Chapter 440 All I Want is a Dead Body

Brian lay awake, not due to the cramped quarters of the three sharing a single bed, but because he experienced a warmth entirely new to him.

Previously, when he had nestled between them, masquerading as Ethan, his mindset had been disparate.

Then, his focus was solely on plotting Antonio's removal from his mother's life, oblivious to the cocoon of warmth enveloping him.

Yet, at that moment, he surrendered to the embrace of his father, feeling a profound sense of security—an elusive bond often associated with paternal care.

Meanwhile, Victor was arguing loudly with Serene over the phone. "No, you have to find me a place. I can't get on a plane now, can't take a train, and don't even have money for a private car! Plus, Antonio's people are everywhere!

"Do you know how many people Antonio has arranged? If I get caught, I'm done for!

"You have to come up with a solution for me. I don't want to live a life of hiding and running!"

Serene rubbed her forehead and listened to Victor's orders, feeling even more frustrated. "I already told you to run. Why are you still lingering in that city?"

"When you called me, I was gambling. It was a crucial round, but fortunately, luck was on my side, and I won some money. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had a penny in my pocket and wouldn't have been able to escape."

Serene was itching with anger. They were already on the brink of death, and this person still only cared about gambling.

If he had listened to her, he would have left immediately after receiving the call. Why would he end up being trapped in this city now?

"I gave you a chance, but you're useless. What am I supposed to do with you?"

Serene no longer wanted to deal with him. The city felt suffocatingly small, and if she hurried over now, Antonio would undoubtedly spot her, escalating the situation further.

Victor felt even more aggrieved due to Serene's scolding. Her reluctance to care for him any longer stoked his fury.

"Let me tell you, you little bitch! If you don't help me and let me live freely overseas and I end up being caught by Antonio, I'll definitely expose you. Let's see who will suffer then!"

Serene was furious. "Victor, did I waste all that money on you?"

"What did you waste? All I'm telling you is this: if you offend me, neither of us will have a good ending!" Victor snapped, not caring anymore. His life was already ruined, but at least he had enjoyed everything he wanted to do. He didn't believe Serene would take the rsik.

Serene held her fists tightly, determined. "Alright, go to a place now. Someone will meet you there."

Victor sneered, "If you want me to go, I'll go. But I don't trust you, you treacherous woman."

"What do you want, then?" Serene roared.

Victor was insatiable; no amount of money could fill his bottomless heart. He dared to threaten her.

Such a person had to be dealt with quickly, otherwise, trouble would surely follow in the future!

"You transfer the money to me first, let me find a place to hide comfortably. When there's no other choice, I'll find you."

Victor wasn't foolish. Just after threatening Serene, he wouldn't just rush towards the place she specified. It would be strange if there was no danger involved.

Having been around for so many years, Victor may not have accomplished much, but he knew how to keep himself safe. Otherwise, the casinos' enforcers would have silenced him long ago.

Serene frowned.

Dealing with Victor wasn't the priority now.

"Okay, I'll do as you say. But for the next two days, you need to hide well and avoid drawing attention. Antonio's influence is greater than you realize. At least I have the advantage of being his partner. If you're caught, there might still be a chance for me. But if it's you, there'll be no hope whatsoever."

"Don't worry, I know this situation well. As long as we cooperate well, nothing will happen. Start by sending me $200,000 to play with."

"No problem, the money will be transferred soon. Hurry to the place I mentioned and hide. It's within my sphere of influence and ordinary people can't find it."

Serene angrily hung up, throwing the phone to the ground and smashing the screen.

"That bastard actually wants $200,000 to play with! Does he really think I'm an ATM?!"

Narrowing her eyes, Serene took out a new phone and made a call.

Victor soon received the $200,000 that Serene sent. Seeing his account balance, he couldn't be happier.

He knew Serene wouldn't dare to not be afraid of Antonio finding out the truth.

As long as he slightly threatened her, that little bitch would comply.

With the money in hand, Victor happily headed towards the address Serene gave him.

After a night had passed, Antonio's men finally followed various clues.

"We've caught Victor's trail."

As soon as Antonio received the news, he set off with Sarah and Brian. "Hurry and catch up. I'll be there right away. Don't lose the target!"

"Don't worry, Mr. Valencia."

The situation was urgent and time was of the essence.

Sitting in the car, Antonio was anxious. "Drive faster!"

If there was indeed someone behind Victor, then the information he sought might have already been exposed. He must find him before anyone else to uncover the secrets behind it all!

Meanwhile, Serene was also not idle back home.

Almost simultaneously, she received a call from the assassins she had dispatched.

"Ms. Jerret, we've located Victor. He's heading towards the trap we have set."

"Keep a close eye on him and eliminate him once he arrives. Remember, I want him dead, and the operation must be clean without leaving any traces."

"Ms. Jerret, there's another group of people tracking Victor. We almost encountered them multiple times. What should we do?"

Serene felt a slight panic, knowing that the other group must be sent by Antonio.

"I've already told you to act quickly and not worry about anything else. Once you find Victor, kill him and take his bank cards and phone. Don't worry about anything else! We can pin the blame on anyone in that chaotic place!"
