Chapter 429 I Won't Let You Get Close...

"After learning about your existence, I gained three more people to strive for, including Ryan," Antonio said, unconsciously smiling. "I'm truly grateful for your presence in my life, which has given me a lifelong goal to strive for."

Brian never expected that Antonio would have shared the same ideals as him. It may not be considered grand, but it was something he was willing to dedicate his life to.

Unknowingly, the distance between the father and son narrowed.

Brian watched as Antonio held his stomach with his palms.

After a moment of contemplation, he reached out and gently rubbed it for him. "Mommy said that warming your palms by rubbing them together and then placing them on your stomach can bring relief when it hurts."

Under the night sky, Brian's face looked somewhat awkward, but his words remained resolute. "You're all grown up and still haven't learned this?"

"I'll know from now on." Antonio felt deeply moved, and his stomach didn't seem to hurt as much anymore.

"Alright, let's go back to sleep."

Brian felt a little embarrassed and led Antonio back to his room. After seeing him lie down, Brian returned to his own room.

The next morning, when Sarah woke up, she noticed that Antonio wasn't preparing breakfast as usual, which surprised her.

"Did Daddy already leave for work, or has he not woken up yet?" Sarah asked.

"I'm not sure. We haven't seen Daddy since we woke up." Harper was also curious. "But Daddy's car is still here, so he should still be sleeping in his room."

"Why is he sleeping in so late today?" Sarah muttered.

Now her brother had even more evidence against him.

At that moment, Brian walked over and pulled on Sarah's sleeve. "Mommy, he had a stomachache last night. Maybe you should go check on him."

"He had a stomachache?" Sarah put down what she was holding and headed to Antonio's room.

Sarah knew very well how serious Antonio's stomach problems were. It hadn't acted up in a long time, so why did it suddenly start now?

"Ah." Sarah sighed without needing to think. It must be Brady's dark cuisine again.

Sarah knocked on Antonio's door but didn't receive a response. "Antonio? I'm coming in."

Antonio was already awake, but his stomachache sapped his strength, causing him to linger in bed longer than usual.

"Are you okay? Did you eat something?" Sarah sat on the edge of the bed, her face full of concern, rubbing her hands together as she held Antonio's stomach. "Do you want medicine?"

Antonio's pain had already subsided, but his complexion was still pale, giving him a weak appearance.

However, how could Antonio let go of this perfect opportunity?

He curled up and pulled Sarah into his arms, taking advantage of the moment. "Sarah, my stomach still hurts."

Initially, Sarah hadn't noticed anything amiss. She looked him with a tender expression. "Why is it so severe? Should we go to the hospital? The meal last night must have been too hard. Get up quickly."

Antonio shook his head repeatedly on the bed. "I can't go to the hospital. Otherwise, there will be no one to take care of you guys."

"This is not the time to be strong." Sarah sighed, determined to take him to the hospital.

However, when she wasn't paying attention, Antonio took the opportunity to pin her down on the bed.

"Baby, just give me a kiss," he said.

Sarah blinked, immediately understanding his intentions. "Alright, Antonio, you're trying to trick me again."

"Nonsense, I truly feel uncomfortable. Can't a sick child have some candy?"

Antonio spoke while his hands and feet took liberties, moving all over Sarah's body.

Antonio's actions made Sarah itch, but she couldn't break free from his restraint. "You rascal, let me go quickly."

"I won't unless you give me a kiss." He leaned towards her lips and kissed her.

Sarah quickly dodged. "I won't let you kiss me."

"I'll see if I can kiss you today."

Antonio pressed his entire body onto Sarah's, bringing them even closer.

She playfully patted his shoulder. "I dislike you. Someone is watching."

Sarah had mentioned it without much thought, but as she glanced toward the door, she noticed someone standing there.

Brady stood upright at the door, his expression inscrutable and his gaze shifting unpredictably. After a moment, he finally said, "You two... The kids are still here. What are you doing?"

Antonio and Sarah didn't expect to be caught. They quickly got up from the bed, a hint of embarrassment flashing across their faces.

How could they forget that the door wasn't closed?

Sarah cleared her throat. "Bady, do you have something to tell me?"

'I do have something to tell you. Is his room the place to come?" he thought.

Brady didn't know what to say, wishing there was a crack in the ground that he could disappear into right now.

"Brother-in-law, what brings you here?" Antonio cleared his throat.

Brady sighed. "Um... I came to tell you I made you some soup. I heard you had a stomachache. Drinking some soup might alleviate it a bit."

"Did you make it yourself?" Antonio asked.

"Of course, I did. Will you drink it or not?" Brady felt a little embarrassed.

After all, a large part of Antonio's stomach problems was because of him.

Upon hearing Brian mention that he had gone out alone last night to find stomach medicine, Brady felt a twinge of guilt, especially regarding dinner. He had made this pot of nourishing soup specifically to make Antonio feel better.

He didn't expect to walk in on that scene just as he was about to knock on the door. If he had known, he wouldn't have bothered making the soup.

"How can I not drink the soup that my brother-in-law made?" Antonio forced a dry laugh, his throat tight.

Did Brady really refuse to give up until he saw him dead? After drinking his soup, could he even ask for another serving with his stomach?
