Chapter 169 It's Impossible to Seek Forgiveness

After returning to the hotel, Ethan remained sullen. He knew his sister was in the room next door and was very happy.

He took the opportunity to tell Brian about the current situation.

"The evil woman received the punishment she deserved, but now that Harper is like this, my identity has also been exposed. I'm afraid Bad Guy won't let us go easily," Ethan said.

After a long silence, Brian's voice came through the phone, "What does Mommy think?"

Without hesitation, Ethan replied, "Mommy, of course, wants to get away from Bad Guy as soon as possible!"

"Ethan, that's just your wish." Brian's comment struck Ethan's thoughts.

Brian knew his siblings better than anyone and never leaned towards either side easily. "You dislike Bad Guy and want to leave, while Harper likes Bad Guy and wants to stay. But these are your wishes, and you can't make decisions for Mommy."

For Brian, Sarah was their core, and he respected her choices.

If Sarah chose to reconcile with Antonio, Brian would no longer trouble Antonio in business matters. However, if Sarah refused and still hated Antonio, Brian would secretly continue to battle with Antonio until the end!

"Alright, Brian, I understand," Ethan said calmly.

"Yeah, but can you pass on a message for me?"

...

Taking advantage of the time when Alex was tending to Sarah's wounds, Ethan sneaked into Antonio's room only to find the door wide open.

Then, an angry voice echoed, "Antonio! How could you treat Lisa like this? She's Ryan's mother!"

Ethan instinctively hid outside the door.

The voice sounds so familiar. It is Bad Grandpa, isn't it?

He peeked inside and saw the situation in the room. Harper was not there; only Antonio and Lucien were arguing about something.

"Lisa did something illegal, and she deserves it," Antonio said, his gaze cold as he looked at Lucien "I know you protect her, but she keeps making mistakes. I don't want Ryan to have a mother like that.

"Also, Sarah is my wife and Harper is my daughter. This is what I protect, and I hope you can respect that."

Lucien could sense the underlying message in Antonio's words. His face turned pale, but he couldn't argue for a moment.

He didn't expect that those children were actually Antonio's... Now, Antonio wanted them back, especially that boy named Ethan. His existence would undoubtedly threaten Ryan!

"I won't pursue Lisa's matters anymore, but I will take Ryan back with me!" Lucien declared.

Antonio frowned upon hearing this, disagreeing with the statement. He knew very well what kind of person Lucien was.

Ryan had just lost his mother, and if Lucien took him, it was likely... he would lose his childhood and become another Antonio.

Antonio didn't want Ryan to become like him.

"He's my son, and I can take care of him."

"Now that you have Sarah's children, what gives you the right to make decisions for Ryan?

"Can you make me believe that you still care for Ryan? Antonio, don't think I don't know what you're thinking. Let me tell you, Valencia Inc. ultimately belongs to Ryan alone!"

Antonio's eyes darkened, and he was not willing to compromise with Lucien's stubbornness.

"So, you want Ryan to think that he not only lost his mother but also that I don't want him anymore?"

One sentence choked Lucien!

He thought of his great-grandson's helpless and injured eyes just now. That was his one and only treasure. How could he bear to see Ryan in sorrow? But allowing him to stay with Antonio...

In the end, Lucien coldly snorted and turned to leave.

As he walked out, he coincidentally met Ethan's gaze outside the door.

Upon seeing Ethan, Lucien's anger surged for a moment, then he quickly walked away, cane in hand.

Ethan was stunned by that gaze. He stood frozen for three seconds, feeling innocent and perplexed in his heart. Lucien knew that he and Harper were not bastards but his great-grandson and great-granddaughter. So why... did he look at him with such a terrifying gaze?

He and Ryan were both great-grandchildren, so why was there such a big difference?

Antonio saw the small figure outside the door, and his initially furrowed brow relaxed as he slowly walked toward Ethan.

To be honest, when facing Harper, Antonio didn't have to be nervous because he knew she liked him.

But when facing Ethan... Antonio was at a loss, even afraid to talk to Ethan, fearing he would dislike him even more.

"Ethan, are you here to find Harper?"

Ethan looked up at Antonio, not saying a word, but his eyes were swirling.

Antonio looked into Ethan's eyes and felt a stir in his heart. He reached out to pat Ethan's head, but the latter evaded him.

Ethan snorted with a touch of arrogance, then turned and ran away.

Antonio's hand, still suspended in mid-air, remained motionless. He watched Ethan's small figure receding into the distance, feeling lonely.

On the other side, in the hotel garden…

Harper located Ryan concealed within the rockery, visibly distressed and alone.

At the sight of her, he swiftly bolted away.

Concerned for his well-being, Harper devised a spontaneous plan. She promptly dropped to the ground, emitting soft whimpers.

Ryan, catching the sound, halted and pivoted to behold Harper's diminutive form on the earth. With pleading eyes, she called out to him, "Brother, it hurts. Can I have a hug?"

Upon hearing those four words, Ryan's heart skipped a beat.

What did she call me?!
