Chapter 703 He Is Already Dead

Sarah needed to stay in the hospital that night. She had already called home in advance to inform her kids.

However, the next morning, when they woke up and didn't see Sarah, the kids still felt a bit upset inside.

Harper asked Kevin, "Grandpa, when will Mommy come back?"

Fortunately, Kevin's condition had been good recently, so he could spend the whole day with the kids.

He hugged Harper, who had spoken, and comforted, "Your mommy just needs to do some more tests. Once they're done, she can come back."

Ethan came over and asked, "Can we go to the hospital to see Mommy?"

Before Kevin could answer, the doorbell suddenly rang.

"Is Mommy back?" Harper was curious.

"It must be!" Ethan said, excited.

Thinking it was Sarah coming back, the kids rushed outside.

Kevin shook his head with a smile and followed the kids.

When they opened the door, Ethan was stunned.

"Who are you?" he asked.

Standing there was Harold, dressed in all black, wearing a pair of pure black leather gloves despite the hot weather.

Harold clearly didn't expect a child to open the door.

His eyes behind the sunglasses squinted slightly as he bent down a bit and asked, "Little one, are your parents home?"

Harold thought, 'By blood, Ethan should be my grandson, but unfortunately, he is born to that bitch Sarah!'

Although Ethan couldn't see Harold's eyes, he felt uncomfortable for some reason.

Just as he was about to speak, Kevin came out with Ryan and Harper. Kevin looked at Harold at the door with some surprise and asked, "May I ask who you're looking for?"

Harold's eyes narrowed sharply the moment Kevin appeared.

Deep down, his hatred surged like vines, almost making him lose his sanity.

Harold thought, 'It's him!'

'Kevin!'

'He's lived for so long!'

No one noticed that Harold's gloved hand slowly tightened around his cane. He used all his strength to adjust his emotions and put on a hypocritical smile.

"I am Harold Harrington, the chairman of the Harrington Group. I just arrived in the Capital City and came to visit Mr. Jerrett."

Worried that Kevin might find it strange, he added, "I met your daughter, Ms. Miller, at a party last time."

Kevin nodded in understanding as he said, "Mr. Harrington, I've long heard of you."

After all, Harold was a legend in the business world.

Although he wasn't very familiar, since Harold had come to visit, there was no reason to turn Harold away.

Kevin waved to the kids and then smiled as he welcomed Harold inside.

"Mr. Harrington, please come in. I apologize for the clutter; we have a lot of kids around here, and I hope you don't mind."

Harold's gaze was icy as he watched their retreating figures, and it took him a moment to tear his eyes away.

"Not at all. They seem like very well-behaved children."

He turned and gestured to the back, and his assistant promptly brought over a neatly wrapped gift box, which was handed to the housekeeper. "Just a small token of appreciation. I hope Mr. Jerrett won't find it lacking."

"Mr. Harrington, you're too kind."

Kevin gestured for Harold to sit on the sofa. "It's just unfortunate timing. Sarah isn't at home right now."

Harold wasn't particularly surprised by this. Sarah had a lot of places to be, so her absence was hardly unusual.

"That's alright."

He picked up the tea Kevin had poured for him, his eyes glinting with hidden meaning.

"I came to pay a visit, after all. Sarah's achievements are clearly a reflection of having an outstanding father."

Though this sounded like praise, Kevin felt a strange and unsettling vibe from Harold's demeanor. Despite it being their first meeting, there was something meaningful in his gaze.

After a pause, Kevin managed a smile. "Mr. Harrington, you're the real industry leader. Young people like Sarah should be learning from you."

Harold chuckled, a warm and genuine sound. "Sarah is both modest and capable. Her future is indeed bright!"

He thought, 'But I wonder if she can live long enough to see that bright future.'

As he looked at Kevin's smiling face, his eyes seemed to simmer with a volcanic rage. He could almost feel the urge to tear Kevin apart, to inflict the suffering he believed was long overdue.

He thought the debts from the past should have been paid by now.

The conversation continued as they sipped their tea, chatting comfortably as if they were old friends catching up. They discussed the current business landscape and the status of their respective companies.

In their exchange, neither side gained the upper hand.

Kevin took Harold on a tour of the garden and mentioned with a sigh, "You might not know this, but every plant and tree here was designed by my daughter's husband, Antonio. It's a real shame... He's since passed away."

Harold's expression darkened at the mention, a subtle smirk forming on his face.

He then adopted a look of regret. "I've heard of Mr. Valencia's talent. Such a loss, to die so young. Mr. Jerrett, it's truly unfortunate."

Kevin shook his head and sighed. "Maybe it's just destiny."

As Harold looked at Kevin's forlorn expression, a malicious glee flashed through Harold's mind.

He thought, 'Yes, it's all about destiny. Their fate is in my hands.

'I'm going to make every single member of this family experience the pain I went through, both mentally and physically, because they owe me everything.'

Kevin took a few steps forward before realizing Harold hadn't followed. Just as he turned to check, Harold had already regained his composure.

He smiled, "It looks like our time's up. I have some business to attend to. I'll drop by again when I have some free time."

Kevin hurriedly waved away his modesty. "Mr. Harrington, you're too kind. It would be great for Sarah to visit you next time."

Harold nodded with a polite smile. "No need to see me off, Mr. Jerrett. Looking forward to our next meeting."

The moment he turned around, the warmth in his eyes vanished. He took a pair of dark glasses from his bodyguard, put them on, and walked out of the garden with purposeful steps.

Kevin watched him leave before going back inside, thoughts swirling in his mind about this Mr. Harrington from the Harrington Group.

In the car, Harold watched Kevin in the rearview mirror, his gaze as venomous as a scorpion, wishing he could kill Kevin on the spot!

As the car drove further away, the assistant in the front passenger seat suddenly reported, "Mr. Harrington, we've found Asa."

"Let him see me!"

The assistant stole a cautious glance through the rearview mirror, with beads of sweat forming on his forehead. "It's Asa's body we found, sir. He's, um, dead."

Harold's eyes narrowed abruptly. "What did you say?"

"Asa's body was discovered beneath a bridge by the police. We couldn't interfere directly, but we had people tracking the situation discreetly."

It was better for the police to handle the investigation than for them to do it themselves.

Harold shut his eyes, and a news headline flashed through his mind.

The highly publicized "Bridge Body" case from a while ago.

Online photos showed that the body was unrecognizable, with no sign of the face.

But he never would have thought that person was the missing Asa!
