Chapter 754 It All Depends on Your Choice

Isabella's hand shook, a cold shiver running down her spine.

'Is Harold really Antonio's dad? How could a real father do something like this?' she wondered.

Right then, she realized she never really knew the Harold she always looked up to.

'What other secrets is he hiding, and what does he really want?' she couldn't figure it out.

Isabella's breath hitched, then she gasped, the shock clear on her face.

But Antonio knew she believed him because Isabella wasn't a bad person.

If Antonio could get her on his side, they'd have a better shot at taking Harold down.

After all, Isabella had been with Harold way longer than he had, and she probably knew a lot of useful stuff.

Antonio's voice was sincere. "I told you this so you wouldn't be used by him anymore. He's selfish, and once you're no longer useful, he'll toss you aside without a second thought."

Isabella got the hint and smiled bitterly, "Thanks for telling me, but what can I do to fight him?"

She was adopted by Harold, after all.

Given the situation, she realized he might have just wanted to use her.

Antonio's eyes darkened. "Of course you can. I'll make him pay for what he's done. He doesn't know you know all this, or that I've got my memory back, so..."

He paused and continued, "Would you be willing to stay by his side and help me when needed?"

Isabella looked up, a bit dazed. "You want me to gain his trust?"

"He already trusts you." Antonio paused, then sneered, "No, the only person he truly trusts is himself."

Then he added, "But he won't be on guard against you for now, so there are many things he might let you know that he wouldn't tell me."

He looked at her honestly. "If we can bring him down, you'll be free, and all our past issues will be wiped clean."

Isabella clenched her fingers, feeling confused. "My mind is a mess right now."

She had just learned that the Harold she respected was actually a bad person who had done such terrible things, and it was hard for her to accept.

It made sense that Antonio wanted to bring him down.

But she doubted if she could really do it.

And there were still many things she didn't understand. If Benjamin was Sarah's husband, then why were there photos of him with another woman circulating a few days ago?

But Isabella knew that even if she asked now, she might not get an answer.

Right now, whether facing Harold or Benjamin, she was in a tough spot.

Isabella struggled internally, finally taking a deep breath and saying, "Can you give me some time to think about it?"

"Of course." Antonio looked very considerate as his eyes flickered. "Contact me anytime once you've made up your mind."

With that, he stood up. "None of this is your fault. Take care of yourself, and when you're better, you'll definitely meet someone who truly cares for you."

Isabella looked at the Antonio she had once truly loved and felt somewhat moved, softly saying, "Thank you."

Antonio nodded and turned to leave.

As he reached the door, he exchanged a meaningful glance with the medical staff standing on either side. Since Antonio had decided to come clean with Isabella today, he came prepared. He'd already swapped out the hospital staff with his own people.

If Isabella ended up siding with Harold, there'd be no reason for her to stay here any longer.

Plus, he brought a special jammer with him today.

From the moment he stepped into the ward, all recording and surveillance equipment would lose signal and stop working.

Luckily, Isabella's reaction didn't catch Antonio off guard. Now, it was just a waiting game for her decision.

Antonio adjusted his sleeve and headed downstairs.

This hospital was the top one in the Capital city and the place where Sarah was publicly said to be recovering.

As the elevator descended to the floor where "Sarah" was staying, he hesitated and pressed the button.

The elevator doors opened, and Antonio stepped out, a bit unsure.

Now that Isabella was also here, he suspected Harold might make a move against Sarah.

He was thinking about whether to arrange extra security when he suddenly heard a commotion nearby.

Getting closer, he saw a man crying and pleading with a doctor, his voice hoarse. "Please, doctor! Save my wife! She must still have a chance, please save her!"

The doctor, dragged to a halt, patiently said, "Your wife is beyond saving now. Continuing treatment is pointless. Plus, the hospital has no available beds. We can't waste medical resources on someone who can't be saved. Thanks for understanding."

The doctor added, "Sir, I suggest you take your wife home, spend her last days well."

Maybe having seen too much life and death, the doctor spoke with a sigh in his voice, but his words were harsh.

The man shook his head in disbelief, yelling, "No, that's impossible!"

With that, the man stood before the doctor, pleading, "Please, doctor! Try again, okay? What if there's still a chance? What if she..."

"There's no chance!" The doctor retorted, helpless.

"If you keep this up, I'll call security. I have other patients to take care of!"

Antonio watched the scene unfold, feeling a wave of emotion and pity for the couple.

When he had his accident, was Sarah this desperate too?

She must have wanted to find a glimmer of hope for him.

He knew that in the months following the explosion, she never gave up searching for him.

Thinking of that, Antonio narrowed his eyes, and he walked over.

"Wait."

At his voice, the doctor and the patient's family turned their heads, falling silent as they looked at him.

Antonio said, "Since he's pleading so much, doctor, why not keep his wife in the hospital? A little hope is better than none."

Seeing the doctor frown, he added, "My friend's ward happens to have an empty bed. You can admit his wife to that room."

Earlier, he had arranged for a stand-in to stay in the room pretending to be Sarah.

After Harold's people confirmed, he temporarily removed the stand-in.

That room was now empty, with no one in it.

The doctor hesitated, then sighed, "Alright then."

Hearing that, the doctor finally agreed, and the man on the ground immediately turned to Antonio. "Thank you! You're such a good person!"

A good person?

He didn't want such praise.

He wasn't doing this without ulterior motives.
