smile and shrugged it off. "Since I'm here, I'll just take another day off later."
"Alright then."
Once inside, Sarah started scouting for a chance to sneak into Lisa's room.
Just then, an older maid spotted her and handed her a small tray.
"Take this milk to Ms. Randall."
Sarah froze for a sec, then a spark lit up in her eyes. She smiled, grabbed the tray, and headed upstairs.
Meanwhile, in a room on the second floor, Lusa was lounging in a single armchair by the floor-to-ceiling window, rocking a silk robe. She had a face mask on, curlers in her bangs, legs kicked up on a footstool, and was leisurely painting her nails.
She didn't look like someone who'd been through hell or had any mental issues.
Sarah got to the door and was about to knock when she heard two women chatting inside.
She instantly recognized Lusa's voice and realized Lisa was there too!
She checked around to make sure no one was watching, then pressed her ear to the door to listen in.
Suddenly, a shocked exclamation came from the room. "What did you say?"
Sarah knew it was Lusa and figured something big was going down. She focused hard.
Inside, Lusa almost knocked over her nail polish at the news Lisa brought.
Her chill vibe disappeared instantly as she ripped off the mask in a panic and asked, "Lisa, are you sure Mr. Valencia took the surveillance footage?"
"Yep," Lisa confirmed. "The security guard said it was his personal assistant who grabbed it."
Lusa's face went pale, full of anxiety.
"Why would Mr. Valencia take the footage? What's he planning? Is he onto something about the case? Lisa, we gotta destroy that footage fast. If there's anything else on it, we're toast!"
Lisa stayed cool. "Brady's going to jail for sure this time. Antonio won't go easy on him. Remember, Brady tried to kill Antonio over Sarah's death. Antonio's got our back."
A wicked smile crept onto her face. "Brady's getting what he deserves. He and Sarah shouldn't even be here!"
Hearing Lisa's words, Sarah clenched her teeth in rage outside the door. She gripped the tray so hard she almost broke it.
The ones who shouldn't exist were them!
They wrecked her family, tormented her and her brother for years, and now they were framing Brady!
But then Sarah realized Antonio had the footage.
She believed it would clear Brady and that Antonio was trying to help by erasing the evidence to frame Brady.
Swallowing her anger, Sarah raised her hand and knocked on the door.
The conversation inside came to a screeching halt.
Lusa, annoyed, snapped, "Who is it?"
"Ms. Lusa Randall, your milk is ready."
With that, the maid carrying the milk walked in. Lusa masked her emotions and went back to her usual snobby self. She waved for the milk to be brought over.
Lisa glanced at her, totally unfazed.
Seeing their smug faces, a hint of sarcasm flickered in Sarah's eyes.
Do they really think they're all that?
As she walked towards Lusa, a spark flashed in Sarah's eyes as she passed Lisa. The next second, Sarah pretended to trip, sending the tray flying, and the cup of milk spilled all over Lisa.
"Ah!"
The hot milk splashed onto Lisa's face and clothes, making her scream. She jumped up, frantically looking for something to wipe it off while cursing, "Are you trying to sabotage me? You're so clumsy. Do you want to get fired right now?"
Sarah stayed silent, refusing to apologize.
Her attitude only made Lisa angrier. She glared at Sarah and suddenly raised her hand, ready to slap her hard!
At that moment, Sarah quickly said, "Ms. Lisa Randall, Mr. Valencia is here!"
