Chapter 269 The Past...

"Come here, let Daddy taste it. Did Harper make this cake herself?"

Antonio stepped forward and took the cake from Harper's hand.

"Yes, Daddy, try it quickly," Harper urged eagerly, no longer concerned about Sarah's expression, her gaze fixed on Antonio.

Sarah finally sighed in relief and caught sight of Ethan standing by the door. She walked over and pulled him closer. "Did you also make the cake, Ethan?"

Ethan shook his head, but his eyes never left the cake in Antonio's hand.

"Ethan, you can't lie," Harper giggled. "Daddy, this Ethan and I made this cake. It was to cheer you up. They say eating sweets makes people feel better. It was all my brother's idea!"

Ethan quickly denied it, refusing to admit that he was worried about Antonio.

In fact, the two children were even more sensitive than Sarah had imagined. Since the night Antonio got drunk, they had both sensed his unhappiness.

"Ethan, you shouldn't lie." Sarah playfully tapped Ethan's nose.

Ethan felt a bit uncomfortable but bravely faced Antonio. "Y-You should try the cake."

The sweetness of the cake couldn't compare to the sweetness in Antonio's heart. He had always felt that Ethan's personality resembled his own the most. They both had it in their

hearts but just didn't want to express it.

Antonio stepped forward and rubbed Ethan's head. "Thank you, Ethan. Daddy loves it."

Ethan pursed his lips, not dodging but rather awkwardly avoiding a response.

Sarah also pinched Harper's cheek. "Thank you, my darlings, for the cake. Mommy and Daddy love it."

"No need to thank us," Harper raised her little face. "It's because Mommy and Daddy are like the Smith couple, so cool. Ethan and I wanted to reward you!"

"What Smith couple?" Sarah was taken aback, not understanding what Harper was saying.

"Here, take a look," Harper took out her tablet from her bag. "There are a lot of news about Mommy and Daddy on it."

Sarah and Antonio finally realized that the day they descended from the helicopter had been captured and circulated online.

And it had inexplicably become very popular.

Nowadays, the top news was all about Valencia Inc. and Lucien ordering a hit.

Next in line were the videos of Sarah and Antonio coming down from the helicopter.

Both of them wore sunglasses and were dressed entirely in black, their hair blowing in the wind.

Handsome and chic, they indeed looked like characters in a blockbuster film.

Some media even referred to them as the domestic version of the Smith couple.

The online craze also affected the stock of Valencia Inc.

This turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

The stock price of Valencia Inc. was not impacted by Lucien's case. Instead, it skyrocketed due to Antonio's and Sarah's viral video.

Antonio was pleased with this nationwide enthusiasm for their relationship.

But not everyone was happy...

Serene's fingers nervously slid across the mouse as she read the news, her eyebrows unconsciously furrowing.

After a while, Serene closed her computer and instructed the driver, "Go to Valencia Inc."

Antonio was planning to leave early with Sarah. With most of the company matters handled recently, he finally had some free time to arrange a meeting.

But he happened to encounter Serene.

Antonio looked surprised, "Ms. Jerret! To what do we owe the pleasure of your visit?"

Serene glanced at the hands they were holding, lightly tugging at the corners of her lips, teasing, "I've seen the news, Smith couple."

"It's all just a nickname." Antonio shrugged it off, but his eyes were drowning in affection. "Do you have something to come to me for?"

"No, I just saw what happened to Mr. Valencia and was afraid it might affect Valencia Inc. again. I came to see if I can help with anything," Serene replied, trying to hide something. "After all, I am a partner of Valencia Inc."

Sarah only smiled softly but felt somewhat uneasy, sensing something off about Serene.

Antonio didn't think too much. "Thank you, Ms. Jerrett, but Sarah has already helped me handle most of the company's matters. There shouldn't be any problems for now."

"Well, that's good." Serene smiled gently. "Sarah is indeed a capable helper."

"Naturally," Antonio embraced Sarah's waist, gazing affectionately at the woman in his arms. "Sarah is very capable. She can come up with solutions that I wouldn't have thought of. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to resolve these troubles so quickly."

Antonio's words made Sarah blush. It was unusual for him to praise his wife like this in front of others.

'Doesn't he know the concept of modesty?'

But she liked it.

"It's not as good as you say. I just did what I needed to." Sarah nestled against Antonio, her face filled with tenderness.

"What's not good? I never lie," Antonio displayed their affection without any concern for others, making Serene feel awkward.

Seeing this, Sarah used her finger to point to Serene, indicating that there was someone beside them.

Only then did Antonio restrain himself and say, "By the way, Sarah, I haven't told you about the connection between Ms. Jerrett and me."

"Well, what happened?" Sarah asked.

"One year, I went to the snow..."
