Chapter 119 The Lawyer Sarah Hired Has Arrived

Antonio sprawled on the leather couch, his face still rockin' that cold, arrogant vibe, but with a touch of chill.

On the screen in front of him popped up a dude who looked like he was in his forties.

Decked out in a fancy suit with hair styled to perfection, he looked like a big shot at first glance.

But Antonio felt something was off.

He couldn't quite put his finger on it.

After a quick hello, they jumped back into haggling over that piece of land.

The guy's opening bid was the same as Alex had mentioned, thirty million bucks.

But he seemed to dig Antonio, grinning warmly and saying, "I always value character in my partnerships, and I think Mr. Valencia is a good person. Since you're sincere about working together, I'll offer a price of twenty-eight million dollars."

Hearing this, Antonio didn't feel stoked about saving cash; instead, he squinted.

He felt like the other guy saw this as a game, not a partnership.

James noticed and immediately realized Antonio was ticked off, so he quietly stepped back a bit.

Sure enough, Antonio said coldly, "Thirty million dollars. I don't care about saving two million."

The other guy didn't push it and clapped his hands. "Mr. Valencia, you're very generous. OK, thirty million dollars, deal!"

The video call wrapped up fast. In the overseas CEO's office, the man stood up and bowed to Brian, who was lounging on the sofa.

Brian was lazily sprawled on the big couch, took a sip of milk, and licked his lips.

He waved the guy off, then flashed a smile, his big eyes gleaming with shrewdness.

He'd already gotten word that in a month, the local government would reclaim the land's usage rights.

In other words, Antonio had bought a piece of land that was useless.

Thirty million bucks down the drain for Antonio!

On the flip side, Antonio looked at Alex, saying, "We can sign the contract now."

He'd already hashed things out with the president of BrianTech Solutions Inc. As for Alex, he didn't want to waste another word on him.

Alex didn't mind Antonio's bluntness, a quick flash of schadenfreude in his eyes. "Alright."

Then Alex took the contract from James, gave it a once-over, and signed his name.

Antonio took his copy, his eyes landing on the signature at the bottom.

Brian?

So that's the name of the president of BrianTech Solutions Inc.?

Antonio's eyes darkened for a moment, and he went silent, choosing not to say anything more.

For this deal, he'd jumped through three weird hoops and had to face a romantic rival.

Now that it was finally done, he just wanted Alex out of his sight.

Antonio stood up, not even glancing at Alex, and coldly ordered, "James, show Alex out."

"Yeah, Mr. Valencia," James shot back right away. Then he turned to Alex with a polite smile, "Alex, let me show you out."

Alex knew Antonio had it out for him and didn't let the cold shoulder bother him.

As Antonio was about to leave, Alex's eyes darkened, and he asked, "How's Sarah doing now?"

Yesterday, Antonio had dragged Sarah away from the airport, and Alex was worried sick.

Hearing this, Antonio's gaze turned icy, and his face darkened.

He stopped in his tracks and snapped, "What's it to you?"

What right did Alex have to ask about Sarah?

Alex didn't back down and explained, "Sarah was just there to see me off yesterday. I hope Mr. Valencia doesn't misunderstand."

Antonio didn't bother responding and just walked away.

Alex watched Antonio's back, the darkness in his eyes growing.

Antonio stormed back to his office, tossed his coat onto the sofa, and slumped into his chair.

His handsome face was now dark, his thin lips pressed into a straight line, his hands clenched into fists, looking seriously pissed.

Just then, the phone on his desk rang. "What is it?"

Antonio's icy, intimidating voice made the receptionist manager choke up, but she still reported bravely, "Mr. Valencia, a lawyer wants to see you."

Antonio brushed it off, coldly saying, "I ain't seeing any lawyer."

The receptionist manager was a bit troubled and carefully added, "Mr. Valencia, this lawyer was invited by Mrs. Valencia."

Saying this, she felt like crying, with only the God knowing the depth of her fear..

Antonio's voice sounded like he was in a very bad mood, and now a lawyer had come.

Sure enough, Antonio's face darkened instantly.

She hired a lawyer?

Could it be...

A few minutes later, the lawyer arrived at the CEO's office.

Sarah had hired a female lawyer, specializing in divorce cases, experienced with various scenarios, with a high success rate, and considered top-notch in the industry.

But no matter how formidable the opponent was, Antonio didn't take her seriously.

For the first encounter, making a strong impression was paramount; after all, one couldn't afford to appear weak. So, the lawyer made a deliberate effort to dress up.

She wore a stylish yet dignified high-end women's suit, high heels, stood tall, and had a confident smile on her exquisitely made-up face.

Antonio coldly looked at the woman in front of him, roughly sizing her up, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes.

The lawyer noticed Antonio's gaze, feeling a chill down her spine, but maintained her professional demeanor.

She took out a document and placed it on the table. "Mr. Valencia, I am here on behalf of Ms. Miller to formally request a divorce. We hope you will sign the divorce agreement, otherwise, we will have to proceed with legal action."

The lawyer's attitude was serious, her tone calm yet firm.

Antonio's handsome eyebrows raised, especially at the lawyer's last sentence: Legal action?

What? Threatening him to sign the divorce agreement?
