Sarah's nose tingled, her tears welling up in her eyes.
Startled by the sound, Antonio abruptly opened his eyes and used the wall for support to stood up.
"Sarah, you're up."
Just as he finished his sentence, his legs gave way beneath him.
After sitting motionless throughout the entire night, his legs had become numb, but Antonio paid it no mind.
Sarah couldn't hide her heartache as she gazed at Antoniobefore her. His hoarse voice made it impossible for her to continue being strong.
Sarah knew Antonio's personality better than anyone. How could an egoistic person foolishly sit in the hallway all night?

"Sarah, are you feeling any better? Do you still feel any discomfort? Should I call the doctor to have a look? I'm still a bit worried."
Antonio looked at Sarah with concern, his eyes filled with care and no impurities.

Antonio lowered his eyelids, suppressing his various grievances. "Before you called me to interrogate if Lisa's child was mine."
Sarah remembered the voices she had heard outside the bedroom all those years ago. From that moment on, she and Antonio had started drifting from each other, growing further apart.
Sarah suddenly recalled that Antonio would often stay out all night without explanation during that time.
He would claim to be working late or having business engagements outside when she called. He would frequently disappear and often wouldn't come home or answer her calls.
Sarah bit her lip, feeling somewhat unwilling, and asked, "So, you didn't come home intentionally and distanced yourself from me at that time because of that photo, right?
"Back then, when I called you to question Ryan's identity, and you didn't explain, was it also because of this?"
Antonio opened his mouth but remained silent.
At that time, he had deliberately let Sarah misunderstand and made her upset as he was fueled by anger. It was indeed because of this matter.
When he saw the photo, his whole world collapsed. He didn't know how to face Sarah anymore.
He hadn't wanted to give up on her but couldn't accept that she had betrayed him.
Thus, he had chosen to escape reality.
Sarah looked at the silent Antonio and knew that her guess was correct.
'So, he really didn't trust me. He actually believed that I am capable of anything…'
Sarah felt a chill in her heart. She had loved him wholeheartedly for so many years and would have given him everything. Why couldn't he trust her?
"Antonio, please leave. I need some quiet time," Sarah said and turned her head away, trying to hold back her tears.
Antonio held onto Sarah's shoulders. "Sarah, can we just let this go? Can we stop talking about it?"
"Why should I carry the burden of a mistake I didn't make?" Sarah pushed Antonio away. "Leave, I don't want to see you."
Antonio didn't know what to do and forcefully embraced Sarah. In that moment of contact, Antonio kissed Sarah passionately and pressed her down onto the bed.
If they could return to how things were before, none of this would matter. They would be together again, and he would have her back. The past would disappear like smoke.
Sarah pushed Antonio away with strength, unable to understand how Antonio had become like this. Why did he choose to escape? Why couldn't he confront this issue properly? Why did he let this insignificant thing become a thorn between them?
"Antonio, that's enough. Do you even know what you're doing? You said you would never force me. Have you forgotten?"
