Chapter 153 Finally Knowing His Biological Daughter
After giving it some thought, Lisa limped towards the hotel front desk, preparing to book a room. She couldn't just leave like this; she also needed to stay here.
Previously, Lucien had mentioned that she could become Antonio's wife without worries only when Sarah and the two children disappeared.
So, this was an opportunity.
Lisa entered the elevator with the room key in her hand, her face filled with a sinister expression. She clenched her teeth tightly, took out her phone, and dialed a number.
"I want you to do something..."
…
Ethan and Harper returned to their room, feeling pleased with themselves, but they didn't tell Sarah about the encounter just now.
While Sarah and Ethan weren't paying attention, Harper secretly took out her phone and… went to the restroom.
Harper shrank in the corner, anxiously speaking. "Today, Godfather found a very powerful lawyer for Mommy to fight the divorce case!"
Antonio remained unperturbed upon hearing this on the other end of the phone.
It seems that she still hasn't given up on the idea of divorce. That Alex really went to great lengths to take Sarah away.
"I have a plan." Antonio's gaze was steady, and then he asked seriously, "Harper, would you like to be my daughter?"
If he recognized Harper as his daughter, then he would be the child's legal father. Sarah wanting a divorce wouldn't be so easy.
But Harper didn't know Antonio's true intentions. When she heard this, her heart raced!
Could it be... Daddy finally realized that I am his biological daughter? I have been waiting for this day!
Harper was so excited that she could hardly contain herself. She stood up abruptly, about to call out "Daddy" when the door was suddenly pushed open.
Startled, Harper saw Ethan coming in and quickly hung up the phone, hiding it behind her back. Why did Ethan have to come in at this critical moment? I was so close to being recognized by Daddy!
But... Could Ethan have heard something just now?
Ethan stood at the door, his dark eyes fixed on his sister's face, taking in all of her uneasiness and agitation.
Harper looks suspicious. And she was just on the phone. Who could she be calling?
Ethan's inquisitive gaze made Harper panic. She lowered her head, her big eyes darting around. If her brother found out that she was informing their father, then her brother and mother would treat her as a traitorous spy.
If Motmmy gets angry and leaves...
Harper didn't dare to think any further.
"Harper, what are you doing?"
Harper instinctively swallowed and then quickly came up with an idea. She patted the bathtub beside her, cleared her throat, and said, "Of course, I'm in the restroom to use the toilet! I saw this bathtub just now and suddenly wanted to play with water, but it's too small. Ethan, will you accompany me to the hotel's swimming pool?"
Harper stiffened her neck and forced herself to appear calm. As long as she seemed confident, her brother wouldn't be able to suspect her. If he continued to question her, she would have to use her adorable side to divert his attention.
Ethan glanced at the bathtub but didn't ask any further in the end. He agreed, "Alright, I'll accompany you."
The two children tidied up and left hand in hand. Meanwhile, Sarah returned from Alex's room and didn't see the two children. She started to feel anxious.
Where did they go? They didn't run out, did they? What if they encounter danger again?
Thinking about the previous incident sent shivers down Sarah's spine. An unsettling feeling washed over her, filling her mind with worry.
She exited the room, intending to search for the children in the hotel lobby, only to unexpectedly encounter an unwelcome visitor outside.
Sarah eyed the woman before her, her brow furrowing. "What are you doing here?"
At that moment, the last person she wanted to see was standing right in front of her.
Lisa had visited Antonio earlier that morning, and now she had appeared again. What trouble was she stirring up now?
However, Sarah didn't have the luxury of dealing with Lisa at the moment. She urgently needed to locate her children.
Sarah ignored Lifa. As she was about to bypass her and leave, Lisa spoke up first. "What am I doing here? I'm actually staying in a suite with my son and Antonio."
Lisa folded her arms, a smug expression on her face. "I should be asking you, Sarah, how did you manage to appear here?"
That's what she claimed, but Sarah knew better. Lisa was there to provoke her, to force her to confront reality and leave on her own, sparing herself the effort and time.
But Sarah couldn't be bothered with Lisa's snide remarks right now. Without even sparing her a glance, she continued walking forward.
Behind her, Lisa's eyes darkened momentarily, a coldness flickering within them. She casually posed a seemingly innocent question.
"Do you truly believe Antonio cares for your children? Ryan is his biological son, while yours aresimply bastards.
"Have you ever wondered... if something were to happen to our children, whom do you think Antonio would save?"
Sarah paused, her unease palpable as her body trembled slightly upon hearing this.
What did Lisa mean by that remark?
