Chapter 22 Inconvenient to Say

"Your father and grandfather just went out. If something happens to your grandmother, how are we going to explain it to them?"
After Old Lady Harrington stabilized, Arabella finally couldn't help but scold Alexander, slapping him on the shoulder.
Later, Alexander stayed in the ward by himself. When he came out, he only said one thing, "We won’t divorce."
Victoria looked at him in shock upon hearing his voice.
He looked so desolate; she knew he must be reluctant. He had always wanted to take back her title as Mrs. Harrington.
Arabella, hearing this, breathed a sigh of relief, saying, "Love can be cultivated."
Alexander didn't speak; he just turned to look at Victoria.
Her eyes were moist and glistening as he walked up to her, "Can you stay now?"
Victoria remained silent. Did she have any other choices?
When the two of them got to the staircase, Alexander sighed in frustration and told her, "I'm temporarily moving in with you."
Victoria looked at him in surprise.
"It's Grandma's wish." He reminded.
Victoria slowly lowered her head again.
Since it was Old Lady Harrington's wish, it had to be this way.
"Should we tell Grandma about Miss Montgomery's pregnancy?"
She thought about it and asked him.
Elders would be happy to learn that they would soon have a grandchild. If they knew that, they would probably agree to their divorce.
"You're thinking too simply. There are many things you don't know."
He stood in front of her, his voice heavy.
"So, should we tell Grandma?"
"Of course not."
He had to explain to her again.
He thought that she would understand the situation after what he just said.
But she seemed to understand nothing.
"Oh."
She humbly agreed, not daring to say anything else.
His gaze told her that he was already annoyed by her words.
His phone rang again. Even though it was Isabella, he still looked annoyed. He walked a few steps away before answering the call, "What's up?"
"She’s stable now. Yes, yes, she's with me; we'll talk about it tonight when we get home; you take care of yourself."
Alexander patiently finished the call, then turned to look at her. Seeing her standing against the wall like a punished poor thing, he had to walk back and remind her, "No matter what Grandma says, just go along with her."
"Yes."
She nodded in agreement.
"Victoria, be smart."
She looked up, not quite understanding him.
Was he saying she was stupid?
Alexander quickly left her side, leaving Victoria with the feeling that he really disliked her.
——
That night, Alexander helped her with her suitcase and took her back to the top floor of the Regal Retreat.
However, starting today, there was one more person in the house.
Old Lady Harrington ordered a maid to supervise them.
"Don't prepare dinner for me; I have something to do."
Alexander said indifferently.
The maid had just taken his coat, and upon hearing this, could only reply, "Yes, but Mr. Alexander, I have to report this to Old Lady Harrington."
"Whatever."
Alexander said and left.
Victoria was still standing in the living room.
He had been home for less than two minutes before he left again.
And...
The maid was always at the door. After seeing him enter the elevator, she immediately followed. Seeing that he only went down one floor, she returned and said to Victoria, "Mr. Alexander went downstairs; can you go and get him back?"
"No need."
"Why not?"
The maid thought she was a bit silly.
"He..."
It wasn't her place to control him. He was just going to see the mother of his child.
But how was she going to explain this to the nanny?
"He's your husband. You have the right to call him back."
The nanny didn't know what she was thinking but reminded her of this.
"But we have already signed the divorce papers."
"Divorce papers? Old Lady Harrington tore it up a long time ago."
"Tore it up?
