Chapter 633 Benjamin Gets Beaten
However, she had to maintain a calm facade, and said with a polite nod, "It's fine. If there's a chance in the future, I hope to collaborate with Mr. Newman again."
After saying that, Sarah didn't even spare a glance at Benjamin and turned to leave.
She felt that saying even one more word to him was a waste of her time, and she'd rather think of other solutions.
When she found Sofia, she was happily drinking with someone.
Sarah impatiently suggested, "Sofia, let's go back!"
Now that the investment was gone, there was no point in staying.
"Sarah, if you're tired, go rest first!" Sofia held a glass of red wine, her eyes still relatively clear. She said, "I finally ran into an old classmate, so I need to catch up. Don't worry, I won't get drunk!"
She clearly wasn't done having fun.
Sarah thought for a moment and didn't insist, gently reminding, "Just don't drink too much. Call me if anything happens."
Sofia reassured her, "Got it."
Sarah gave her a helpless look. Her classmate seemed like a decent person, so there shouldn't be any problems.
She wasn't in a good mood and really didn't feel like socializing.
After leaving the hotel, the cold wind hit her face, making the air feel much fresher.
Sarah walked along the roadside, her anger not dissipating at all, and she even felt like crying.
She was just that unlucky!
It was bad enough to run into Benjamin everywhere, but nothing good ever happened when she did!
Little did she know, the person she was silently cursing was following her.
Benjamin saw all of Sarah's venting actions.
As he watched, the anger that had built up in him over the past few days slowly dissipated, and he even found Sarah inexplicably cute.
Unconsciously, the two of them walked to the riverside, one after the other.
The river below had some broken ice, and the air was even colder. Sarah shivered involuntarily.
But the broken ice reflecting the moonlight was quite beautiful. She took out her phone, wanting to take a picture.
Unexpectedly, just as she stopped, the heavy roar of a motorcycle engine sounded behind her, heading straight for her!
The next second, two people got off the motorcycle.
Sarah questioned them, "What are you doing?!"
Sarah, both shocked and scared, stepped back but couldn't escape. Her arm was tightly restrained.
"What are we doing?!" One of them sneered, "Robbing you!"
They demanded, threateningly, "Hand over the money!"
Sarah wore an expensive dress, and her bag surely contained valuable items!
Sarah clung to her bag tightly, refusing to let go no matter how they pulled. Fear and panic filled her heart.
She shouted for help a few times, but there was no one around!
But there was no way she could give them the bag. Inside it was the diamond ring she received from Antonio.
Seeing her resistance, the robbers tried to snatch it directly.
Despair slowly rose in Sarah's heart, but she still clung to her bag like it was her lifesaver. She said, "I can give you money, but you can't take my bag!"
The two men didn't listen at all. Seeing her reaction, they were even more convinced that the bag contained something valuable. They snatched the bag and were about to get back on the motorcycle.
Just then, a cold male voice rang out, "Stop!"
Before the two robbers could react, Benjamin had already stepped forward, throwing one of them aside. His icy voice was filled with menace as he spoke, "How dare you rob her? Are you asking for death?"
The bag in the robber's hand fell to the ground with his movement.
Seeing Benjamin, Sarah unconsciously sighed in relief and stepped back.
One of the robbers said, "I think you're the one asking for death!"
The robber who had fallen quickly got up, exchanged a glance with his partner, and charged at Benjamin. But they were knocked down with a single punch.
Benjamin shook his hand and tried to grab him.
Sarah's pupils suddenly contracted, and she shouted, "Watch out!"
But it was too late. The other robber, holding a heavy motorcycle helmet, smashed it onto Benjamin's head with all his might!
In that instant, the world spun.
Blood slowly trickled down his forehead, adding a touch of wickedness to his handsome face.
The pain ignited his anger, and his cold gaze was like a knife, making the two robbers shudder in fear!
They only wanted to rob, not to kill anyone!
The two men glared at Sarah and Benjamin, covering their injuries as they retreated and said, "You're lucky!"
Then, they got on the motorcycle and sped away.
Sarah quickly ran over, seeing the blood dripping on the ground and Benjamin's half-bloodied face, her heart skipped a beat.
Her fingers trembled slightly as she raised her hand, and worriedly exclaimed, "Benjamin, you're bleeding!"
"It's nothing." Benjamin, a bit unsteady, grabbed the bridge railing for support, looked down, and said with a low voice, "Your bag!"
Following his gaze, Sarah saw that during the struggle, her bag had fallen onto the river's ice!
It was hanging on the edge of the broken ice, already soaked by the water.
