Chapter 777 He Lost to Her
Alexander looked down at Victoria, who was sitting under the sun.
"Tickets? What tickets?"
Brett, not understanding, looked at Alexander curiously and asked, "Tickets? What tickets?"
"She knows."
Alexander stared at Victoria and said softly with certainty.
Victoria felt a tingling in her chest, she understood something: the reason for his actions from yesterday until now.
Alexander looked at her. "Victoria."
"What?"
Victoria looked at him with clear eyes, as if she had just heard his voice.
Through the light, she couldn't see his expression clearly, but she just smiled faintly, "This bet is destined to be unfair."
"Then let's have a game one-on-one," Alexander suggested.
Victoria didn't say anything this time.
Brett played a game of chess with Victoria, and Brett won. Later, Brett got up, and Alexander took his place.
At first, they were sitting face to face, but later, Alexander moved his chair to sit next to Victoria, and when he had free time, he would put his hand on her back and massage her waist.
Victoria initially pressed a few times herself, and then he suddenly did this...
She didn't want to lose that ticket, so she focused on the chess game.
But Alexander only focused on her. If she knew his feelings, she should...
Alexander felt a bit heavy-hearted, not knowing what her next move would be.
Brett and Eloise watched their actions from the side, and Eloise couldn't help but take out her camera, slowly walked behind them.
Eloise's vision was a bit blurry, so she had to zoom in with the camera.
Alexander clearly cared a lot about Victoria.
Eloise took a photo, then suddenly started sobbing quietly.
Victoria and Alexander snapped back to reality, looking up at Eloise standing in the shadows.
Brett couldn't help but frown and ask her, "Why did you suddenly start crying?"
"I'm afraid Alexander is going to lose."
Eloise murmured, then turned and left.
"Keep going, Victoria, good luck."
Brett was worried about Eloise but didn't forget to remind Victoria before leaving.
Alexander sighed helplessly, and after hearing the door close, he asked Victoria, "Do you really want to win?"
"Who wants to lose?"
"You're right, who wants to lose."
Alexander responded to her, then looked carefully at the chessboard again.
Victoria couldn't help but stand up later. Her waist felt better under the sun, but sitting for a long time was tiring.
Seeing her stand up, Alexander made another move.
Victoria put her hands on her hips, staring at the chessboard, then sneaked a glance at him.
He seemed to really want to win.
Tickets? Tickets for her to return to Elysium Country?
Then she couldn't lose. She held onto the edge of the table, slowly bent down, and turned the chess piece in her hand several times, still undecided where to place it.
Alexander looked at her seriously. "It looks like you're going to lose."
"It's too early to conclude."
Victoria said, humming uncomfortably.
Alexander looked up and saw her pale face, knowing she must be in pain again. He turned to get the cushion Eloise used for her waist and placed it on her seat. "Sit down, it should be more comfortable now."
Victoria glanced at it, then sat back down.
The game lasted nearly two hours, even Arabella couldn't help but come to see them.
Seeing how serious they both were, thinking about Eloise saying their bet was a ticket, she sighed helplessly and left.
Later, even Maximus and Janaye joined in the fun.
In the end, Alexander lost.
He lost when Victoria's forehead was covered in fine sweat, and her face looked bad.
There were only a few pieces left on the chessboard. And his pieces were blocked.
After Victoria made her final move, she finally breathed a sigh of relief and took a long time to look up at him. "You lost."
"Yes, I lost."
Alexander looked at her, and after a few seconds, suddenly stood up.
Victoria looked up at Alexander in confusion, her heart trembling when she saw him standing in front of her.
Then she was lifted out of the chair by him.
She asked, trying to control her racing heart, "What are you doing?"
"If you don't lie down now, your waist will be ruined."
Victoria didn't say anything more, just silently looked at him.
For some reason, she suddenly had the illusion that he lost to her on purpose.
The people at the door all ran away before they came out.
Alexander heard the footsteps and sighed helplessly, then carried her back while saying, "Let's guess what they're betting on with our game."
"What?"
Victoria snapped back to reality but didn't hear clearly.
"Never mind."
Alexander saw that her attention wasn't on him, feeling extremely frustrated and losing interest.
Back in the room, he gently put her down on the bed. This time, she didn't force herself to sit up but lay down with his help.
"Thank you."
Victoria lay there uncertainly, with one knee still not down.
Alexander looked at her captivating eyes and asked, "How will you thank me?"
"Nothing."
Victoria replied.
Alexander took a deep breath, holding it for a long time, just looking at her helplessly.
Victoria lowered her eyes, then silently reached for the edge of the blanket and gradually covered herself.
"Do you want me to turn on the electric blanket for you?"
"Yes?"
Victoria didn't mean to sound questioning, she just wasn't sure what attitude he wanted.
Alexander sat by the bed, turned on the electric blanket, then lay down beside her.
He leaned against the headboard, and Victoria looked up at him. "What are you doing?"
"Taking a nap."
"Didn't you sleep last night?"
"No, I was exhausted."
Alexander said, then lay down, putting one hand on her, then under the blanket, with his forehead against her shoulder.
Victoria tried to push his arm away, but as soon as she touched him, Alexander immediately pressed her hands down.
"Alexander, you can't sleep like this..."
"Last night, after entertaining guests, I came upstairs, and it was almost four. You were sleeping so soundly, making me stay up until dawn. Does this answer satisfy you ?"
He explained helplessly, his forehead against her shoulder.
He felt her heart beating fast. She must be afraid he slept with another woman.
But how could he?
His heart had already been taken by Victoria, how could he give it to another woman?
It was like a math problem: no matter the steps, the answer was always the same.
Alexander pressed his forehead harder, just wanting to sleep like this with her.
Victoria quieted down.
She was just confused.
Didn't he say he went to find Daisy?
Why did he suddenly say he came back upstairs?
Victoria didn't know which of his words were true.
She sighed helplessly, feeling like her head was going to explode.
Alexander heard her sigh and couldn't help but murmur, "Vicky?"
"What?"
"Sleep."
