Chapter 806 I Admit I Was Wrong, But What About You?
Victoria looked up at Alexander in confusion.
From the crack in the door, it looked like they were gazing at each other intimately, with no sign of a couple on the verge of divorce.
Alexander explained patiently, "They're here to get some information."
"What kind of information?"
Victoria asked, her eyes unintentionally glancing toward the crack in the door.
There seemed to be two strangers dressed very formally, those two people...
What did he just say?
Submit the divorce agreement. Understanding guests?
Victoria's heart suddenly felt like a tightly stretched string about to snap.
Alexander went to open the door first, pulling her hand as they walked out.
Victoria, feeling a strong sense of crisis and a bit of anger, immediately pulled her hand out of his grasp.
The two understanding guests stood up when they saw them come out, "Mrs. Harrington, a pleasure to meet you."
A man and a woman around forty years old. As they approached, Victoria saw the badges on their suit jackets and realized who they were.
Victoria looked at Alexander unhappily. She didn't expect Alexander to play this trick on her. No wonder he held her and kissed her for so long last night, even though he knew she was on her period.
No wonder he was handing her things one by one while she was washing up earlier.
Victoria lowered her eyes and indeed saw a computer on the table. She immediately understood something and then looked at Alexander, "When did you install surveillance in my bathroom?"
"What are you talking about? Didn't we install it after we had Strawberry and came back to the States? You didn't sleep well last night, so you forgot?"
Victoria opened her mouth but didn't impulsively confront him further.
She just looked at Alexander in disappointment.
He was scheming against her.
He said she had a plot, but wasn't he the same?
Maybe he wasn't even asleep that night. Maybe he was fully aware of her actions from the beginning.
He just didn't mention it to her.
Was he trying to make her lower her guard?
Did he find it amusing?
He suddenly invited two people to investigate their relationship. He must be very proud; everything was going according to his plan.
And she, even the Attorney, were just pawns for him to toy with.
Victoria laughed in anger and then turned to leave.
Alexander, seeing her leave, only explained, "We do have some conflicts, but they will be resolved soon."
"Yeah, but Mr. Harrington needs to try harder."
The female guest said.
Alexander smiled, and Victoria had already gone inside and slammed the door.
Alexander turned to look, thinking she was going to sulk and not come out, but she suddenly opened the door and came out again.
Her eyes were filled with tears, but she was incredibly determined, "I am divorcing this man."
The two guests listened seriously, waiting for her to continue.
"He has a mistress during our marriage. He told me he never loved Isabella, but when she almost killed his grandmother, he still shielded her from a knife. Last year, he used Strawberry to trick me into coming back, told me we were divorced, and asked me to help him date Daisy. I saw Daisy sitting on his lap with my eyes. Now he tells me we are not divorced, and last night, he forced himself on me. If it weren't for my period, he would have raped me."
Victoria couldn't hold back anymore, each word clear and piercing.
If these two people were just here to go through the motions, then nothing she said would matter.
But what if they weren't?
Victoria took a gamble. After speaking, the fire in her heart slowly began to extinguish.
Alexander looked at her, feeling like each word was a knife stabbing into his heart.
She hated him.
She said in front of others that he forced himself on her last night.
He was persistent, but it was not forced.
"You should be investigating the real situation, not the facade in my home. For example, the heiress of Bryant Group who left a strong perfume scent on him last night, or the woman still in prison."
She didn't even want to mention Isabella's name. She just hoped these people would stand on the side of justice and not be oppressed by power.
On TV, the bad guys always get their due punishment in the end.
Why should Alexander be able to install surveillance as a pretense, and then they become a loving couple again?
They weren't anymore.
At this moment, Victoria hated him to an indescribable degree.
She didn't understand why all his tactics had to be used on her.
If his love for her was genuine, then it should be exclusively hers.
If he didn't love her, he should find someone else. There were always plenty of beautiful women in the world, but she couldn't cooperate with him.
"Sorry, I can't cooperate with you any further. Please leave my home, and if you could take this man with you, I would be very grateful."
"But as far as we know, this house is..."
"Let me see you out."
The woman was interrupted by Alexander before she could finish. Alexander politely saw them out.
But before he left, he glanced at Victoria.
Victoria was also stunned. What was the investigator going to say?
What about this house?
But she was too angry about Alexander installing surveillance in the bathroom, so she didn't think much about what the investigator was going to say and instead sat on the sofa, looking at the laptop screen.
Unless she was mistaken, the surveillance was installed this morning.
Alexander had prepared thoroughly.
Eve came out of the kitchen holding Strawberry and saw her burying her face in her knees in distress. She couldn't help but approach, "Mrs. Harrington, are you okay?"
"Did you know? Before."
Victoria quickly looked up, just staring at Eve and asking this question.
She hoped Eve didn't know in advance.
"I found out an hour ago."
Eve said.
"Yeah, two minutes before those two guests arrived."
So they had been here for that long.
Victoria told herself to calm down quickly. She unconsciously raised her hand to her forehead. She had a splitting headache and felt she had a fever.
What exactly did Alexander want?
She was already like this, what more did he want?
Couldn't he just find any woman who was better than her?
If he wanted women both at home and outside, he should get a new wife.
Later, only the two of them were left in the living room.
Victoria was still sitting on the sofa, too exhausted to look up at him.
Alexander stood by the window, silently watching her for a while.
He knew she would be angry, but did she think he wasn't angry, too?
Stealing the agreement?
Their Strawberry was so adorable, how could she so unhesitatingly want to divorce him?
He suddenly spoke, "I admit I knew your plan from the beginning, and I also admit that what I did this morning was despicable."
Victoria listened silently with her head down, too tired to offer any opinion.
Alexander continued, "I admit I was wrong."
