Chapter 310 Thinking She Was Intimate with Antonio

During breakfast the next morning, Harper and Ryan felt uneasy seeing their parents in this state, while Brian seemed exceptionally happy.

"Harper, Dad will be going to the J&K Group today. I don't know when I'll be back, so call me if you need anything," Antonio explained his schedule to Harper, his eyes often seeming to unintentionally rest on Sarah.

"Ethan, Mommy will be at the J&K Group all day today. Take care of your sister and Ryan at home, and don't wander off."

Upon hearing Sarah's words, Antonio finally diverted his gaze, simply wanting to know if she would be joining him at the J&K Group for work today.

A breakfast without a hint of war finally calmed down.

Sarah was the first to leave, driving her car straight to the J&K Group.

Antonio stood at the door, watching her swiftly leave, and sighed quietly.

Harper approached Antonio, comforting him by gently patting his shoulder. "Daddy, this is the consequence of angering Mommy. You have to work harder!"

"Thank you, sweetheart." Antonio ruffled Harper's head, then got into his car to chase after Sarah.

Harper silently sighed, truly feeling concerned.

"Harper, don't worry so much, and go play." Brian approached her, glaring discontentedly at Antonio's receding figure.

'Mommy definitely won't back down this time!'

Harper looked thoughtfully at Brian but ultimately didn't say anything.

Sarah arrived at the J&K Group first.

The news of Mr. Jerrett's hospitalization couldn't be kept from the shareholders who were attempting to take control of the company.

They gathered in the conference room, demanding Serene to explain herself.

They doubted that Antonio had no intentions towards the J&K Group.

"Tell Serene to get out. How can we hand the company over to an outsider?"

"This is the J&K Group, not Valencia Inc. Are you kidding me?"

"Selling ourselves and still counting the money for others? I've always said this company shouldn't be entrusted to Serene. Let's see what mess she has caused."

...

When Sarah arrived at the conference room, the shareholders were already in chaos, their emotions restless.

Their words were filled with discontent towards Antonio and Serene.

Although Sarah was still in a cold war with Antonio, it didn't mean she would allow others to meddle here.

Sarah entered the conference room, her gaze cold and sweeping. Silence fell over the occupants, an icy atmosphere settling in. "When the J&K Group was in crisis, I didn't see you all so worked up. Now that Mr. Valencia has resolved everything, I see you all enthusiastically celebrating."

"We simply wanted to know the condition of our chairman, so what brings Valencia Inc. here? Are we not allowed to ask questions in our own company?" one demanded.

Just as Sarah was about to retort, someone entered the room right after her and held her back.

"Who was shouting at my assistant while I was away?" Antonio's cold eyes pierced through them. "Have you grown tired of living?"

The moment the shareholders saw Antonio, they instinctively sealed their lips in unison. When hidden from view, they longed to express their frustration, but in the moment of confrontation, they dared not speak a word.

Antonio shielded Sarah behind him. "Did you really think we would value such insignificant beings from the J&K Group?"

The shareholders exchanged glances, knowing that Antonio had heard all their inappropriate words.

After a moment, a senior and experienced shareholder spoke up slowly, "Mr. Valencia, we aren't here for you. It's just that the chairman suddenly fell critically ill, and Ms. Jerrett is nowhere to be found. With only you here, we had no choice but to trouble you, wouldn't you agree?"

Antonio knew well that he was not a member of the J&K Group in the end. His meddling with the Jerretts' affairs had already caused discontent among many. They dared not speak their minds, but they were undoubtedly furious.

Moreover, he had no position to antagonize these shareholders. After all, this was the Jerretts' matter, and he was only a temporary acting CEO brought in by Serene.

"Very well, I will inform Serene and take you to the hospital to meet Mr. Jerrett. Handle your own affairs," Antonio proposed.

"That would be much appreciated, Mr. Valencia."

The shareholders collectively breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that Antonio didn't argue with them.

At the hospital…Mr. Jerrett had been transferred from the ICU to a VIP ward for recovery. Currently, his condition had stabilized. As long as there were no major fluctuations, his life would not be in danger.

Serene sat outside the ward, answering a call from her assistant. She had grown impatient after spending countless days at the hospital but had to maintain a façade for certain matters.

"Antonio brought the shareholders to the hospital? Alright, I got it," she said before ending the call, exhaling deeply.

She stood up and waited at the door for Antonio and the shareholders to arrive.

Before long, the cars of the J&K Group halted outside the hospital gates.

Serene hurriedly approached them. "Why have you all come?"

"Ms. Jerrett, such a big incident happened with the chairman. Why didn't you inform us? We were inconvenienced to bother Mr. Valencia," one of the shareholders complained.

"Isn't this just making a laughingstock out of oneself?" another shareholder took the initiative and immediately overwhelmed Serene in terms of momentum.

Serene could only smile in response, saying, "I didn't want to trouble everyone. My father always entrusted me with taking care of the company. I didn't know what to do at that time, so I had to trouble Antonio."

The way she called Antonio sounded tender, giving people the impression that they had a very intimate relationship.
