Chapter 645 You Don't Have to Endure
However, Tessa liked Benjamin.
Later, Tessa quietly glanced at Benjamin and found him looking at his phone. She felt annoyed and wanted to throw a tantrum, but then her heart softened, and her finger involuntarily reached for his idle hand resting on his leg.
Benjamin's gaze on his phone didn't change, but his large hand naturally grasped that little finger, then held her entire hand.
Tessa's small hand was cool, and feeling it, he tightened his grip a bit more.
Because of this small gesture, Tessa also looked out the window, her clear eyes lighting up.
Their parents were their biggest obstacle. She didn't really care, but he did.
Benjamin sent a message to Alexander, then put his phone away and, with a playful ease, sprawled across Tessa's lap.
Tessa instinctively leaned back, but his hand was already resting over her heart. Unable to resist, she gently stroked his short hair and whispered, "Aren't you worried about Dick telling on us?"
"You're mine sooner or later. He wouldn't dare," Benjamin said with a smile.
Tessa's heart raced, her cheeks flushing a deep red.
She thought, 'He's claiming I'm his? Does he really dare to say that now?'
Dick Ramsey, the driver up front, was completely absorbed in driving, pretending to be deaf to the conversation. After all, there were a lot of things he had kept under wraps for Tessa. If he were to report that a young woman had a big man lounging on her lap, it would spell trouble at home.
Benjamin's phone buzzed, and he picked it up to see a reply from Alexander. "Thanks," he read with a grin, thinking Alexander was being too formal.
In the grand living room of Serenade Villa, Victoria was sitting cross-legged on the couch, cradling a large bowl of strawberries while watching a movie.
Alexander joined her after sending the message, popped a strawberry into her mouth, and ate the remaining ones himself. Victoria bit into the strawberry instinctively, and Alexander finished off the rest with a casual air.
After finishing, Victoria looked over at Alexander, who met her gaze. "What's wrong?"
"Finish them all," Victoria commanded, offering him another strawberry.
Alexander glanced at it, but instead of taking it, he bent down and ate the one from her hand.
Victoria didn't mind his tongue brushing her fingers; it was a familiar intimacy. She simply picked up another strawberry and bit into it with satisfaction.
Eating strawberries this way was just more enjoyable—why let him have all the sweet parts when he could enjoy the less ripe ones?
"I like sharing a strawberry with you," Alexander suddenly said, leaning in to pull her close from behind. His voice was low and seductive.
"Got it," Victoria responded, already knowing what he meant.
Victoria felt a secret thrill at his words, her eyes betraying her delight even though she maintained a composed exterior. She responded with just a soft murmur, but inside, she made a silent vow: from now on, whenever they were both at home, she'd slice the strawberries vertically so they could share the sweetness equally.
After all, she couldn't bear the thought of keeping the best for herself while giving him the less desirable parts.
In her mind, he deserved the sweetest strawberries. Having always been accustomed to the finest things in life, he shouldn't have to suffer a drop in quality just because he was with her.
Unaware of her thoughts, Alexander was simply absorbed in the moment, gently curling his fingers through her long, soft hair. The silky strands wrapped around his fingertips, bringing him a deep sense of contentment.
He found immense joy in these small touches—twisting her hair around his fingers, kissing her lips, and holding her hand. It was as though his heart was only truly full when he was touching her.
Victoria felt a bit awkward. It wasn't that they didn't spend enough time together; rather, this sense of intimacy made her long for more, even though she knew it wasn't possible.
So, she reminded herself to stay restrained and not let her emotions overwhelm her. As she continued to feed him strawberries—one for him, one for herself—she thought about how she might act differently.
Alexander noticed that while she wasn't very verbal about her feelings, her actions spoke volumes.
Was she still afraid? Afraid of Isabella? Afraid that he might not be good enough for her?
Resting his chin on her shoulder, he occasionally placed gentle kisses on her neck.
Victoria eventually couldn't hold back. She turned to look at him, asking, "What are you doing?"
"I just want to kiss you," he replied.
"Just a kiss?" Victoria asked, shifting her shoulder slightly away.
Alexander grinned, then pulled her head towards him and kissed her lips, catching her off guard. The taste of strawberries lingered, making the kiss irresistible.
No matter what, kissing was something he deeply enjoyed, and Victoria found herself savoring every moment of their closeness.
Sometimes she felt restless and wanted to pull away, but it wasn't because she didn't like it; she was simply afraid. She wasn't always this timid.
Ever since moving to Ankenra City, she had been living more cautiously than she ever had before.
She had once been the cherished treasure of her parents, who stood firmly behind her no matter what she did. She boldly pursued her passions, knowing that even if she later lost interest, her parents would say it was okay. Then, without warning, they were gone, and she found herself married to him.
How did life become so rugged? She didn't understand.
Victoria sometimes couldn't fathom how such wonderful parents could just disappear. She also struggled to understand why, despite having no quarrel with Isabella, the woman seemed determined to ruin her life because of him.
Human nature was so complex—out of ten people, there were probably nine different personalities.
Victoria decided not to dwell on it any longer. With one hand cradling the bowl of strawberries and the other wrapping around his neck, she leaned in to meet his kiss.
Alexander's heart skipped a beat. The sensation of being kissed so eagerly made him feel pleasantly overwhelmed. He paused, then resumed kissing her lips with tender fervor.
Victoria eagerly responded, kissing him back.
The lighting in the room seemed to take on a sultry glow. Alexander murmured, "How long do I have to hold back?"
"Actually, you don't have to hold back at all."
"What?"
"You have it, don't you?"
She said, gently caressing his hand.
With their foreheads touching, Victoria gazed into his eyes, her own reflecting the fiery intensity of his gaze.
Her heart felt like it was being seared, not in pain, but in a trembling way.
She kissed him again. "Mr. Harrington, if you performed like this, you'd be incredibly handsome."
"You're getting naughty," he teased, his eyes promising a deliciously wicked response.
Victoria noticed the desire burning in his eyes and quickly lowered her gaze, trying to shrink into the background.
But before she could even react, he kissed her again. This time, he didn't just linger on her lips. He greedily kissed her skin, his lips brushing over her earlobe, then slowly moving down her graceful neck, leaving a trail of pink marks.
Whether it was her sensitive skin or his torturous kissing skills, Victoria felt as if every spot his lips touched was set ablaze.
He caressed her bare back and gently pressed her into the sofa. Under the seductive glow of the crystal chandelier, he began to unfasten the buttons of her nightgown, his voice a low, sensual murmur. "Didn't the doctor say you could find other ways to be happy?"
"What?"
