Chapter 730 When She Couldn't Move Lying on My Bed
In the Rockland Street neighborhood, a black sedan rolled to a stop.
When Victoria woke up, she fed Strawberry first and then held her while gazing out the window.
A car was parked in an odd spot, with a thin layer of white snow on its roof. She watched quietly.
The snow here wasn't cleared quickly, adding a touch of charm.
When she heard the door, she thought she was imagining things and walked out slowly with Strawberry in her arms.
But as soon as she stepped out of the bedroom, she saw a tall figure at the entrance. "Why are you here?"
"I brought breakfast for you," Alexander said casually as he headed to the kitchen but quickly came back out.
Victoria held her breath as he walked up to her, and then Strawberry was taken from her arms.
As she let go, she heard Strawberry happily exclaim.
Strawberry seemed thrilled to be held by Alexander.
Strawberry looked at Alexander, then started waving her arms and legs, her eyes darting around but clearly happy.
Seeing Strawberry so happy to see him, Alexander couldn't help but smile until he saw Victoria, and his face suddenly turned cold.
When the door sounded again, it wasn't being opened from the outside this time.
Victoria went to open the door.
Alexander stood behind her holding Strawberry, watching.
If Victoria turned around, she would see that Alexander's eyes could kill at that moment.
She opened the door and first saw the breakfast, then heard a playful voice, "I've brought some delicious food for you!"
It was Adrian. He put the breakfast down and smiled, but his eyes turned unhappy when he saw Alexander behind Victoria.
Alexander was even more displeased to see Adrian.
Adrian's eyes flickered, but he quickly said with a beaming smile, "Honey, we have a guest so early in the morning."
Victoria sighed helplessly at this and then turned around, saying, "Both of you, please leave my house early."
But clearly, no one listened to her.
So, at the small dining table, there were four people.
"Strawberry, did you miss Daddy? Let Daddy hold you." Adrian, sitting next to Alexander, turned and reached out to hold Strawberry.
Strawberry, not recognizing people well yet, immediately leaned towards Adrian.
Alexander quickly turned her away, surprised that Strawberry wanted Adrian's hug, but calmly reminded, "Get your facts straight first; you're not her dad."
"If I marry Victoria, she's my daughter."
Alexander said, "Provided you have the ability to marry her."
Adrian withdrew his hand, knowing that Alexander had found out about the argument he had with Victoria at Serenade Villa.
After all, it was Alexander's house, and everyone there worked for him.
Adrian felt awkward but couldn't help but provoke Alexander. He immediately handed Victoria a sandwich, "It has a lot of bacon. I waited in line for half an hour to get it. Almost got recognized. Try it and taste it."
"You should do this less often." Victoria reminded but took a bite.
It tasted just as delicious as she remembered.
Alexander had bought a chicken sandwich with lots of chicken and cheese. Seeing Victoria prefer Adrian's, he irritably reminded, "Try the other one."
Victoria didn't look up at him but calmly finished the sandwich in her hand and then took the one Alexander bought. It tasted the same too.
"Next time, you can buy a vegetable sandwich," Victoria said, finding meat too greasy now.
The two men silently noted this but continued their secret competition, watching to see which one she would eat next.
After eating two sandwiches, Victoria was full and drank some porridge. She didn't know who bought it; both had bought oatmeal porridge. She drank some casually, and the two brothers couldn't tell who had bought it either. They were already upset that she didn't eat more, and now they were even more upset.
After eating, Victoria wiped her hands and walked over to Alexander. "Let me hold Strawberry. You guys eat first."
Alexander felt a warmth in his heart. "I can hold her and eat. Don't hurt yourself..." But before he could finish, Victoria had already walked away.
Strawberry watched Victoria leave but then looked up at her dad and saw the handsome Adrian sitting across from them. She immediately sat quietly on Alexander's lap.
After Victoria left, Adrian's eyes followed her. He even put down his utensils.
Alexander's deep voice commanded, "Sit down."
Adrian turned to look at him, always feeling that Alexander had no right to control him. But in the end, Adrian obediently sat back at the table and asked quietly, "You are divorced. Why are you still doing this?"
Alexander knew what he meant and smiled faintly. "Divorce requires going to court."
Adrian felt a buzzing in his head and looked at Alexander in confusion.
Alexander held Strawberry with one hand and a spoon with the other, eating porridge skillfully and steadily, as if he had done this thousands of times. But Adrian knew Strawberry had only been back for a few days. Some people were naturally good at everything, regardless of time or frequency.
But Alexander, who was good at everything, was particularly hurtful in matters of the heart.
"I know that as long as you file for divorce and have Victoria's signed divorce agreement, it can be granted."
Alexander asked, "Why should our marriage be granted a divorce?"
Adrian heard another loud noise in his head. Alexander's dark eyes seemed to say they were not divorced. Adrian suddenly couldn't speak, just staring at him in disbelief.
Alexander sternly reminded, "She is your sister-in-law. Once she is, she always will be. The one in my arms is your niece. If you accept this, Strawberry will call you uncle when she grows up. If you don't, then you are nothing."
Every word hit Adrian's temples hard. Adrian looked at his confident and calm demeanor and felt like a joke.
"Are you saying you and Victoria are not divorced?" Adrian still wanted to confirm.
"Don't worry about our business. Live your own life well."
"But my life is Victoria."
"Then I have to ask you to leave the Harrington Family." Alexander looked at him seriously, with a hint of a smile, and reminded him.
"What gives you the right to make this decision?"
Alexander kindly informed, "Probably because I'm the current head of the Harrington family."
"Grandpa and Grandma are still around."
Adrian knew Brett and Eloise always felt they owed him.
Alexander asked him calmly, "Yes, Grandpa and Grandma are still around. So go ask them if you can fall in love with your sister-in-law and pursue her for years."
Adrian said, "You don't need to humiliate me. When she was lying in my bed, unable to move, and I was taking care of her, she never mentioned you once."
