Chapter 299 Only Occupying Your Bed
The sound of the door caused Victoria to pause. Fresh from her shower, her hair still damp from the blow-dryer, she quickly checked the surveillance feed on her phone. Seeing Alexander on the screen, she felt a momentary relief, which was quickly replaced by tension.
She had no intention of opening the door. What could Alexander possibly want at this late hour?
The thought of another sleepless night filled her with dread. Her bed was small, and she had no desire to share it with anyone.
A message from Alexander popped up on her phone.
Alexander: [Shall I let myself in?]
Victoria was left speechless. Her heart pounded in her chest. Did he really think a simple question was sufficient politeness?
Knowing full well that she wouldn't open the door, Alexander let himself in. Upon entering, he found Victoria standing defiantly by the bedroom door.
"What's the matter?" Alexander asked.
"You've shown me no courtesy at all," Victoria's voice was soft, but laced with discontent. He had come uninvited.
"Why should I? You are my lawful wife," Alexander retorted.
"What do you want? State your business and leave," Victoria commanded, her eyes narrowing as he approached.
Alexander reached into his pocket, "You forgot your ointment."
Victoria fell silent. He was right.
Embarrassed, she lowered her gaze but quickly met his eyes again. "You could have left it by the shoe rack."
"Is that all?" Alexander frowned, glancing outside at the rain. His wife seemed to have no intention of inviting him to stay."That's all," Victoria replied. "It's raining outside," Alexander pointed out."Goodbye." Victoria's resolve remained unbroken. Even if it were pouring, she wanted him gone.Alexander sighed, rubbing his forehead in exasperation before continuing his advance. As he neared, Victoria spoke again, "Alexander, you can't stay here overnight.""I won't take up this whole house. Just your bed," Alexander countered."What?" Victoria stammered."I said, I'll only need your bed," Alexander repeated. The small house allowed him to reach her in mere seconds, effortlessly scooping her up and carrying her into the bedroom."You smell so good, Vicky," Alexander murmured."Alexander, put me down. And stop calling me Vicky," Victoria warned."Then what should I call you? Honey? Babe?" Alexander teased.Victoria blushed, rendered speechless by his words.Alexander gently laid her on the bed, leaning over her. "I've showered. Shall we sleep?"Victoria was at a loss for words. Fear washed over her, turning her complexion pale. She clung to the headboard, trying to put distance between them. But Alexander was gentle, "You've just showered, let me apply the ointment for you.""Alexander, I don't need it. Just go," Victoria insisted."I'm not leaving," Alexander said.
Victoria fell silent, her expression strained. Despite her clear instructions for him to leave, he had chosen to interpret her words differently.Alexander stood, removing his coat and folding it neatly at the foot of the bed. He then sat on the edge, removing his pants and shoes. Victoria watched in shock, her heart pounding in her chest.Alexander turned to her and said, "I'll wash my hands. But to prevent you from escaping, we'll do it together.""Alexander, don't push it," Victoria warned, her voice strained. She couldn't fathom how he could casually strip down to his underwear and shirt in front of her."I haven't even begun. Save your protests for later," Alexander retorted, lifting Victoria once more.As he washed his hands, Victoria perched on the sink. The moment he reached for the soap, she instinctively hopped down.
