Chapter 825 An Explanation Is Just a Cover-Up

Alexander's face instantly turned cold.

Victoria, however, smiled and said, "An explanation is just a cover-up. As long as Mr. Harrington is seriously and responsibly in love with Ms. Bryant, in Strawberry's heart, you're still a good man, and her values won't be affected."

"What are you trying to say?" Alexander asked her irritably.

"Divorce. Let's get divorced quickly. You two can then date and get married. It's the perfect arrangement," Victoria said with a smile.

"The perfect arrangement? Victoria, wait until tonight. Say that to me in bed," he said, moving closer to her ear.

Eve, sensing the tension, quickly left to avoid disturbing the couple.

Victoria immediately glared at him, "Please don't flirt with me."

"What if I do?" he retorted.

"Shameless," Victoria said, standing up.

Even though Alexander was holding Strawberry, he easily grabbed Victoria's wrist. He looked up at her with a mischievous smile, "I just want you to check my belt. How is that shameless?"

Check his belt?

She instinctively looked at his waist, then blushed and shook off his hand.

Because Strawberry was there, Victoria didn't intend to leave.

During dinner, Victoria watched Alexander eat elegantly across from her, feeling a bit sad.

If he had behaved better, she wouldn't have dumped him, and she could still enjoy his body.

It was all his fault for not being faithful.

She took a bite of food, but it tasted bland.

Alexander noticed Victoria staring at him and smiled, "If you like looking at me, wait until we're in the room. I'll strip for you."

A sudden, awkward, and panicked cough came from the kitchen.

The chef, who had come out to serve the food, was flustered by what he heard.

Alexander's expression immediately turned cold, feeling that the chef had ruined the moment. However, he couldn't help but stare at Victoria.

Victoria felt like Alexander's gaze was devouring her. She quickly lowered her head and continued eating, avoiding his eyes.

When her phone rang, she saw it was Olivia and immediately answered, "Olivia."

"Where are you? I'll come find you."

"I'm at Serenade Villa."

"I'll be there in half an hour."

Olivia found it strange that Victoria was there but quickly hung up.

Half an hour later, they had finished eating, but Olivia was sitting at their dining table, eating heartily and glaring at Alexander, "He's your friend. If you say you don't know, I'll assume you're covering for him. I'm staying with Victoria tonight."

"No way."

"Olivia."

Alexander and Victoria spoke simultaneously, then instinctively looked at each other. Alexander said seriously, "Tonight, you can't go anywhere but your bed."

Victoria stared at him, confused. 'What?'

'Did I say I was going to sleep in another bed?'

Olivia, eating heartily, said directly, "I'll sleep in your bed with Victoria."

"No, I have a cleanliness issue."

"I don't," Olivia said nonchalantly.

Alexander's expression instantly turned cold. He said nothing more, took out his phone, and walked out to make a call. As soon as the call connected, he said, "Come and get your wife."

Alexander went to the living room, sat down, and turned on the TV with the remote.

He wasn't interested in the outdated news; he was just blocking Victoria.

What if Victoria sneaked out with Olivia while he wasn't paying attention?

He didn't want to sleep alone on such a long night.

He also didn't want any other woman in his bed.

Victoria twisted her body to look at Alexander in the living room, wondering why he was so unreasonable. Then she heard Olivia say, "I don't care. I'm not leaving tonight."

"Then stay."

"What about Edward? Make sure Alexander doesn't let him in."

Olivia grumbled.

"Did he do something with his secretary?"

"That's what I heard. You know, bosses and their secretaries often get involved."

Thinking about Edward and his secretary behind closed doors made Olivia uncomfortable. Victoria suddenly recalled when Alexander had pinned her down in the office and fell silent.

"I don't want to see Edward tonight unless he can prove his innocence. Do you understand?" Olivia said.

"I understand," Victoria instinctively replied.

"Then go talk to Alexander."

"What?"

Victoria snapped back to reality. She had been so focused on agreeing with Olivia that she hadn't listened.

"Hurry up. If Edward comes and disturbs Strawberry, it's not my fault," Olivia urged.

Victoria, feeling awkward, didn't know what to do.

She hadn't asked Alexander for a favor in a long time.

Would he listen to her?

His expression was so stern; he didn't look like someone who would easily agree to her request.

Victoria glanced at Olivia, who urged her on.

Victoria thought for a moment and then walked over, "Mr. Harrington?"

Alexander heard her distant way of addressing him and squinted at the TV.

'She couldn't even say my name now?'

Alexander irritably fiddled with the remote, refusing to speak first.

He had heard everything she and Olivia said in the dining room, but if her attitude wasn't good, she could forget about him helping.

"Maybe you shouldn't call Edward over," Victoria said softly.

Although she didn't want to ask him, since she had started, she had to show some sincerity.

Alexander's dark eyes lowered slightly. Then he moved aside.

Seeing the spot he had vacated and his serious expression, Victoria sat down, "Alexander."

She spoke softly, afraid of angering him.

"If they separate every time they argue, how will they ever reconcile?"

"But Olivia just heard about it, and Mr. Sinclair has no evidence to prove his innocence."

"Since when does innocence need proof?" Alexander retorted.

But seeing her so close, he had to restrain himself. He then said, "Couples need to be together to solve problems. Hiding at our place won't help. And she is not allowed to sleep in my bed."

"Then I'll sleep in the guest room with her."

"No, you can only sleep in the master bedroom."

"Then let Olivia sleep in the guest room alone?"

Victoria looked at him pitifully. She had said so much; he should agree, right?

Alexander thought seriously for a moment. Victoria held her breath, waiting for his agreement.

After what seemed like careful consideration, Alexander turned his eyes.

Seeing his look, Victoria felt very anxious, "If you don't decide soon, Mr. Sinclair will be here."

"I can make sure he doesn't get in," Alexander said dominantly.

Victoria felt slightly relieved but cautiously observed his expression, asking carefully, "Then where will I sleep?"
