Chapter 518 Gouge out Sarah's Eyes
Sarah quickly got up to check on Kevin's condition, asking him repeatedly, "Dad, are you hurt? Does your heart hurt?"
Kevin took a deep breath; it took him a while to recover, "I'm fine, sweetheart. What about you? You hit your head; let me see."
"I'm fine; I'm not hurt. Don't worry, Dad."
The display screen in the elevator had failed, and Sarah was unclear how many floors they had fallen. She could only look at the pitch-black darkness outside the elevator with some fear.
A flash of fear crossed Sarah's eyes, and she swallowed hard, "Dad, I... I'll go check out the situation first; you don't need to move."
Kevin sat in his wheelchair, unable to move even if he wanted to. He repeatedly instructed her to be careful.
Sarah slowly stepped one foot out of the elevator door and found solid ground; she felt a bit relieved and slowly walked a few steps out, feeling along the wall.
"Is anyone there?"
Her echo quickly returned in the dark, empty space, and she involuntarily shivered, feeling an immense fear of the surrounding environment.
Sarah didn't want to linger and hurried to retreat back to the elevator.
However, suddenly, there was a slight noise behind her.
"Who's there?!"
She stopped in her tracks, her hands clenched into fists, and she looked behind her with caution.
But with no light around, except for the elevator behind her, she had no way to search for anything to defend herself.
Suddenly—
"Sweetheart, watch out!"
Just as Kevin's chilling shout fell, a violent blow came to the back of Sarah's head.
She didn't have time to look back at her father, and she passed out.
—"Sarah!"
In the early morning, the sedative in Antonio's body wore off, and he suddenly opened his eyes.
His forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat from the terrifying scene in his dream that had made him shout out loud.
It wasn't until half a minute later that Antonio came back to his senses, looking around at his surroundings and realizing that he must be in a hospital.
The last thing he remembered was Sarah calling for an ambulance, and then he passed out completely.
After looking at the IV drip on his hand, Antonio didn't think twice before pulling it out, getting out of bed, and going to find Sarah.
He couldn't remember what he had dreamed about, he only had one thought now.
He needed to see Sarah immediately.
Just as Antonio put on his shoes, the phone on the bedside table vibrated. It was a message.
Antonio normally wouldn't care, but today he inexplicably opened it.
It was an image. Antonio clicked to open it, and his eyes immediately tightened.
In the photo, Sarah was hanging in mid-air by a rope, and her body was covered in wounds.
Kevin was tied up; his mouth was taped, and he didn't look good either.
Antonio was so shocked that blood surged up from his stomach, making him cough up red splatter.
He painfully pressed his stomach and immediately contacted James.
But at this moment, his phone rang. It was the same number that had just sent him the message.
Antonio answered, yelling, "Who are you?!"
A coquettish laugh came from the other end of the phone.
Her laughter was getting more and more uncontrollable; she was going insane.
Antonio clenched his teeth; he could tell it was her.
It was Serene.
"Serene, where is Sarah?"
Serene's laughter stopped upon hearing this, and she replied in a pretentious manner, "Antonio, your voice is so cold; it's quite scary, you know."
"Serene! You better ensure that Sarah is unharmed, or I swear I will make you suffer!"
Instead of being frightened, Serene's laughter only grew louder in response to Antonio's threat.
"Antonio, do you know? You're most attractive when you're angry."
Serene's voice became increasingly seductive, making Antonio feel sick to his stomach.
"Serene, where is Sarah?!"
"Why are you shouting? You used to be so gentle. It makes me miss the time when we first met."
Serene sighed, seemingly with regret.
Antonio's patience had reached its limit. He stood up and leaned on the hospital bed, "I warn you, if you dare to harm Sarah in any way, I will tear you to pieces."
Serene snorted coldly in response, "Antonio, let me guess, you're planning to go out, contact your assistant, and then have your bodyguards track my location, right? Haha, you're so naive, it's adorable. Why don't you look up at the surveillance camera in your room?"
Antonio was taken aback, and he subconsciously looked at the surveillance camera in his room. The camera moved from left to right, as if it was waving at him.
Antonio's brow furrowed, and a sense of foreboding arose in his heart, "What do you mean?"
"Antonio, if you want to know my location, just ask me directly. How could I bear to see you go through so much trouble?"
Serene laughed again. Her laughter was laced with mockery, nearly causing Antonio to crush his phone in his hand.
"What do you want?!"
Antonio practically spat the words out from between his teeth.
Sarah and Kevin were still in Serene's clutches; he couldn't afford to be impulsive.
Antonio repeated Sarah's name in his mind over and over, steadying his nerves.
He knew he couldn't provoke Serene any further or the consequences would be dire.
"Serene, I can give you anything you want, just tell me, where is Sarah?"
"Tsk tsk, Antonio, you're really devoted, aren't you? It's a pity it's not for me." Serene sighed, "But who can blame me for liking you? We're at South Mountain, come here."
Antonio's eyes darkened; he was ready to hang up the phone after receiving the information.
"Hey, what's the rush? I haven't finished talking." Serene chuckled, "Remember, you must come alone; otherwise, I'll gouge out Sarah's eyes and attach them to my shoes. How does that sound?"
