Chapter 909 Please Save Me

The only blood relative left was that bastard Harold, who was barely surviving in prison and probably hated Antonio extremely. He would never donate a kidney to Antonio, not even if he were dying!

Francis might still be alive, but apart from the kids, Antonio only had her now!

Sarah covered her face with her hands, despair flooding in from all directions. She couldn't even cry, only trembling and numbness remained.

It was all her fault. Why wasn't she the one bearing all this?

"Mrs. Valencia?" The nurse looked at her collapsing state, equally anxious. If both of them had an accident, the hospital wouldn't know who to contact.

Sarah didn't know what else she could do. It felt like her body wasn't even hers anymore, falling into a bottomless pit, leaving only boundless despair.

Suddenly, something came to her mind, and a glimmer of light appeared in her panicked eyes. "Can I get tested for compatibility? Test me first! If it's possible, I'll give him my kidney!"

The nurse was stunned. "What did you say?"

"Give him my kidney!"

"Testing is possible, but you're not in the right condition. You just had a baby not long ago, and your body hasn't recovered yet. You..."

"I can do it! It's just a kidney; I won't die! No matter the result, I can bear it myself. As long as Antonio is okay, it's all worth it! Please, test me first." Sarah tightly gripped the nurse's arm, muttering almost hysterically, "He's the most important person in the world to me. I caused this to happen to him. I don't know what else to do. Please, help us, won't you?"

The doctor nearby looked troubled. He glanced at the nurse and said, "Mrs. Valencia, please calm down. I can agree to test you, but you need to be mentally prepared. Even if you're a match, your kidney might not be suitable for Mr. Valencia, and it doesn't guarantee hope. Plus, your current physical condition is too weak. To donate a kidney, there are many health indicators you need to meet before surgery."

Sarah couldn't hear any of that. She only knew the doctor agreed to test her!

She stood up abruptly, fighting off dizziness, and bowed repeatedly to the doctor. "Thank you! Don't worry, I'll cooperate with the hospital. No matter what, as long as Antonio gets better, I'll do anything!"

The doctor, seeing her frantic state, couldn't help but feel pity. He nodded, "Alright, I understand. Follow the nurse for the test."

Sarah didn't waste a moment and was taken away by the nurse.

All the way, she kept praying in her heart, asking God to let her do something for the one she loved.

'Antonio, wait for me. Hold on, okay?' She thought.

Soon, under the doctor's arrangement, Sarah began various tests, while Antonio, still in critical condition, was transferred to the ICU.

In fact, the doctor had agreed to the test mainly to calm Sarah down. After all, finding a matching kidney wasn't that easy.

The test was just to make Sarah give up. However, whether it was a miracle or not, the final result surprised everyone!

Sarah's kidney was actually a match for Antonio!

The doctor, looking at the results, didn't know if it was good or bad news.

He took off his glasses, sighed wearily, and said seriously, "Mrs. Valencia, congratulations on the match. But to be honest, given your current physical condition, no doctor would agree to let you undergo surgery. It's a responsibility to both you and Mr. Valencia."

"Why not? Doctor, I can take responsibility for my own body. I'm his wife and can also take responsibility for his body. So, this decision should be mine."

"I understand. You say my condition isn't suitable for surgery because I just gave birth and had severe bleeding, and my body hasn't met the surgical requirements. But I also know that medication can change my current condition."

"If I can change, then I can have the surgery."

Sarah looked at the doctor and nurse in front of her, knowing she was right.

Her face was pale, a bitter smile of despair on her lips, as she looked at Antonio in the ICU, covered in tubes. "He was willing to give his life to save me. How could I not give him a kidney?"

"If I don't have this surgery, no one can save him. If he's gone, there's no point in me living."

"So please, save him, and save me too."

During this time, the doctors and nurses had witnessed everything Sarah and Antonio went through. Despite being such a privileged couple, they had to endure so many hardships.

Their unwavering love for each other was deeply moving.

The doctor struggled internally for a long time before finally exhaling deeply. "Mrs. Valencia, you and Mr. Valencia will be fine!"

Sarah was stunned for a moment, then solemnly bowed to him. "Doctor, I'll leave the rest to you."

"And please, don't tell him about this. I don't want him to worry before the surgery. Thank you."

If Antonio knew she was going to use her kidney to save him, he would never agree. She knew him too well.

In the following ten days, Sarah started taking injections and medications, various hormones and nutrients, and underwent endless tests.

She was like a flower growing alone in the desert, standing strong despite the wind and rain. But every time she forced a smile on her delicate face, it made others' hearts ache.

The day Antonio woke up in the ICU, Sarah heard the news, and the energy she had almost exhausted was instantly replenished.

She shoved a handful of pills into her mouth, and gulped down water, the bitter taste hitting her hard, bringing tears to her eyes.

But she felt they were tears of joy.

Sarah forced herself out of bed, handed the cup to the nurse, and hurried out. "I need to see him!"

Her haste made her stumble, almost falling. The nurse quickly caught her. "Mrs. Valencia, don't rush. The morning injection will make you feel weak. Walk slowly."

Sarah smiled and shook her head, moving her legs a bit. "Thank you, I'm fine."

He had been asleep for so long. If he didn't see her, he would worry.

She took a few steps and suddenly remembered something, turning back with concern. "How do I look right now? Do I need to put on some makeup?"

Would Antonio overthink if he saw she wasn't in good spirits?

The nurse felt a pang of sadness, shaking her head. "No need. You still look beautiful. Besides, you've been in the hospital taking care of Mr. Valencia. It's normal to look a bit tired. But, are you really not going to tell Mr. Valencia about the kidney transplant?"
