Chapter 959 He Began to Enjoy Expressing His Longing

"I miss you."

Victoria received a message from Alexander that day.

Alexander stood in front of the large glass window in his office, not knowing why, but he had been wanting to say this to her constantly lately.

It seemed that whenever he thought of her, he wanted her to know.

Even though he was already in his thirties and should know how to control his emotions, he felt the need for her to know his feelings every moment.

Victoria looked at several messages on Facebook from him, all saying the same thing. She didn't reply, but her heart felt heavy.

It was as if something was slowly being injected into her heart, which had long been cold and numb.

She remembered her birthday, but since no one mentioned it, she didn't bring it up.

Every time her birthday approached, she would think of her childhood. Her parents weren't great cooks, but they always made an effort to bake a cake for her birthday. Eventually, she got to eat some really delicious cakes.

The night before her birthday, Victoria dreamed of being back home.

Her dad was busy in the kitchen wearing an apron, and her mom ran out of the kitchen to greet her, "Sweetie, happy birthday!"

"Mom?"

In the dream, she knew her parents had passed away.

"Come on, look at your dad showing off his skills again."

Her mom took her hand and led her to the kitchen. When her dad turned around, both of them couldn't help but laugh; her dad's face was covered in flour.

Her parents were laughing, so she laughed too, but as she laughed, tears started to flow.

In the dream, she knew it was just a dream.

She couldn't go back!

When she woke up in the morning, Eve came to her with Strawberry in her arms, "Mrs. Harrington, wake up, it's your birthday today. Desiree is already making lots of delicious food."

"What?"

Victoria, still groggy, got up and saw her favorite person already in bed.

"Mommy."

"Strawberry."

Victoria was tackled by Strawberry, and her ribs hurt a little.

Eve, worried that Strawberry might hurt Victoria, tried to pick her up, but Strawberry rolled back into Victoria's arms, lying on her shoulder, sucking thumb, and smiling at Eve.

Victoria looked down at the little one in her arms and suddenly couldn't help but smile.

Her parents were gone, but she was a parent now.

From now on, she shouldn't dwell on the past; she should love Strawberry well.

Victoria almost thought everyone had forgotten her birthday.

At mealtime, Strawberry sat in her high chair, eating with her special utensils.

The little one found eating solid food a bit challenging, but was still very happy.

Victoria suddenly realized that she had received a huge birthday gift.

Strawberry could walk and eat so quickly.

Even though her eating habits were quite messy.

At noon, Victoria received packages from Olivia, Tessa, and Emily.

In their group chat, she posted a photo and said: [Gifts received, thank you, my dear friends.]

The three of them immediately replied enthusiastically, telling Victoria to pamper herself as much as possible today. Emily even suggested, [How about I introduce you to a guy? He's working over there and is super handsome.]

[Wait, if Alexander checks her phone when he visits, you're dead.] Olivia warned.

Victoria replied, [We agreed, he's coming next week.]
