Chapter 331 I’ll Kill You!
In the midst of the university's anniversary banquet, Antonio, who had surreptitiously infiltrated the event under a clever disguise, found himself exposed.
"Isn't that Mr. Valencia?" a voice rang out, causing a wave of murmurs to ripple through the crowd. Antonio, who had been quietly observing the celebration from the shadows for the past two hours, found himself the sudden center of attention.
His eyes had been trained on Sarah, his wife, who was the belle of the ball. Her radiant confidence and beauty had filled him with a sense of pride, yet a twinge of jealousy had also pricked at his heart as he watched men, like Asa, who had once vied for her affections, approach her time and again.
Before he could react, he was swept up in the ensuing commotion, his presence at the celebration becoming the hot topic of the evening.
"Mr. Valencia, what an honor to have you here!"
"Mr. Valencia, here's my business card..."
With a practiced smile, Antonio navigated the sea of people attempting to curry his favor, all the while feeling a sense of unease. He had intended to remain unnoticed, and the prospect of Sarah discovering his presence filled him with apprehension.
As fate would have it, Sofia, a familiar face in the crowd, approached him. "Mr. Valencia, what a coincidence?" she remarked, her knowing gaze piercing through his facade.
Antonio cleared his throat, feigning nonchalance. "I had some business negotiations nearby and decided to drop by after they concluded early."
"Does Sarah know about your business negotiations?" Sofia asked, her tone suggesting she had no intention of blowing his cover.
"Sarah has been preoccupied with the anniversary celebration, I didn't want to disturb her," Antonio deflected, quickly changing the subject. "Where is Sarah? I thought she was with you?"
A flicker of surprise crossed Sofia's face. "Yes, where is Sarah? She was here just a moment ago."
A wave of anxiety washed over Antonio. His presence at the venue was no secret, and it was unlikely that Sarah was unaware of it. If she knew he was here, she would have sought him out.
Yet, there was no sign of her.
"And what about Asa?" Antonio asked, his grip on Sofia's wrist tightening, a glacial glint in his eyes.
Sofia, taken aback, quickly reassured him. "Asa should be around here somewhere. Don't worry, perhaps Sarah just stepped away for a moment..."
But Antonio was not convinced. Images from the past began to flood his mind, and without a second thought, he made a beeline for the surveillance room. "Pull up the footage, now!" he commanded, his voice echoing with an icy authority that left no room for hesitation.
As the surveillance footage played out before him, Antonio's worst fears were confirmed. Sarah had indeed left with Asa, heading to the hotel across the street.
A wave of dread washed over Antonio, leaving him ashen-faced. He wouldn't let Asa defile his wife again. He would tear him apart! With a speed fueled by rage and fear, Antonio dashed out of the room, startling the hotel receptionist who quickly handed over the room number Asa had booked.
Without a moment's hesitation, Antonio kicked the door open. A soft murmur from Asa greeted him as he entered the dimly lit room, the faint moonlight casting long shadows. The suggestive ambiance set his blood boiling, the metallic taste of fury filling his mouth.
Without a second thought, he lunged at the figure on the bed, delivering a brutal kick to his stomach. Asa crumpled against the wall, his cries of pain echoing in the room. His shirt was disheveled, but his pants were still intact. Antonio's mind raced, trying to piece together what had transpired.
Grabbing Asa by the collar, Antonio demanded, "Asa, where is Sarah!? If you dare touch her, I'll kill you!!"
