Chapter 613 Stop Entangling with Her
He paused for a moment, then answered the call. "Dad."
"Benjamin!" Harold's voice came through with a smile from the other end, "Am I interrupting your work? I heard you're currently inspecting Pine Mountain."
"Not really." Benjamin glanced at the busy staff behind him, his voice calm. "The inspection here is coming to an end, and there's nothing particularly important that requires my personal attention."
"That's good," he replied.
Harold chuckled twice, clearly acknowledging his work ability. However, he had called for a reason beyond work.
Sure enough, the next moment, he tactfully said, "Is there a problem between you and Isabella? I just spoke to her on the phone, and she didn't seem very happy."
Benjamin raised an eyebrow slightly, calmly stating, "It's nothing."
"Men, having multiple women is indeed not a big deal." Harold didn't intend to blame him for this matter, his tone still affectionate as he continued, "It's just that some women are not pure in their intentions, and one has to be cautious."
"That Ms. Miller, I've heard of her before, she's a very capable woman. Benjamin, you think she has so many suitors around her, but she's different only with you!"
Benjamin's distant gaze wandered somewhere.
Sarah was indeed different to him because she resembled her ex-husband.
However, Benjamin always had a deep respect and trust for his father, and his father seemingly had no reason to deceive him in such matters.
So, with a slightly dry throat, he asked, "Why?"
"Think about it carefully," Harold sighed, sounding genuinely concerned, then added, "If she gets you. The Jerrett Group and the Valencia family can avoid being acquired. Dad is just worried that you might be disappointed in Sarah and end up being deceived without knowing it."
Benjamin was reluctant to believe this statement.
But he trusted his father's words.
His dark eyes narrowed slightly as he replied. "Don't worry, I'll be careful."
"Good." Harold naturally believed that Benjamin would heed his words, and his tone relaxed even more, "You should also treat Isabella well. She's your fiancée."
"I got it," he replied.
Ending the call, Benjamin held his phone with complex emotions, his deep gaze cold.
Exploitation!
It would be best if Sarah didn't have any ulterior motives.
"Mr. Harrington!" Mr. Joshua, not far away, saw him finish the call and waved him over, "Could you come over for a moment? We need to confirm the final plan."
Benjamin collected his thoughts and turned over.
"Thank you all." He said as he took the data material handed over by Daniel, "Our inspection this time has been very effective. Once we return, we can quickly arrange for the engineering team to enter the mountain."
"Yes!" Aiden was also pleased, feeling a sense of hope, also added, "I hope that with the joint efforts of your two groups, Pine Mountain can maintain its original simplicity and shine brightly."
"Sure thing, Mr. Thompson, rest assured," Benjamin answered.
"Of course, I am assured, you are all role models for the young people!" Aiden praised and had great trust in their character and work abilities.
"Sarah is also a good girl, but why is it just you today? Where is your fiancée?" he inquired, curiously.
Aiden had previously made jokes about Benjamin and Sarah, and it was only after returning that the secretary mentioned that Benjamin had a fiancée, which was a bit awkward!
Benjamin smiled politely, "She's not feeling well, so she's resting in the room."
"I see." Aiden nodded knowingly. He gently suggested, "The temperature and humidity on this mountain are high, so it's easy to get sick. Make sure to take care of her when you get back."
Someone nearby chimed in, "Mr. Harrington's work ethic is outstanding, and unexpectedly, he dotes on his fiancée very much, making everyone envious!"
"Yes, indeed! Mr. Harrington and Ms. Moore are also a perfect match," the voices echoed one after another, all praising him and Isabella.
What they said was true; they were indeed a well-matched couple in terms of appearance and family background. Benjamin smiled faintly in gratitude, feeling a sense of illusion.
He and Isabella were indeed a perfect match. They would get married, run the Harrington Group together, and raise children in the future. That was the life path she should take.
Not like Sarah, a woman who lost her husband and was entangled with two children.
That unacceptable relationship needed to end.
If he really got entangled with Sarah and it hindered his goal of acquiring the Valencia family and the Jerrett Group, he would be letting himself, his father, and the entire Harrington Group down.
But for some reason, the thought of this outcome, of having no relationship with Sarah from now on, brought a pang of pain to Benjamin's heart.
Not severe, but spreading like a chronic illness, uncontrollable.
"Alright, let's focus on work for now. When the time comes, we'll all attend Mr. Harrington's wedding together!"
Mr. Thompson promptly ended the small talk. After everyone laughed and chatted for a while, they quickly refocused on the documents in their hands and began discussing them with each other.
"Of course, no problem." Benjamin was also brought back to his thoughts, quickly going through all the data and acknowledged, "From all the data, it seems we haven't encountered any obstacles at the moment. Thank you for making this trip with us."
"That's good; let's head back to the hotel now!" Aiden replied.
Meanwhile, on Sarah's side, she had returned home after leaving the hot spring resort early in the morning.
Bob had driven her, and upon arriving home, Sarah asked him to stay.
Sarah looked down at Ethan, "You go play first; Mommy has some work to discuss."
"Okay, mommy!" Ethan was still worried about not being able to find his toothbrush to take for inspection!
Since Sarah was busy with work, this was his chance! Excited, Ethan smiled and took his little suitcase upstairs.
Sarah was pleased with his independence and walked with Bob to the study, saying solemnly, "I have something very important to discuss with you."
