Chapter 554 Ms. Miller, There's Been an Incident
"If that’s the case..." Ethan and Harper exchanged a knowing look and then turned to their brother, their eyes gleaming with a different kind of sparkle. "Should we try to come up with a plan to make Daddy remember Mommy?"
Remembering Sarah would naturally lead to him remembering them!
Ryan's eyes lit up instantly. "Yeah!"
The three kids quickly huddled together, plotting their master plan to reunite their parents. After discussing for a while, they reached a unanimous conclusion: they had to get their parents to revisit memories from the past!
If only their dad would go to places that were significant to them, he just might remember everything!
"Yeah!" Ethan clapped his hands. "Let's start with the CL Racetrack!"
Ryan and Harper agreed wholeheartedly. The CL Racetrack was where their parents had solidified their relationship, and their mom had even arranged a super thoughtful surprise birthday party for their dad there. Although he hadn't shown up that day and they had been arguing a lot afterward...
But without a doubt, that place was very important to both their parents. Otherwise, their dad wouldn’t have bought the speedway later on and given it to their mom as a gift.
"We should have a couple of backup options, right?" Ryan stood up and struck a pose of maturity. "The other two could be Green Oasis Gardens or the Film Studio lot."
One place was a destination their parents frequented, while the other was a spot Ethan and Harper had devised for their parents to retreat to during yet another argument! Now that they pondered it... it bore striking resemblance to the current situation.
Having agreed on a plan of action, the kids stood up, high-fived each other joyfully, and exclaimed in unison, "Yes! Done deal!"
Elsewhere…
Sarah drove to the company and had just entered her office when James burst in, his expression grave. “Ms. Miller, there’s been an incident.”
"What's going on?"
Sarah glanced up, a bad feeling bubbling in her heart.
James, who had always been working under Antonio, was known for his reliable and prudent way of handling matters. It was rare to see him with such a grave expression, which suggested the situation might be quite tricky.
"Horizon Dynamics has encountered internal issues, leading to a bankruptcy filing. Consequently, the company is now in complete disarray, with all operations halted."
Upon hearing this, Sarah let out a deep sigh.
Horizon Dynamics had been one of the J&K Group's most important business partners, and the old chairman had good relations with Kevin, which meant that the businesses had always worked together steadily. The orders from Horizon Dynamics were always substantial.
James handed over the documents he was holding, "But we've almost shipped out our goods, and they're about to be delivered."
The sudden debacle at Horizon Dynamics meant… a large batch of goods might end up stuck with them.
Sarah's mind fluttered with anxiety as she quickly reviewed the information in her hands. She wasn't concerned with the internal problems of Horizon Dynamics—her focus lay solely on the final outcome.
Horizon Dynamics had declared bankruptcy.
Annoyed, Sarah asked, "When did this happen?"
"Just a few days ago," James said, catching the documents she tossed aside. "It's completely beyond saving now."
"Are you telling me we might be left with a bunch of useless stock?!"
Sarah, serious when at work and now channeling some of Antonio's sternness, ordered, "Find a solution right away. We must find a new buyer for this batch of goods soon. If we keep them, it won't be long before they become scrap."
Horizon Dynamics was one of the largest domestic clothing companies, and almost all of their fabric came from the J&K Group.
As for the current order, aside from Horizon Dynamics, it was doubtful any other clothing company could handle it.
The other major clothing enterprises were competitors of Horizon Dynamics. Knowing that the fabric was originally theirs, they would likely not only refrain from kicking the company while it was down but also certainly not entertain the idea of taking the materials.
James nodded earnestly. "Don't worry, Ms. Miller, I'll contact potential companies that might take over the contract right away. We'll minimize our losses."
With that, and seeing no further instructions from Sarah, he turned and left the office with determined steps.
Sarah stood by the window, her arms crossed over her chest.
Her mood uncontrollably slipped into melancholy, enveloped by a profound sense of helplessness.
Why did it feel like she was having such an unlucky streak lately?
Every single thing that happened seemed to drain her.
James quickly identified several potential partnership companies and laid their profiles in front of Sarah.
"Take a look at these," he suggested. "We could potentially work with any of these companies. There might be a chance for collaboration."
Scrolling through her tablet, Sarah suddenly paused on one page, "Harrington Group?"
James looked up. "The Harrington Group has a strong presence in the southern garment industry. They've been doing remarkably well and have even expanded their sales overseas. Their production value is almost on par with their main business."
The Harrington Group was no ordinary company. They held a near-monopoly and had always been based in the south, so there were no previous dealings or grievances with Horizon Dynamics.
The look in Sarah's eyes grew serious as she slowly slid her finger down the screen, reviewing the Harrington Group's information. "Do they already have a steady partner?"
"Yes," James confirmed with a nod. "But I did some digging, and their current partnership is about to expire." He paused then suddenly mentioned another piece of news. "Moreover, it seems that the Harrington Group is about to launch a new brand, and our selection of fabrics, in terms of color and material, is quite comprehensive. Perhaps..."
James didn't need to finish his sentence; Sarah clearly understood the implications.
The Harrington Group was a giant oak. If they could get on their good side, not only would the fabric issue be resolved, but there could also be other substantial benefits. From a business standpoint, there would be all to gain and nothing to lose. The only concern was Benjamin...
