Chapter 781 Are You Threatening Me?
Seeing that Antonio remained silent, Sarah grew uneasy. "What's going on? Did Harold do something again?"
Previously, Antonio had told Sarah that he would handle everything related to Harold, and she only needed to take care of herself and Cynthia.
So when Sarah asked this, Antonio felt a pang of uselessness.
"Nothing. Sarah, as long as I'm here, you don't need to worry about these things. Harold will be caught soon, trust me."He relaxed his grip slightly, pressing his forehead against hers, trying to draw some strength.
Sarah nodded and said, "Alright, I believe you."
Meanwhile, in Ward 9524. the patient had just been saved from a critical condition after a dangerous rescue.
A nurse pushed the stretcher back to the room and settled the patient back into bed.
At the foot of the bed, the name "Frank" was barely noticeable.
The nurse tidied up and turned to leave, only to run into Percy.
She asked, "Dr. Wheeler, the patient should be fine now. He seems to be sleeping peacefully?"
Percy nodded, "Good, you can go back. I'll go in and check."
The young nurse didn't suspect anything, as Percy was known for his dedication to every patient.
As they brushed past each other, Percy quietly entered the ward and locked the door.
He looked at the indistinct mass on the bed, his eyes flickering with fear, and quickly approached. "Mr. Harrington."
Lying on the bed, Harold's face was half mangled, wrapped in thick bandages.
His whole body felt like it had been run over by a car, and tortured, and he was in so much pain that he could barely breathe.
But in front of others, he would never show his pain, as it was a sign of weakness.
He only cursed Antonio repeatedly in his mind.'That bastard! It is all because of him that I end up like this!'
Harold's face twisted in pain, his eyes filled with cold, vicious malice.
He struggled to speak, "Dr. Wheeler, I'm not Mr. Harrington, I'm Frank."
Percy shuddered and quickly said, "Yes, Mr. Campbell, how are you feeling?"
Harold snorted. "Everything is going according to plan."
Indeed, everything, even his amputation, had been calculated by Harold in advance!
He had always been smart, even considering his own life and death.
He had anticipated the possibility of being quickly pursued by Antonio in the tunnel, and although the landmines posed a high risk of severe injury, Harold wouldn't miss any chance of survival.
So before hiding in the tunnel, he had already discussed it with his subordinates.
If he was severely injured but not dead, he would crawl out with his last breath, and his subordinates waiting outside would quickly pick him up from the most concealed exit and take him to the hospital.
They disguised themselves as construction workers, including Percy, all arranged by Harold's trusted aide, Patrick.
Everything went smoothly during the admission, and no one suspected he wasn't from the construction site.
But Timothy unexpectedly paid his medical bills, which Harold hadn't anticipated.
Harold couldn't understand how someone could be so kind.
Timothy had done this countless times for critically ill patients without families during his medical career.
Coincidentally, Timothy knew Antonio, Harold thought through gritted teeth.
And the supposedly dead Sarah was also in this hospital.
It was all fate's arrangement. It was destined that Harold shouldn't die, and Antonio and Sarah should die together!
Percy respectfully asked, "What do you need us to do now?"
"The task I gave you last time wasn't completed, this time..." Harold's voice was weak, and he trailed off, as if too short of breath to continue.
But the underlying warning was hard to ignore.
Percy instantly became serious, "Rest assured, this time, I will make sure Sarah has a miscarriage and complete your orders."
"This is your last chance."
The next morning, Timothy finished his night shift and was about to rest in the break room.
Before resting, he habitually organized the medical records of the patients he had seen the previous night, and Frank was right on top.
Last night, Frank had been rushed for emergency treatment, and by the time Timothy arrived, the operating room was already closed, so he didn't disturb Percy's work.
However, he still reviewed Frank's medical records afterward.
He felt something was off but couldn't pinpoint it.
Timothy thought he might just be exhausted from the night shift, his nerves on edge.
He rubbed his temples and was about to get up when he heard a knock on the door.
Seeing Antonio, Timothy was a bit surprised, "Mr. Valencia, so early?"
Antonio stood at the door, his expression calm. "Dr. Reed, are you off duty?"
"No, I just wanted to catch some sleep."
Antonio stepped inside, "I'll be brief, so I don't take up your rest time."
Timothy understood, "Is it about Cynthia? Or your chip?"
Antonio remained silent.
Finally, he said, "I've decided to remove the chip as soon as possible, so Cynthia needs to be transferred immediately. That way, Sarah can go with her. I've already arranged a hospital in Capital City, now I just need you to sign the transfer papers."
This was the decision he had made after spending the whole night by Sarah's side.
After he finished, the atmosphere grew tense.
Timothy pursed his lips, his tone disapproving, "Mr. Valencia, I've already said that transferring her is not the best option."
Antonio's tone also cooled, "Dr. Reed, if I remember correctly, the final decision in such matters lies with the patient's family, right?"
Timothy chuckled, "The patient's family? Do you mean Ms. Miller? Fine, why don't we go ask her opinion now?"
Antonio fell silent.
He also chuckled, "Are you threatening me?"
Timothy saw Antonio's demeanor turn cold and shrugged helplessly, "I didn't mean it that way. I understand your concerns, and I promised not to tell Ms. Miller about the chip and surgery. I'm a man of my word, you can trust that. So, I'm just suggesting that there might be other ways, not necessarily a transfer. Mr. Valencia, think it over?"
Antonio sensed Timothy's good intentions and relaxed. "Sorry, I'm just a bit anxious."
Timothy nodded, "I understand. I just don't want anything to happen to Cynthia that would cause regret for Ms. Miller and you."
Antonio said seriously, "You're worried about that? Cynthia is Sarah's aunt, and naturally, she's my family too. I wouldn't joke about someone's life. After you mentioned Cynthia's condition, I took her medical records to reliable doctors in Capital City. They suggested that no further surgery is needed, just conservative treatment. Given her age, as long as she can live another ten years, it's a gain."
Hearing this, Timothy also became serious.
