Chapter 377 Gifting a Luxurious House
As Antonio stared at the screen of his phone, he paused for a moment.
Harper reacted quickly and immediately positioned the camera to capture herself, filling the entire screen with her little face.
Consequently, the figures of Ethan and Brian flashed by in an instant, as if in the blink of an eye. Antonio caught a glimpse of them out of the corner of his eye.
Harper shouted anxiously, "Daddy, let me see where you got hurt, okay?"
Upon hearing Harper's reminder, Brian grew nervous and quickly moved to a spot the camera couldn't reach, leaving only Ethan visible.
Antonio snatched the phone immediately and asked Ethan, "Ethan, come here and let Daddy take a look. There was a child next to you just now who looked so much like you. Who is it?"
Ethan swallowed and lied without changing his expression. "What are you talking about? That's strange. It's only the three of us here. There is no one else."
"Yeah, Daddy, Ethan is alone. There's no second person," Harper chimed in, shaking her head.
Ryan didn't dare lie to Antonio and kept his head down, not saying a word or offering any explanation.
Antonio unintentionally turned to Sarah and asked, "Sarah, did you see it? There really was a child next to Ethan just now who looked exactly like our son."
Sarah blinked, worriedly held Antonio's head, and looked around. "Oh, let's go for another check-up then. Why are you having hallucinations? Your concussion hasn't healed yet."
Antonio furrowed his brows. "Could it be..."
"So, let's get another check-up," Sarah said, looking at Antonio with a heavy expression as if she didn't quite believe him.
At this point, Antonio also started to doubt himself. Could he have truly mistaken something?
Ethan immediately asked, "Um, how is your illness... Is it getting better?"
Although his intention was to divert Antonio's attention, he did have some genuine concern.
Upon hearing Ethan's concern for him, Antonio no longer dwelled on it. He felt relieved in his heart. "Don't worry, son, Daddy is fine."
Ethan nervously fiddled with his fingers. "Okay... If there's nothing else, we'll hang up. Harper and Ryan still need to study."
"Then you three behave at home, stay safe, and never open the door for strangers until Mommy and Daddy come back."
Antonio no longer lingered on whether he had been seeing things earlier. Instead, he looked at the luxurious villa through the phone screen, and a subtle and indescribable feeling rose within him.
"Okay, Daddy, bye," Harper hurriedly ended the video call.
Antonio stared at the darkened phone screen and slowly handed the phone to Sarah.
Still concerned about Brian's situation, Sarah didn't notice Antonio's abnormality. Just as she was about to take the phone, she realized that she hadn't picked up where she left off in her conversation.
"What's wrong?"
Antonio bit his lip. "When are you and the kids coming home?"
"Huh?" Sarah was puzzled. "What are you talking about?"
"I mean, when can you and the children come home? When can you stop living in someone else's house?"
Sarah instantly understood. "That's not someone else's house anymore. The current owner is me. It's my home."
Antonio felt a little sad. "Sarah, I already know the truth of the matter. Why do you still lie to me?"
Sarah felt baffled. "When did I lie to you?"
"Who is Allen exactly? Why did he randomly give you such a huge mansion? Can you tell me?"
The more Antonio thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt.
If Sarah wasn't someone very important to Allen, how could he easily give her such a luxurious house? What exactly was their relationship to have this Allen person be so generous?
Sarah furrowed her brow, determined not to evade this question.
They would have to face this sooner or later and sort it out to coexist peacefully.
"Antonio, what do you really want to know?" Sarah put down what she was holding, looking at Antonio calmly.
Antonio wasn't as emotionally charged as before. "I just want to know: what kind of relationship do you have with Allen? How far has it developed between you two?"
