Chapter 926 The True Colour Revealed

Lisa was freaking out.

Call the cops? No way!

Her current identity couldn't hold up under scrutiny. This place was out in the sticks, and she had no one to turn to. If the cops dug into her background and found out her identity was fake, she'd be toast.

Plus, she had busted out of prison...

"I'm not going! I'm just a janitor at this hospital... I was just checking if there were any places left to clean. Why are you grabbing onto a regular person like me?"

She flailed her arms wildly, trying to break free from Bob. In her struggle, her mask slipped off, revealing the fake scar underneath.

Working as a janitor had been exhausting, and she had let her guard down. Who knew she'd get caught today?

The skin beneath the scar was smooth and delicate, a stark contrast to her sallow face.

Bob gasped. That long scar was fake!

Lisa was sneaky and fully disguised—she must be up to something!

Bob smirked coldly and pulled out his phone to call the cops.

"I told you, if you have grievances, tell the police. They'll understand. Now, stay put!"

Lisa knew her identity was about to be exposed. Fear spread through her.

She had no choice but to start kicking and punching him. She just wanted to run.

"Let go of me, you creep! What do you want from me? Get away from me!!"

Their struggle was loud enough to wake everyone in the nearby rooms, including Sarah and Antonio.

Sarah, groggy from sleep, stepped out of her room and saw the commotion in the hallway. She was stunned. "Bob?"

Why was he still here?

And what was going on?

Was he fighting with a janitor?

Antonio was equally confused, but his expression turned cold when he saw Bob, who was supposed to have left.

He quickly moved to stand beside Sarah.

Bob, seeing Sarah and Antonio, felt a bit guilty. He muttered, "I was about to leave, but then I saw this woman sneaking around outside the room with some kind of medicine. So I tried to catch her! Do you recognize her? Is she an enemy or something?"

He pushed Lisa forward, forcing her to face Antonio and Sarah.

Lisa was on the verge of breaking down. She should have run earlier. Now she had woken everyone up!

She could only cover her face with her hands, trembling with fear.

What now?

What should she do now?

Her disguise had fallen off. Would they recognize her soon?

Antonio and Sarah exchanged a look of surprise.

"She does look familiar," Sarah said, staring at her. After a moment, her eyes widened. "Is it you... Elara? What are you doing here?!"

The woman covered her face, making it hard to see her features.

But her figure and hairstyle were unmistakable. She was the recently dismissed nanny from their home!

Bob frowned. "You know her?"

"Yes, she... It's complicated."

Since Elara had come to their home, a lot had happened. And now, not long after being fired, she was here at the hospital.

This explained a lot.

The incidents before were no coincidence!

Antonio realized this, too. His eyes darkened, and he took a step forward, his voice icy. "Look up!"

Lisa flinched but covered her face even more tightly.

It was over.

Everything was over!

Before she could think of an excuse, the two men, who had been at odds moments ago, now worked in unison to lift her arms.

Her sallow face was exposed to everyone.

And...

A line extended from her jaw upwards.

The long line contrasted sharply with the surrounding skin, as if it had been stuck on.

No, it wasn't the skin that was stuck on.

It was the scar!

Elara, or rather Lisa, had mostly worn a mask at the Valencia Villa and rarely appeared in front of Sarah.

She had claimed a priest said her scar was bad luck and should be kept away from pregnant women.

But now it was clear...

None of it was true!

Sarah's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at her face. After a moment, she trembled and called out her name, "…Lisa!"

Antonio's face darkened at the mention of the long-absent name. His eyes turned icy as he threw the woman to the ground, staring at her strange yet familiar face.

"Lisa? What's going on? What were you planning to do to Sarah?"

He couldn't believe it. This woman was supposed to be in prison!

How long had she been lurking around them?

Antonio's eyes blazed with anger. He grabbed Lisa by the throat, lifting her like a rag doll.

"So it was you causing all the trouble! You disguised yourself as Elara, thinking you could get away with it? You came here to die under my watch?!"

All the strange things that had happened to Ryan were her doing. Lisa was truly audacious!

"Let... let go..."

Lisa was suffocating, her mind blank. Air was being squeezed from her chest, death calling her. She could only struggle and beg instinctively.

But Antonio's grip was like iron, unyielding.

"Antonio! I did it all for you… How can you… treat me like this?"

This was the man she loved!

"What? Now you're afraid to die?"

"For what you've done, you deserve to die a thousand times!"

The more Antonio thought about it, the angrier he got. His grip tightened, and Lisa's face turned visibly worse, her hands falling limp.

Sarah was also furious, but Antonio couldn't actually kill her.

"Antonio, let go… she's really going to die."

After a few more seconds, Antonio threw her aside. Lisa fell to the ground like a lifeless chicken.

She coughed violently, retching, her bloodshot eyes filled with fear as she looked at Antonio.

He really wanted to kill her!

Antonio's expression was cold, his voice like the grim reaper's. "I haven't heard of any reduced sentence or parole for you. How did you get out of prison? Did you escape?"

Lisa froze, forgetting to breathe.

"Looks like I was right." Antonio stood over her, looking down. "Seems like you won't be satisfied until you're sentenced to death."

Lisa felt a chill all over. Antonio was going to send her back... she had no way out now.

If she couldn't live, neither could they!

Why should they?

Despair washed over her like a tidal wave. Lisa's mouth twitched, then she laughed sinisterly. "Ha ha ha… Sarah, Antonio, what right do you have to blame me?"

"Isn't it all because you're stupid?"
