Chapter 100 His Command

"I'll have Old Lady Harrington help you manage Mr. Alexander," the nanny said, pulling out her phone to make a call.
Victoria, who had just picked up a spoon, immediately reached out and stopped her, fear evident in her eyes, "Please don't call Grandma; she just got out of the hospital."
--
Victoria realized that there were certain matters she needed to handle independently.
So, after starting work, Victoria called Old Lady Harrington, planning to have lunch with her at noon to explain things.
Before Alexander's arrival at the office, she abruptly stood up from her seat, addressing Jasmine, "I have an urgent matter to attend to this morning. Could you please update Mr. Harrington on the progress later?"
"Oh? Of course." Jasmine replied.
"Thank you." Victoria agreed and then handed over the organized files before leaving.
Jasmine felt a sense of unease, observing Victoria's figure as she made her way towards the elevator.
Standing by the elevator for a brief moment, Victoria felt an inexplicable sense of anxiety, prompting her to swiftly change course towards the emergency exit. As the elevator doors slid open, she hastened her steps. However, a tall figure emerged from within, standing there and calling out her name coldly, "Victoria."
He just coldly called her name, but he stopped immediately.
"Stay," Alexander commanded, noticing her reluctance to halt.
When she continued, he repeated more firmly, "Stop."
Victoria held her breath and eventually complied, turning around unwillingly to face him. "Come to my office," Alexander instructed in a deep tone.
Victoria retrieved the files and headed to his office ahead of him.
Alexander entered unhurriedly, closing the door gently behind him while observing her standing there with a sullen expression.
He kindly reminded her, "Avoidance won't solve the problem."
But what was she supposed to be avoiding? She simply didn't wish to see him. If she couldn't reason with him, she would talk to the elders.
Alexander walked up to her, looking at her stubborn and awkward demeanor.
Suddenly, he began speaking with immense patience, "I'll only ask this once, and I'll believe whatever you say, okay?"
Victoria looked at him in confusion.
"Are you with Adrian?"
Victoria didn't respond.
"Or to put it more simply, have you slept with him?"
Still silent, Victoria felt a mix of speechlessness and anger at Alexander's question. A ringing filled her ears as she continued to gaze at him blankly and indignantly, clutching the files tightly to her chest.
Did he truly view her in such a contemptible light?
“Only a depraved individual would project their own filth onto others.” Victoria finally retorted.
With that said, she did not spare him another glance.
Alexander maintained his gaze on her, suppressing the urge to smile. He made an effort to appear composed as he nodded, "So, you were merely conversing with him on the beach."
Only then did Victoria turn to look at him.
Recollections of the previous night flooded her mind.
She had indeed spotted a car, which looked a lot like his.
Given how swiftly it had departed, she had initially dismissed it as a figment of her imagination. It was too far at the time for her to discern the license plate. Furthermore, he had not mentioned it in the morning.
But now...
Was he seeking retribution from her?
Exercising restraint and striving for patience, he requested, "In the future, could you refrain from meeting him so late and lying down together?"
