Chapter 626 He Never Thought of Hurting Sarah

Daniel listened to the roar on the phone, involuntarily moved the phone away, said nothing, and heard the busy tone on the other end.

Someone was in trouble.

Five minutes later, the person in charge, Rex Ingram, fearfully came to the CEO's office.

"Mr. Harrington, you wanted to see me!" Rex greeted.

"What's wrong with you"? Benjamin didn't give him a chance to speak. His dark face seemed to drip ink, his voice as cold as ice as he spoke, "I just asked you to make some adjustments on the defective fabric, and you actually sent people to cause trouble at The Jerrett Group! You even attacked their CEO!"

Rex broke out in a cold sweat, and desperately tried to explain, "It wasn't me, Mr. Harrington!"

"Then tell me, where these people came from?" Benjamin questioned as he tore off his tie in anger, "Did they fall from the sky? No one instructed them. How dare they do this!"

Rex wore a truly wronged expression.

He didn't do anything!

Rex hastily tried to explain, "Mr. Harrington, I can guarantee that those people were not ordered by me. We followed your orders and just attacked them online. It's impossible to lay a hand on Ms. Miller. We didn't expect these people to be so radical and do such a thing."

Benjamin narrowed his cold eyes, and sternly said, "Are you blaming me?"

Rex denied profusely, "No, no, no!"

Rex shook his hands repeatedly, and he wouldn't dare!

Rex insisted, "But it's true that we didn't arrange for these people." Even if he had a hundred times more courage, he wouldn't dare lie in front of the boss!

He added, "After we reported the issue to you, we actually put aside that slightly flawed fabric. It wasn't used in the finished garment, so there was no need to cause trouble like this."

The fabric from The Jerrett Group did indeed have a batch of minor flaws.

It was just uneven coloring.

It also fell within the normal range of defects. Whether it was a big deal or not, it could escalate to an issue of attitude and integrity, entirely depending on whether Harrington Group wanted to pursue it.

According to Mr. Harrington's instructions at the time, the purpose of this matter was to stir up some public opinion, not to trouble The Jerrett Group.

Rex certainly strictly followed through.

Benjamin gritted his teeth, his frustration escalating. He was already infuriated by Sarah, and just then, a subordinate reported such an incident, suggesting they could use this to negotiate with The Jerrett Group. He agreed without much thought.

But there was no need to negotiate; he wasn't short of that money. The purpose of this matter was to stir public opinion, putting Sarah in a disadvantageous position.

Benjamin intended to give her a small punishment with this matter.

More importantly, it would give her a chance to approach him, bow her head, and speak softly as she begged.

But who could have thought that Sarah would be hurt because of this!

He never thought of hurting Sarah!

Benjamin was extremely frustrated, and he swept all the folders on the table to the ground!

Rex watched this scene in horror, not daring to breathe, only hoping that the boss's anger would dissipate quickly.

Unfortunately, things didn't unfold as he had hoped.

On the TV screen next to them, the same scene kept playing back and forth, capturing Sarah's panicked expression in close-up, evoking sympathy.

Benjamin suddenly felt a headache, grabbed the coffee cup, and threw it.

He roared at Rex, "Get out!"

Rex eagerly complied, "O-okay, Mr. Harrington."

Benjamin yelled out, "Wait!"

Rex had barely taken two steps out when the devilish voice sounded behind him, causing him to shudder. He turned back shakily, and inquired, "Mr. Harrington, do you have any other orders?"

"Go and handle this matter." Benjamin's icy gaze seemed to shoot at him like ice daggers, and sternly stated, "I don't want to see any more attacks on Sarah. If you don't handle it within two hours, pack your things and get out!"

Rex pitifully replied, "Yes."

Rex stumbled out of the office, a bit confused about the situation. Now, he had to control public opinion and also start defending Ms. Miller's reputation.

Even if he had many doubts in his mind, he didn't dare to ask.

As a result, various negative comments online quickly subsided, with more focus on the investigation results of both the Harrington Group and The Jerrett Group.

That evening, Sarah was working on business matters at home when she heard the doorbell outside the yard.

It was late, she didn't know who it could be.

Sarah subconsciously glanced upstairs, where her father and the children were already resting.

She quietly went to the door to open it. But just to be safe, she held a wrench in her hand.

Outside the door, an unfamiliar face appeared. She cautiously stared at the other person, and asked, "You are?!"

"Ms. Miller, hello!" Rex held a large bag of supplements in his hand, smiling. He introduced himself, "I'm an employee of Harrington Group. I just heard that Ms. Miller was frightened by what happened earlier this evening, so I came on behalf of the company to express our concern!"

He raised the items in his hand, and said, "Seeing that you're okay, I feel relieved!"

After speaking, he silently added in his mind, 'Mr. Harrington should also feel relieved now!'

Sarah looked at him, puzzled, and remarked, "Your company is too polite; I'm fine; you better take these things back!"

Harrington Group's people didn't even see her in the morning, so why were they so respectful in the evening?

The sudden change was suspicious. She wasn't going to accept things for free.

But when Rex heard the refusal, he immediately looked embarrassed and reflexively glanced in a certain direction.

"Ms. Miller, these are just some small supplements for your current health! You really need to take care of yourself. Don't be polite. Let me help you bring them in!" Rex insisted, anxiously.

If Ms. Miller didn't accept, he couldn't complete his task!

Because not far away, hidden in the shadows in a black Rolls-Royce, Benjamin sat upright, his deep eyes fixed on the scene.

The dim shadows cast on his face made his distinct features appear more prominent and profound.

After some thought, Benjamin decided to come along with Rex. He needed to personally confirm that Sarah was safe before he could relax.

Suddenly, as if sensing something, Sarah raised her eyes. She saw a dark figure not far away, a car parked there, which caught her attention.

Inside the car, Benjamin's gaze suddenly met with hers.

A strange sense of tension arose in his heart, his heartbeat unconsciously quickening its pace.

In fact, the car window was too dark. Sarah couldn't see anything, but she felt something was off.

She regained her composure, firm in her stance, and said, "Really, there's no need. Thank you for making the trip."

She had intended to keep her distance from Harrington Group and certainly wouldn't accept things from them privately.

Rex wanted to say something more but suddenly saw a man stepping out from behind Sarah.

Bob had just heard some noise, saw Sarah dressed lightly through the window, and fetched her shawl, reminding her, "It's chilly at night; be careful."

Then he turned to Rex politely, and asked, "Hello, what's the matter?"

Seeing him holding her shawl, Sarah didn't refuse; she just said, "You came out!"

"I did feel a bit cold." She gestured towards the middle, and explained, "But it's nothing. This is an employee of Harrington Group. I've finished talking with him. Let's go inside."

After that, she nodded at Rex and ignored whatever he might say, heading straight into the yard.

Bob glanced at Rex, then turned around, his hand brushing against Sarah's back as he closed the door. From a distance, it looked like he was embracing her.

Then, the gate and the darkness blocked the view, and nothing else could be seen.

Benjamin's eyes, hidden in the darkness, narrowed slightly. A chill gradually seeped out, his hand on the steering wheel gripping tighter, and his knuckles turning white.
