Chapter 798 Timothy's Overture
Antonio took out his phone, and the photo album was filled with pictures of Sarah and the kids, even some taken secretly before he regained his memory.
He swiped through them one by one, very slowly, his thumb gently caressing Sarah's delicate face on the screen, as if he could see her happy expression in front of him. Each image was vivid and profound.
These memories were incredibly precious to him.
And Sarah, even more so, was more important than his own life.
Antonio placed the phone on his chest, his deep gaze fixed on the ceiling, his emotions more complex than ever, and his longing for Sarah growing stronger.
It was only when the sky outside began to lighten that he finally fell asleep.
The next morning, Antonio was awakened by the sound of the doorbell.
"Mr. Valencia." Two men in suits stood at the door, showing their credentials. "We are from the notary office. You scheduled an appointment with us today to sign some documents."
Since deciding on the surgery, Antonio had been preparing his will, leaving everything to Sarah and their kids.
He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Come in."
The two staff members nodded slightly and entered the room. "Please take a look. This is the will you drafted earlier, along with the arrangements for your shares and assets."
These documents had already been prepared long ago. Now it was just a matter of procedure, requiring Antonio's personal signature. If he were to pass away unexpectedly, the will would take effect.
Antonio closed his eyes and leaned back on the sofa, a faint blue tint under his eyelids, his brow furrowed with irritation, his legs naturally apart. Even in his loungewear, he exuded an aura of authority and pressure.
He didn't speak, and the staff didn't dare to speak rashly.
As time ticked by, the two men exchanged glances and finally couldn't help but speak up, "Mr. Valencia?"
"Yes." Antonio opened his eyes, a flash of impatience crossing his face.
He really didn't have the mind to think about the will; his head was filled with thoughts of the surgery and Sarah. The thought of the upcoming events made him feel irritable.
But the will was something that had to be dealt with before the surgery.
"Where do I sign?" Antonio asked.
The staff members breathed a sigh of relief and quickly laid out the documents in front of him. "Please confirm everything, and then sign on the last page."
"Haven't I already confirmed everything?" Antonio frowned. He had personally drafted these terms and had confirmed them multiple times before. He flipped to the last page and signed it hastily.
After signing, he put down the pen. "That's it. You can go now."
The notary staff seemed a bit surprised at how quickly it went. They paused for a moment before starting to pack up. "Alright, we will send you an electronic copy later. If you have any questions, please contact us."
"Okay," Antonio responded and then pressed his temples as he sat back on the sofa.
He hadn't slept well the night before and had a terrible headache.
The two staff members glanced at his face, politely said their goodbyes, and left.
As they had said, they sent an electronic copy to Antonio's email later. Antonio didn't pay much attention to it.
Sarah, of course, knew nothing about all this.
After getting up, she played with the kids along with Mary.
Ethan happily gave Mary a high-five.
Then he looked at the Lego castle on the table. "We're amazing! We finished this castle in just one morning!"
Harper was also extremely happy. Her eyes sparkled as she turned to hug Sarah's hand. "Mommy, can we give this castle to Mary? A princess with a castle will definitely find her prince!"
Sarah was amused by her words. "Did you read that in a fairy tale book?"
"Yes!"
Harper's eyes curved into crescents as she smiled. "I like Mary. I hope she finds her prince!"
"Alright." Sarah had no reason to refuse. "Then today's creation will be a gift for Mary!"
The kids were all very happy. Ethan and Ryan together lifted the castle and placed it in front of Mary. "Mary, this isn't just any castle. It carries the blessings of our whole family!"
Mary was a bit embarrassed by the kids' antics and accepted it with a smile. "Thank you, sweethearts."
Almost as soon as she finished speaking, her phone rang.
Sarah raised an eyebrow and joked, "Is it a call from a prince?"
Mary's face visibly reddened, and she shyly glared at Sarah. "Sarah."
"Alright, I won't tease you." Sarah laughed. "Go ahead and answer the call."
The kids also lowered their voices, their eyes wide with curiosity.
Under their innocent gazes, Mary's face blushed to her ears as she answered the call. "Hello, what is it?"
Timothy paused slightly. "Are you busy?"
His voice was deep and magnetic, as if it traveled directly from her eardrums to her heart, making Mary's heartbeat uncontrollably faster. "No, I'm just playing with the kids."
Timothy knew she was referring to Sarah's kids and responded with a hum. "I got two tickets for tomorrow at the Capital City Harmony Arts Center. You and Ms. Miller should go."
Tomorrow was the day of Antonio's surgery. He could use this to distract Sarah. If she couldn't reach Antonio, she wouldn't overthink things.
"I..." Mary wanted to refuse.
"You're staying at her house now. Isn't it appropriate to show some appreciation? right?" Timothy interrupted.
Mary had originally planned to go to the hospital to take care of Cynthia, but his words made some sense, and she didn't respond immediately.
Timothy was very patient and said, "I know you have a good relationship with her, but now that you're in Capital City, she will inevitably have to take care of you. Mutual support is essential for a lasting relationship, don't you think?"
His voice was very pleasant.
Mary's face grew redder, and her thoughts were inevitably swayed by him. "Yes, that's true."
Timothy asked about her recent days and confirmed the time for tomorrow before hanging up.
Mary had just put down her phone when she received a transfer from him.
Not knowing what Timothy was up to, Mary sent a message to ask him.
Timothy replied: [After visiting the Harmony Arts Center, go have a meal and do some shopping. Consider it a thank-you gift for Ms. Miller.]
Mary found it a bit puzzling.
When Sarah was in Marshall City, he wasn't this attentive.
A bold idea suddenly popped into her mind, making her heart race and her teeth nibble on her nails, feeling a bit feverish.
Could it be that he was trying to show his affection?
A man as high and mighty as Timothy would find it hard to express his feelings directly, so he used Sarah as an excuse, buying tickets and giving money.
Seeing her deep in thought, Sarah gently touched her shoulder. "What's wrong?"
