Chapter 87 Harper's Dad Appears

The next morning, James bolted to the villa, practically tripping over himself. "Mr. Valencia, BrianTech Solutions Inc. just dropped the third level bomb!"

James looked like he was about to burst. "The president of BrianTech Solutions Inc. is on his way, like, right now."

Antonio's frown made James's stomach do a flip. "They sprung this on us last minute. I got here as quick as I could."

Not his fault, though. BrianTech's head honcho was playing it slick. Big deal like this, and they didn't even give a heads-up? Totally on purpose!

Antonio's face stayed stone-cold.

In this town, he was the big cheese. The president of BrianTech showing up in person? Just trying to butter him up.

Forget the third level. Locking down this contract was the real game.

Antonio strolled out of his study and spotted Harper coming out of the dining room as he hit the stairs. Harper's face lit up with a sweet smile the second she saw him.

Antonio's lips twitched into a slight smile, his eyes softening. "The partner sent the third level. Tag along to the office with me."

Harper's eyes sparkled, and she was all in. "Sure, let's roll!"

She loved hanging at Antonio's company. The staff there adored her!

Sarah, hanging nearby, looked all confused. "What's the third level?"

She'd heard them mention it before but never got around to asking.

Harper's heart skipped a beat. She knew she couldn't keep the secret from Sarah any longer. She gave a quick rundown about the partnership she helped with, skipping the details about who the partner was.

Sarah listened, not mad at all. Instead, she looked at Harper with pure admiration. "Harper, you're a genius!"

Even stuff the Valencia group couldn't crack, Harper handled like a pro.

And that was why Antonio kept Harper close from the get-go.

In the end, wasn't he just using Harper to get ahead?

Sarah silently cursed Antonio, the jerk, once again.

Right then, Antonio's voice cut through, sounding a bit suspicious. "You didn't know about this?"

Sarah's face went pale.

What was he implying? That she had Harper help out just to score points with him?

Harper felt the tension. She glanced around and finally shook her head slightly, letting out a quiet sigh.

There was a lot Sarah didn't know. She had no clue that the partner with Antonio was Brian!

Harper had gotten the heads-up last night and knew Brian was sending someone over today. But Sarah was totally in the dark, including about Brian's current gig.

So, Harper tagged along with Antonio to the company, and Sarah, feeling all kinds of uneasy, went with them too.

A black sedan pulled up outside the building, and not long after, a white luxury car rolled in and parked right across from it.

The driver of the white car hopped out and respectfully opened the door. Then, someone stepped out, taking their sweet time.

Harper's eyes went wide, and when she finally saw who it was, they practically sparkled.

"Alex!" Harper bolted out of the car and dashed towards him.

Sarah hadn't noticed at first, but hearing Harper's shout, she froze for a second and then lit up with surprise. 'Is that Alex Harris?'

She quickly got out of the car and headed towards Alex too.

Standing by the white car was a handsome guy, not even thirty, with sharp short hair and refined features. He had gold-rimmed glasses perched on his high nose bridge, giving his face a softer look.

His gray bespoke suit wasn't flashy at all. Instead, it made him look even more gentle and classy.

As Harper ran towards him, Alex's smile grew warmer, radiating a pleasant vibe.

He squatted down, arms wide open to welcome Harper.

Harper launched herself into his arms and planted a big kiss on his cheek. "Alex! I missed you so much!"

So Brian had sent Alex. No wonder they kept it hush-hush; it was a surprise!

Alex smiled and gently ruffled Harper's fluffy hair. "Really? How much did you miss me?"

His voice was as warm and soothing as a spring breeze, brushing over one's heart, giving a sense of calm and comfort that matched his gentle and refined demeanor.

Hearing this, Harper looked up from his embrace, stretched out her little arms, and tried to make the biggest circle she could. "This much!"

Sarah, who had just walked over, was amused by Harper's gesture. She shook her head indulgently and helplessly.

Seeing Sarah, Alex stood up with Harper in his arms and smiled. "I heard Brady got acquitted. That's awesome!"

"Thanks." Sarah's delicate face lit up with a smile. "You didn't come all this way just for that, did you?"

Meanwhile, sitting in the car and feeling totally forgotten, Antonio's face darkened, his thin lips pressed into a straight line, and his sharp gaze fixed on the trio chatting and laughing in front of him.

He couldn't hear their conversation, but every one of their actions was like nails on a chalkboard to him.

He saw Harper hugging Alex's neck, her little head resting affectionately on his shoulder, and even kissing him.

And Alex holding Harper looked so natural, his gaze filled with affection and love.

The most infuriating thing was that Sarah was smiling so happily at Alex, and Alex's gaze towards her was very... suggestive.

Antonio was fuming, his eyes dark with turbulent emotions. Harper's shout from earlier echoed in his mind.

Could it be that Alex was Harper's biological dad?
