Chapter 634 Putting on the Diamond Ring in Front of Him

Sarah's eyes widened, her emotions surging like the waves, unable to settle for a long time.

There were matching rings for her and Antonio in the bag!

Back then, to surprise Antonio on his birthday, Sarah had specially ordered a pair of rings. But before she could give them to him, Serene had used schemes to drive a wedge between her and Antonio.

Later, on that mountain, Antonio had still devoutly put that ring on her.

However, thinking back, the person who put the ring on her was no longer there.

Benjamin felt a bit cold. He wiped the blood from his forehead, grabbed Sarah's wrist, and said, "Are you okay? Let's go to the hospital together."

Sarah stubbornly refused, "No, I need to go down the river and get the stuff back."

Sarah shook off his hand and quickly ran towards the bottom of the bridge, as if possessed, she said, "You go ahead! I have to go down."

Benjamin was extremely annoyed and grabbed her again, "Stop it!"

Sarah desperately said, "I'm not making a fuss."

Sarah's eyes grew redder and redder as she continued downward, saying, "You think it's just a bag, but to me, it's the most important thing in the world."

Even if it was hell down there, she had to go!

She couldn't lose the matching rings with Antonio!

Benjamin was puzzled.

He had never seen someone so stubborn and didn't know what was in that bag that was worth risking her life for!

In this weather, even the wind was bone-chilling.

Sarah had just come out of the hospital a few days ago, and she was pregnant!

"Sarah!" He gritted his teeth and pulled her back, almost driven mad by her, saying, "Do you know it's freezing below right now? Do you want to die?"

Sarah pressed her lips together and didn't argue.

Of course, she knew it was winter and that the water below was very cold.

But she really couldn't lose that ring.

Seeing her silent, just trying to pry his hand off her with determination, Benjamin took a deep breath and gave in.

He instructed her, "Wait here!"

His shout was both angry and urgent, startling Sarah.

She had just looked up when she saw Benjamin starting to take off his clothes, quickly shoving them into her hands. Benjamin said, "Stay up here, and wait, I'll go get it!"

His voice was harsh, and his expression was grim.

However, he didn't waste any time, quickly descending the small path beside them. The icy water gradually covered his long legs, eventually stopping at his waist.

Sarah stood above, feeling her heart about to leap out of her chest.

She didn't dare make a sound, afraid of distracting Benjamin below.

Fortunately, the bag hadn't fallen too deep.

Benjamin endured the bone-chilling cold, walking a short distance forward, barely able to lean over and grab the bag's strap.

Just as he got hold of it, his foot suddenly slipped, and he almost fell into the water. Sarah's heart nearly jumped out and she shouted, "Be careful!"

Luckily, Benjamin quickly regained his footing, glanced at her, and turned to head back to shore.

He handed the bag and said, "Here you go."

His voice seemed soaked with the cold from the water, along with his clothes, exuding a chilling aura.

Just like his mood.

Benjamin felt that Sarah had no conscience at all!

Clearly, he had helped her retrieve the item, was soaking wet, and injured, yet she didn't show a bit of concern. Her eyes were glued to that damn bag!

Sarah had no time to care about him, and she anxiously opened her handbag.

She exclaimed in relief, "Thank goodness!"

She cried tears of joy, taking out the ring and slipping it onto her slightly trembling hand, "Thank goodness it wasn't lost."

Benjamin, very displeased, shook the water off himself, his gaze unintentionally sweeping over.

He just wanted to see what was so important that she had to risk her life to retrieve it.

It was a diamond ring.

The design wasn't complicated, but there was a unique touch around the diamond, like a highlight, giving the ring a soul.

And for some reason,

The moment Benjamin saw the ring, he had a strange feeling in his mind, as if something was trying to break free and struggle out.

But when he tried to capture that feeling, it slipped away like sand through his fingers.

This feeling made Benjamin very uncomfortable.

He frowned when his gaze moved up to Sarah's face, which was now filled with a gentle smile, and a pang of bitterness surged in his chest.

He knew this was the ring Antonio had given her, which was why she treasured it so much.

As he watched, a sudden, splitting headache struck him.

The injury on his head made it hard to tell if the pain was from the wound or inside his head.

Sarah, having calmed down a bit, noticed him holding his head and quickly went to check on him, asking with concern, "How are you feeling? I'll take you to the hospital! After all, you got hurt because of me."

Benjamin replied irritably, "What do you think?"

Sarah bit her lip, with her eyes reddened from the cold, still misty, shining brightly in the night.

Worried, she insisted with urgency, "Let's go to the hospital!"

Benjamin seemed impervious to the cold, his deep eyes fixed on her, and after a moment, he responded softly, "Okay."

Fortunately, the nearest hospital wasn't far, just a twenty-minute cab ride away.

Sarah first asked the nurse for a set of patient clothes, awkwardly saying, "Your clothes are soaked and you should change the clothes to avoid catching a cold."

Benjamin glanced at her, took the clothes, and went to the restroom.

When he came back, the previous patient had just finished.

Percy Wheeler examined him and frowned, asking, "How did you get such a serious head injury? Did you get in a fight?"

Benjamin's face didn't look good, and Sarah, sensing his impatience, quickly said, "Something like that! There was an accident, Dr. Wheeler. Could you please bandage him up first?"

Dr. Wheeler didn't say anything more and began preparing to disinfect the wound.

The cut on Benjamin's head wasn't small and needed stitches. Watching Dr. Wheeler's meticulous work, Sarah felt anxious and a bit distressed.

She anxiously inquired, "Dr. Wheeler, in his condition, there shouldn't be any lasting effects, right?"

After all, Benjamin got hurt because of her. If it caused any lasting damage, she would owe him a big favor.

Dr. Wheeler continued his work while answering, "It's hard to tell just by looking externally, especially with a head injury. My recommendation is to get a CT scan to be sure."

Benjamin frowned, clearly reluctant.

He felt fine and thought stitches would suffice, and there was no need for a CT scan!

Seeing his reaction, Sarah knew what Benjamin was thinking and quickly said before he could speak, "Okay, we'll do it!"
