Chapter 256 He Shouldn't Have Interfered!

When Harper heard this, a vigilant expression involuntarily appeared on her young face.

'Oh no! I had been so focused on seeing my parents as soon as possible that I overlooked these small details! Daddy started to suspect the origin of the helicopter!' she thought.

How was she going to bluff her way through this? After all, a helicopter wasn't something a little kid like her could get hold of!

What should she do? She couldn't possibly expose Brian, could she?

She blinked her eyes, hoping that Sarah could save her.

But Sarah didn't understand her meaning and even followed up with a question, "Yeah, Harper, where did the helicopter come from?"

Harper felt her heart sink, helplessly sighing in her mind, 'Ethan is right, women indeed become foolish when they fall in love! Where has that smart and clever Mommy gone? Why can't she understand my hints now?!'

Her eyes darted around, and she came up with an excuse. "Because I was worried about Mommy and Daddy, I borrowed the helicopter from Michael. Mommy and Daddy, as long as you're alright!"

'Michael? Michael has a helicopter?' Sarah truly didn't know.

She glanced at Antonio, noticing he was also somewhat puzzled.

But that young rascal Michael was someone daring and extravagant.

Doing something as flamboyant as getting Harper a helicopter directly did seem like something he would do.

Just as she was about to continue questioning, a familiar rumbling sound echoed again. At that moment, another helicopter appeared—this time it was Ethan.

"Oh, Ethan is following too!" Harper felt somewhat annoyed, muttering to herself, "Can't let him expose the fact that I sneakily came here!"

At this point, Sarah started to sense that something was off.

One helicopter could be from Michael, but another one came as well. Was that also from Michael? Did Michael's family own an airport?

Unlike the excited Harper, Ethan sat quietly on the helicopter, watching below.

When he saw Sarah, he waved excitedly but didn't show any gesture towards Antonio.

Soon, the helicopter landed, and Ethan rushed over, running towards them. "Mommy!"

Sarah immediately bent down and hugged him. "Ethan, Mommy missed you so much."

Meanwhile, all the villagers who had come to see them off stood dumbfounded.

Was this... Was this for real?

These two individuals they randomly found by the beach, people whose origins and destinations were unknown, actually had such influence?!

Harper didn't care about the murmurs around her and just continued to hold onto Antonio's neck. She tilted her head to look at Ethan, blinking her eyes eagerly. "Ethan, you're here."

Knowing his sister too well, Ethan could tell from Harper's expression that she was afraid he would expose her.

He made a faint hum. "It's all because I was worried about you guys."

He didn't mention anything about Harper sneaking out on her own.

After speaking, Ethan and Mommy pressed their faces together and surreptitiously surveyed Antonio who was beside them.

Antonio noticed his gaze and looked back at him. As soon as their eyes met, Ethan suddenly snorted and turned his head.

Harper watched this scene and couldn't help but laugh quietly. 'Ethan, you're so stubborn!'

Ethan looked at Sarah with expectant eyes, nervously asking, "Mommy, what exactly happened during this time? Were you injured? Were you in danger?"

Sarah pinched Ethan's face and smiled, saying, "We're fine."

At that moment, someone couldn't resist anymore and asked from the onlookers, "Who exactly are you people?"

Antonio calmly responded, “Just ordinary people, don’t worry, we won’t bring you any trouble.”

The situation with Lucien was still unclear. At this point, it was best not to complicate matters. Antonio didn't plan on revealing his identity.

Sarah also reassured the villagers.

Antonio walked to Ethan's side and asked, "Where did you get this helicopter from?"

Ethan didn't even blink. "Michael lent it to me."

Truly worthy of twins, even their lying methods were the same. Antonio could easily tell that Ethan wasn't telling the truth, but he didn't ask further, only wanting to leave this place quickly.

After hesitating for a while, Richard finally approached Sarah. "Are you leaving?"

Sarah nodded, "Yes. We should go home."

"Then, w-will you... come back to visit in the future?"

Antonio happened to turn around and saw Richard's reluctant expression. He couldn't help but feel something, so he casually picked up Ethan and walked towards Sarah.

Ethan wasn't used to having such close contact with Antonio, feeling uncomfortable and instinctively wanting to struggle free. But in the process, he accidentally noticed the wound on Antonio's body. He didn't know why, but his heart suddenly clenched.

However, when he thought about what this man had done to Sarah, his cruelty and hypocrisy, he didn't want to say those caring words anymore.

After much inner conflict, he pretended to speak indifferently, "Are you injured? Is it serious?"

A hint of amusement flashed in Antonio's eyes due to his son's awkward appearance. Still, he maintained an indifferent look on the surface.

The bullet in his shoulder had already been removed and the wound had been stitched up, but there were faint signs of tearing in the past two days,.

However, as a man and a father, he wouldn't tell them about these things. "It's nothing, just a minor injury."

How could Ethan know about that strange dignity his father held as a parent? He just thought that his father didn't want to talk about these things with him.

Thinking about how concerned he had just appeared, Ethan wished he could slap himself. Why was he so meddlesome?
